Please note, the product DietsInReview.com has reviewed is available at Nuphedrine.com. There is confusion amongst consumers about the color and packaging of the pills. In 2008, Nuphedrine changed manufacturers, and in the process updated their packaging and the color of the pills. The current Nuphedrine product is sold in a box with individual packets inside.
Nuphedrine is a highly-sought after, but highly controversial diet supplement. It contains two key ingredients which have been implicated in aiding weight loss: Advantra-Z and Hoodia. Advantra-Z is a patented form of synephrine or citrus aurantium, a similar product to the now banned ephedra. Hoodia is a cactus plant that hails from South Africa where it has long been used as an appetite suppressant for tribal men on long treks through the countryside. It has recently gained enormous popularity in the US. Nuphedrine also contains Slimaluma, a patented product that is also supposed to suppress appetite.
Nuphedrine is not supposed to cause any side effects. It does not contain any stimulants like caffeine or taurine.

INGREDIENTS
Nuphedrine contains certified, 20X South African Hoodia, Advantra-Z in the 30X potency and Slimaluma.
Here is a breakdown of the three ingredients of Nuphedrine and how they work to help you lose weight:
Advantra-Z alone is supposed to help you burn an extra 500 calories a day with its 30X "Extra Strength" concentration. Advantra-Z claims that it enhances weight loss, increases lean muscle mass, improves athletic performance and suppresses appetite.
Hoodia contains a compound called ‘P57’, which is a molecule that makes you feel full. But only pure hoodia contains this special molecule. Many studies have shown that even though a product may claim it is pure hoodia or certified hoodia, it is not the real thing. The hoodia contained in NuPhedrine is concentrated 20 times and has a standardized guaranteed 20:1 ratio rating.
The third ingredient in Nuphedrine , Slimaluma is sends signals to your brain while you’re eating telling you that you’re full. Given its effects on satiety, a little amount of food can go along way in tricking you into feeling that you’ve eaten enough to quell your appetite even though very little food has been consumed.
ADMINISTRATION
It is recommended that you take three capsules of Nuphedrine per day. Two capsules should be taken in the morning on an empty stomach or 1-2 hours after eating. The third capsule should be taken at mid-day to help get you through the evening.

There are no specific dietary or exercise recommendations while taking any Nuphedrine but the company does recommend that you follow a sensible eating and exercise plan.
CONCLUSION
Nuphedrine may be one of the most popular weight-loss supplements on the market with its triple combination of South African Hoodia, Advantra-Z and Slimaluma. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW IF NUPHEDRIENE CAUSES EVEN SLIGHT DEHYDRATION?,DRY MOUTH?, or constipation???? So many diet supplements do have these bothersome side effects. I can drink extra Water for Dehydration & Dry Mouth. I can handle most unpleasant side-effects as I have learned that they ussually go away after 4 -5 days. But - well -I am embarassed to ask about - constipation???That's a pretty horrid side effect for me, I already suffer from IBS - I WOULD HATE TO THINK THAT MY NEW DIET SUPPLEMENT MADE THAT EXISTING CONDTION WORSE (being constipated & having the accompanying abdominal cramps all the time is a nightmare). PLEASE I SURE DO HOPE SOMEONE CAN ANSWER MY ?S RE:DEHYDRATION, DRY MOUTH, & constipation???

I too ordered my Nuphedrine via expidited shipping, and waited 8 or so days before the product arrived. I kept calling customer service complaining about not being given a shipping #. They finally gave me the USPS shipping number & then the Nuphedrine arrived. But Now, after reading some of the warnings on the product as well as, many of the comments posted here, I am somewhat afraid to take the pill. I read that it made some of the people feel kind of sick, so I didn't take it today because I had to drive a long way to do someting important that I could not cancel. 1. I AM AFRAID THAT IT WILL MAKE MY PULSE RACE & MAKE MY HEART BEAT REALLY REALLY FAST. 2. I AM AFRAID THAT IT WILL GIVE ME INSOMNIA - THAT WON'T GO AWAY AFTER A FEW DAYS. 3. ALL IN ALL I AM JUST FLAT OUT AFRAID THAT THE PILLS WILL JUST MAKE ME JITTERY, NERVOUS, & MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I'M SPEEDING. I ordered this product and did not get it... I paid extra to have it shipped faster, and STILL NOTHING!!! I have asked for a full refund when I called in, told I would get a full refund and STILL NOTHING!!!!! THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!!!!

I was always slightly overweight, but dew to some health issues I gained 20 pounds, so I tried pure Ephedrine(Magic Herb)! That when I was 40 back in 1997.. The side effect was only for couple of days, after that it worked like miracle. In three months I reached my goal, then became too skinny.. then took only one pill a day just to keep it that way until last year (exactly ten years). Now I am starting to gain pounds month after month.. I tried all the possible pills I could obtain in Canada or order from US, they only added more pounds. Couple of hours ago I ordered Nuphedrine basing on YOUR comments. I will wait impatiently to try it! I do thank you all, whether it works or not. Good luck

I HAVE THESE PILLS IN HAND BUT I AM AFRAID OF TAKING THEM JUST BECAUSE OF SOME COMMENTS LIKE YOURS. To laura Sorry about your lost. But what give you the right to judge anyone. If you feel that way then why in the HELL you on this website. I would be somewhere talking out loud about the pills that took my mother away from me. But I guess you don't have nothing else to do but sit and judge people. Someone with a heart would have type listen up people.Please throw your pills away . My mother was taking them for awhile and do to that she had a Heart Attack are etc. You just said ..."These pills killed my mother. You all should be ashamed of yourselves." You need to go PRAY.

I have been on the pills for 2 days and lost 3 pounds. I am not on a special diet but cut down on the amount I eat. I am not hungry at most times and sometimes takes 2 pills instead of one, if hungry pains occurs. Its worth trying out. I exercised regularly but needed an etra boost.

I purchased this product and it arrived in 4 business days (US). I started taking the pills today (2/20/08) and I am not hungry at all - usually I am hitting the vending machine mid day - I hope this product is similar, if not better, than the original Metabolife with the Ephedra. That product was the best. I'll let you know how my weight loss progresses.

Good Morning to All! I went to weigh in and not any good numbers. I pick up a pound. I Might take two pills in the morning instead of one. To Tara what you are saying is true. If someone know how to lose weight then why write in on a diet Blog. I hate when people like to pretend. I know I need the extra help. I have three Kids and work a full time Job. So sometimes I eat things that I don't need to. But thats why I get back on track the next Day. Anyway to all who are trying to lose weight have Faith and don't give up. Do anyone need a partner? Bella66..........if you KNOW regular exercise and eating right is the way to lose weight, why are you looking for a diet pill? I?m so sick of lazy fat procrastinating people that tell others how to lose weight. If you know how to lose weight, JUST GO AND DO IT. Stop looking for diet pills and stop telling others how to lose weight. Is anyone with me on this? I personally believe that exercise and eating right is essential. Drinking lots of water and getting good nights sleep is also good. I personally wouldn?t take diet pills if I didn?t need them, but unlike these idealists, I live in the real world. And in the real world I work all day and when I get home I have a number of things I have to do. And guess what, after everything is done, I?m exhausted. I used to take ephedrine supplements in the past and it helped me get through the day and gave me energy to work out after getting home. So don?t sit there and judge those who need a little extra help.

I was really going to order these diet pills when I started reading at the top of the page. The more I read however really made me decide to just save my money. I have tried a few different diet pills and really nothing works like regular exercise and eating right. I'll just start doing that again.
