LA Weight Loss is a company that has a history of weight loss centers and high powered sales tactics. However, LA Weight Loss has recently closed many of their centers around the country and transformed their program to one that can be done entirely online. There are a few physical centers that remain, but the online program allows you to participate in the program no matter where you live. The LA Weight Loss program is designed for those with a busy lifestyle. You can achieve weight loss results quickly using this program. The key to the fast and effective results is called the transmetabolic factor.
This helps your body burn calories throughout the day. You don’t have do anything special for this factor to occur, you just have to follow the LA Weight Loss menu plan. Although the claim is that the transmetabolic factor occurs through the foods you eat, you are required to purchase nutrition supplements each month with the LA Weight Loss program. With the meal plan, each meal includes balanced amounts of protein, carbohydrates and good fat. Portion control and timing of meals is also very important on this program. When you start the program, you use the LA Rapid Results Food Guide. This guide is followed until you lose 20 pounds. At that point you will transition to the LA My Way Food Guide. If your goal is to lose less than 20 pounds, you would transition once you reach your goal. The foods you will eat are those that you purchase at your local grocery store. There are no prepackaged meals to buy, but you are encouraged to purchase and eat two LA Lite Bars each day along with LA SmartTrim Nutritionals.
You will choose the foods you eat each day and never be forced to eat things you don’t like. There are support tools available as well as one on one support through chat rooms and forums. To jump-start your results, you will receive a 2 day kick-start plan featuring the LA Weight Loss TakeOFF Juice. There are five easy to follow steps that make the up the elements of the entire LA Weight Loss program. The LA Weight Loss program is divided into three phases: Weight Loss, Stabilize, Maintenance.

LA Weight Loss has a non-diet approach. They promote a healthy weight loss program, that teaches you how to live a healthy and balanced life- not just kill a few pounds for the moment. You won't have to seriously restrict one group of food, like a low-carb or no-fat diet; instead, you'll learn how to enjoy all things in moderation assuring your body receives all the nutrients it needs. Following the LA Weight Loss program is easy and can be done in five steps. Along with the meal plan you will be purchasing bars and nutrition supplements. For those that don’t live in an area with physical LA Weight Loss Centers, you can complete the program online. Your eating plan will vary depending on your current weight. There are additional products available including additional bars, protein shakes, snacks and a plateau breaking system. The five steps of the weight loss program include:
- Step 1: Use the 2-Day Kick Start plan on your first two days and then every 14 days while you are working towards reaching your goal weight. This stage uses the LA Weight Loss TakeOFF Juice. This juice prepares your body for weight loss and claims to help you get rid of pounds quickly.
- Step 2: This stage starts on your third day of the program and continues until you lose 20 pounds or reach your goal if it’s less than 20 pounds. During this stage you will be using the LA Rapid Results Diet System. You follow the food choices in your food guide that includes foods from the categories of proteins, vegetables, fruits, starches, dairy, fats, beverages, extras and LA Lites Bars. During this stage you will be eating six meals from your allowed menu.
- Step 3: Transition to the LA My Way Food Guide once you have lost 20 pounds. You stay on this stage until you reach your goal weight. Your LA My Way Food Guide includes a more expanded food list. This stage will allow you to continue your weight loss. If you feel more comfortable, you can stay with the eating guidelines of stage two until you reach your goal or are ready to move on.
- Step 4: Use LA Lites Bars every day throughout the program. These bars are said to be a crucial component of your success. They are designed to help reduce cravings and temptations. The bars are convenient and can be taken with you anywhere.
- Step 5: Use the LA SmartTrim Nutritionals with your diet program. These supplements are also said to be an integral part of the LA Weight Loss program. Previously, these supplements and the snack bars were the cause of a lot of scrutiny with the sales practices of the physical centers. Now when you order your program online, they are included. The supplements are specifically designed to give your body the needed nutrients to complete the program.
As part of the LA Weight Loss program, you'll be encouraged to get up and move. LA states that even a mild exercise regimen will yield results. The LA Weight Loss program is heavily based on the foods you eat along with their snack bars and nutrition supplements. You are encouraged to exercise at least three times per week to burn calories and increase your weight loss results. The type of exercise you do is left completely up to you, so finding something you like would be beneficial.
LA Weight Loss has created a program that is different from what they have previously used. You can do this program online without having to go to a center for your products. This is especially helpful because most of the centers have closed. It is important to notice that the bulk of what you are spending on this program each month is to pay for the required bars and nutrition supplements. For those that want to truly lose weight and keep it off, a healthy diet and exercise plan can get you there. Changing your eating habits and adding physical activity is the tried and true way to lose weight, and you won’t spend hundreds of dollars each month on snack bars and supplements.

I loved LA Weight loss until they decided to shut down the center without any kind of warning. I had just paid for extra weeks using my care credit card and then all of a sudden I get a phone call from a former counselor stating that LA had shut its doors. So I went by there today to see if it was true and sure enough the doors were locked and the phone line disconnected later this afternoon. Luckily care credit took off the last transaction that I had made in the store. But what about all of the other individuals who have paid well beyond my $36? I wonder what's going to happen to them.

I joined LA Weightloss a few years ago and lost the weight I need. However, I didn't keep up with the lifestyle change and have gaine some of the weight back. I still have my old info and think I'll try it on my own. Does anyone know what you can replace the bars with? I think someone told me to add an extra protien, fruit and vegetable. But I can't remember. Has anyone out there used the plan without the bars to know?

I LOVE L.A. Weight Loss. I have been in the program almost 9 weeks. I'm not the speediest loser, but am down 7 inches overall and 6 pounds. I feel better and with a ton of energy. I eat my own food. They do not push their products. I'm in love with the bars. But if you don't want to do the bars you can substitute something else. I have great counselors and everyone has been terrific. If you feel like you've been pressured to buy food, then I'm surprised. The counselors at the Poway Centre couldn't be more helpful or supportive - regardless if you purchase their products or not.

Does anyone know what you are supposed to do after the center closes? The counselor at my center said we could call the corporate office and that we would continue being monitored through the phone or website. Is this true, cuz I called and am waiting for a returned call. Message said within 48 hours.

LA Weightloss as other weight loss centres are a waste of money , i have learned the hard way and would not recommend anyone to do the same. Pushing bars and pills, and making you spend more money is not the way to help some one lose weight or give false hope. if you want to lose weight we all know what we need to do and that is change our lifestyle and diet. It is not a secret that these weight loss clinics are money making schemes.

Tried it, lost nothing except tons of money, counsellors are rude and extremely pushy, you have to go way too often in person.

I have been on the LA weight loss plan now for 2 weeks. So far I've lost about 3.5 pounds. Yes, it is expensive, this I knew, but it's the accountability of knowing that I have to go in twice a week for a weigh in that works for me. I want to succeed this time! I've tried so many other diets and have failed. I really do think that this program will work for me, I am determined! (I'm not too thrilled about the LA lites bars though. I'd much rather eat regular food in place of the calories in those!)

This program really does work, but you must be committed. It is also very costly. I lost 117 pounds on this program, but gained 45 back during the maintenance and stabilization stage. That was due to not continuing to use the fat burners etc. of the pills that they use in order for you to lose the weight. So I continue to add on to the weight gain due to them closing in January. They want you to join other weight loss clinic, but due to the distrust I'm going at it alone!! Results are working.

I joined LA and was very successful. I easily lost 30 lbs and kept it off for over a year. I have a couple of complaints. First they are VERY expensive, and second and most important...we moved in the middle of my maintenance. As this same time the LA office I was changed to Pure Weightloss. When we moved, the local LA would not take me. They wanted me to start all over again. I clearly did not need to loose any more weight, but they insisted that I needed to pay the start up fees, etc. and start all over. It has now been 9 months since we moved, and I have gained ALL my weight back. I am sooooo depressed and frustrated at myself. I don't know if I can trust any weighloss center again...

I do agree that if you stay on the plan and use it correctly you will loose weight. I lost 25 lbs in about 3 months on the plan. The reason why I stopped going was because the couseler that I liked was fired and she was the only one that I felt comfortable with. All of the other counselers were obviously looking to get me to spend more and more money. When I said I did not want the bars they did not take it kindly and they were rude after that. As a matter of fact when I would come in and I did not loose as much weight at they had projected for that week they were very impatient and visably upset with me. This made me very uncomfortable. This was my experience. In closing I would like to say that It is obvious that they are working on comission because of how they preassure you to buy the bars. And mind you I lost weight without them.

I currently am an employee of LA Weight Loss and have been for 2 1/2 years. I just want to let everyone out there know that the program really does work, but you DON'T have to do the bars or supplements. In fact, you can lose just fine without all of that. I am quitting the place soon b/c we too are probably closing. The program can be expensive when it's not on sale, but Jenny Craig is more expensive and I think weight watchers is about the same except you don't have to pay up front. The bad thing about LA Weight Loss is that they do not care about their employees. I DO care about my clients and become very close to them. yes, we make commission but trust me...it's not a lot. For example, I make 1% off of the total revenue of the store. So we are currently averaging $3,000 a week. Business is really down. So that is $30 extra that I make plus my hourly of $10.00/hr. They cut our hours down too b/c we aren't pulling enough revenue! So it's not great pay for what we have to do. It's a tough job to listen to women all day long and try to find answers for them about why they aren't losing. Trust me I have lost 30lbs with the program w/o doing bars or supps. I did it in 4months. The program does go by your ht and wt to put you on a certain plan. but the corporate people dont care about the clients they only care about the sales, which is why it is hard for the employees b/c we are pressured to push sales so much. I quit selling so hard even though it hurts my paycheck. I would rather my clients like me and listen to me than hate seeing me b/c they feel the need to buy something. So if you're going to do LAWL, remember it does work, but you do not have to do any product to lose. Although i do like a lot of the products...don't feel like you HAVE to do them.

I joined LA Weigh Loss about 3 1/2 weeks ago. So far, I have lost 6 lbs. I like that the plan has me thinking about what I eat, and portion size. I do have to say that I feel a lot better in these 3 weeks than I have in the past 3 years. I am concerned, however, about the possibility of the centers closing down. Is it just the Pure Weight loss centers, or is it also LA Weight loss?

Ok, so i joined la weightloss, and i lost 20 lbs. in the first month, and 40 by 3 1/2 months and finaly i reached my goal weight and lost 92 lbs right under 7 months! the program is def. worth it. now, i'll say this, my mom joined weight watchers 2 years ago and has only lost some 40 lbs. since then and shes an avid calorie counter. it only took me all of 7 months to lose more than double that... she choose weight watchers cause it was cheaper...but if you add in all that time, $15 a week...for 2 years...you do the math. i spent $1500 for the over all program, and maybe another $500 later. all together $2000. its actually cheaper compared to jenny craige and even weight watchers...it only looks more expensive because you pay all of it up front. its actually genius if you think about it, it makes people commit to it financially so they wont quit even if they want to...i love it. i'd def. recommend it to anyone.

I joined LA 4 years ago. Lost 120 pounds. Had great support. Loved it. It became difficult to weigh in 3 times a week, the staff changed and it wasn't as much fun. Still, I had the success and will probably continue to go until I reach goal. Having someone to talk to and discuss your food choices is important. It helps you see where you are successful and where you need to work. Talking about trouble spots helps you fix them and hopefully change habits for life.

I lost about 60 lbs on LA Weight Loss plan and am very happy about that. It has changed my life. However, I developed a kidney stone as a result of taking the supplements and the high protein bars. I would caution anyone thinking about joining because passing a kidney stone was more painful than giving birth to my two children.
