Do You Know the Best Diets of 2024?
Quick Weight Loss, founded in Florida, provides individualized weight loss therapy. The program boasts no exercise and you eat the foods you love including the diet program's own line of diet foods and herbal and thermogenic supplements.
Made popular by Rush Limbaugh who in 2009 lost a remarkable amount of weight in a short period of time following a Quick Weight Loss created just for him, this southern Florida company has helped many lose weight.
Currently, the only bricks and mortar Quick Weight Loss Centers are scattered around southern Florida but there is an online program that you can join from anywhere in the country. This home-based program is a six-week program in which you receive support and counseling via email and phone from Quick Weight Loss Center specialists.
Once you have signed up for either program, you work individually with a Quick Weight Loss Center expert in order to create your own customized diet plan.
In general, the Quick Weight Loss plan provides participants a diet that is low calorie (up to 1,500 calories/day). You buy the foods you like to make and supplement with Quick Weight Loss brand's bars, beverages, soups as well as supplement s that are intended to facilitate weight loss.
You can expect to lose three to seven pounds each week while following the Quick Weight Loss Center programs.
- Doctor clearance shows they are being responsible
Helped Rush Limbaugh lose 80 pounds in 2009
Offers an individualized program to weight loss
One-on-one support provides motivation and accountability
- Weight loss claims may be exaggerated
- Required to buy program's special line of foods increases costs
- Herbal supplements and other stimulants are required
- Supplements do not require FDA approval; check with your doctor before taking
- Brick and mortar locations are limited to southern Florida and Texas
- Low calorie diet plan may lead to rebound weight gain
- Diet program rules are not scientifically founded
While all Quick Weight Loss Center diets are custom-designed, there are a few benchmark features that are applied to every participant's diet.
Most diet plans include a low-calorie and low-fat daily eating plan that is comprised of about 1,500 calories a day.
And while the company remains pretty hush-hush about what their diet looks like, a few secrets slipped through the cracks thanks to Rush's public discussion about his experience with Quick Weight Loss Centers.
There are a host of other food rules that you must abide by while following the program such as eating green peppers but not red bell peppers and not combining two different kinds of proteins in one meal. For instance you can have seven ounces of grilled chicken breast but not three ounces of white fish and four ounces of turkey breast in one meal. In addition, alcohol, sugar, refined flours and fried foods are not allowed.
You can also supplement with Quick Weight Loss Centers proprietary foods which can be purchased online or at one of the Center's Florida locations. Such foods include special puddings, shake mixes, nutrition bars, soups and oatmeal.
In addition, you are also encouraged to take Quick Weight Loss Centers own line of dietary supplements like essential fatty acids, herbs and carb blockers, all of which are supposed to facilitate speedy weight loss.
You can engage in moderate exercise while following the Quick Weight Loss Center diet but hard-core exercise is not a strong feature of this plan.
Made popular almost overnight by conservative radio-host Rush Limbaugh who lost 80 pounds in just a few months, Quick Weight Loss Centers is a Florida-based customized diet plan that helps you lose weight quickly with its low-calorie and highly structured eating plan. But it is exactly this stringent plan that lands this diet in the category of countless other plans that take off a lot of weight in a short amount of time and then risks gaining it all back once you are no longer on the plan.
But with this rather mysterious diet plan filled with specific eating rules and special supplements that contain hoodia and ephedra-like stimulants, you might want to think twice about spending the money on Quick Weight Loss Center and instead think about incorporating more natural, practical and long-term strategies for successful weight loss.

I recently joined QWLC and thought the up front price was inclusive. I was disappointed to find out it wasnt and all of the extra to spend to stay on the plan. The staff are upbeat because they're all on the "BOOST". They also have no clue what they are actually doing when they get everyone to eat all the protein and fat without carbs. I didn't know until one of the disgruntled employees told me I could have asked for a refund, when I complained about having to spend so much more for their supplements. Wouldn't recommend this diet.Weight Watchers is healthier and less expensive overall. I wish I had found this web site before I signed up.

Like many here, I was shocked at the sneaky way they rope you into the high cost of this diet, but at 263lbs (I'm 5'2") and previously having failed at WW, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, and Atkins, among others, I was desperate to try anything. Yeah, the price is steep, but what would the cost of diabetes or a heart attack be? The price forced me to remain committed and it has been worth every penny to me so far. I started on 2/3/08 and as of 9/9/08, 7 months later, I have lost 84lbs and counting. I had lost 75lbs by 7/4/08, and I have stumbled a bit over the last 2 months so my weight loss really slowed. Not the diet's fault. I was getting sloppy and allowing myself to cheat. Now I'm back on track and working to lose the remaining 40 pounds. My counselors in the Canton, GA location are very supportive. As long as I am honest with them about my challenges, they make adjustments and provide all the encouragement and support I need to stay on track. They routinely check my diary, check my blood pressure, and take my measurements to see how many inches I've lost. I weigh in 3 times per week and if I haven't had a loss on a visit they will go over my last 3 days with me to pinpoint what may have caused my weight not to change. I couldn't be more pleased. Yes, it's restrictive. Yes, it's expensive. But that is what I need. It is not the right program for everyone, and that is ok. WW works great for a lot of people but was not a great program for me because it gave me too much leeway to screw up. I'd not eat all day so I could use all my points to have 2 slices of pizza for dinner. LOL. With QWLC you have to measure everything and follow the plan to the letter. You cannot do this diet casually. If you are not prepared to do that, this diet is not right for you.

Hey guys....I have tried all the diets out there...you name it, I've tried it. And yes, I lost some weight..but it took FOREVER and I need to see results fast to be motivated. Well, I lost 40 lbs. in 2 1/2 months...talk about motivation. It is NOT easy, guys...but when you are truly ready to make a positive change, it's worth every penny...YOU CAN DO IT!

As far as the program, we'll see. i started 32 dayts ago and have lost 28 pounds. I actually am having trouble eating as much as they want, simply because so many of the foods allowed are just not palatable without help. The NO salt, and 1 tBS of diet margarine or mayo per day does not lend itself to flavor on your plate. I would rather they remove the large amounts of sodium from the supplements and let me season my food. Can a tsp or 2 of olive oil really hurt? I unfortunately bought all of the EFAs and carb-blockers when I started, but I will now buy supllemental foods from the sites noted here. With football season here, a few adult beverages will definately be a temptation. Good luck to all...we'll see....

I joined QWL in May. My goal was to lose 40 lbs. I followed all the rules, took all the supplements etc. In 14 weeks I lost only 20 pounds, my hair started falling out and I have been continually sick. I told the counselors at the center repeatedly that I didn't feel well, my muscles & joints ached, I had a "brain fog", I felt dizzy, I was so tired I could hardly function etc. I also developed burning mouth syndrom which my dentist says is a result of poor nutrition. There response was to cut my calories even further by putting me on repeated "breaks". I quit the diet on my doctor's recommendation about a week and a half ago. I am hoping my hair will grow back and my mouth will stop burning. I have gained six pounds in the last week but at least I am beginning to feel better. I do not recommend this diet for anyone.

The QWL diet seems to be nothing more tnan a little more restrictive version of the south beach diet. Very low carb/sugar, protein and controlled portions. Pretty conmon sense for losing weight.

What great posts these all are!! I joined QWLC on 6/21/08.... As of yesterday (8/23/08 - 9 weeks) I am down 25.6 lbs!! My goal is to lost a total of 77 by 12/26/08. My initial cost was $628 and I did prepay for 5 weeks supplements at the "nutrition class." Does it work? - Absolutely! Dpes it take hours of planning & preparation? - Yep! I have already told my "counselors" that they will not see another penny from me! go to qwlc and look at their pill products and print the nutritional values from there. Take that to GNC and they will steer you towards a comparable, significantly less espensive item. AND if you join the GNC Gold card club you save an additional 20% the first week of every month. I get most of my supplements through nashuanutrition and I found that Costco carries some very comparable products - Zip whiz is a high energy, no sugar added energy drink that works so much better than quick boost and it is $27 for 30 compared to $27 for 14 of qwlc boost. At this point I am in it for the duration of my 26 weeks even though I am pretty sure they are hoping I will just go away and leave them alone! The products I am using from GNC - Double Strength Fish Oil for my EFA $14 - Carb Cutter/Phase 2 $28 - Burn 60 which is equivalent to the $135 qwlc metabolizer and is only $24!!! I also get my multi vitamin at Costco and like I said - I am down almost 26 in 9 weeks (avg 2.89 lbs) Oh, and I also found a wonderful; FREE site in which you enter your weight age etc and how much per week you want to lose and it tells you how many cal's per day you should eat and if you work qwlc around it (you can log every food and it provides nutritional vals) you are sure to lose. I shoot for 2.5 loss a week and as you can see I am avg just a little more than that. Good luk to all who are doing this and I hope this helps!

I'm beginning detox today, but I hate that they didn't give me an information sheet with the directions on it. Now I'm kicking myself for not writing it down. They said to use two of the items from the bag of goodies I paid for: the vitamins and ___________. I can't remember the other one. The Quick Boost? Herbal-Slim? EFA? I can't remember. Can someone help?

I did perfect on the weight loss program. It was hard!! But i was 191 and went down to 135!!! I was happy with the result, but I had a hard time keeping it off. They are too restrictive!! Once you get off the plan it can easliy become a yo-yo diet. I gain 35 lbs back!! I am devstated about it. My wedding is coming up and I don't know what to do!! I hate to start it over again. The second time around you find it to be disgusting and just want regular food like everyone else. It is not realistic to cut out major food group like milk. This is not a balance way of living. We need to make small changes and work on doing more exercises. Please be careful once you get off the plan. You will want every in sight that you couldn't have before. It could lead to bing eating. Anyway I have to find a better way of eating and not depriving myself. Please HELP!! Thanks for reading my comment.

I started QWL on June 18th and I have lost 17.5 pounds. It could have/would have been more but I went to Hawaii for a week and gained 7 pounds. I mean really, who stays on a diet while on vacation. Fortunately it only took me 2 weeks to get those 7 pounds off. I have to say I have NEVER been able to lose vacation or holiday weight off so quick or easy. Yes the program is expensive but it really does work. I wishi I would have forund Nashuanutrition.com befor I bought all my supplements. I could have saved myself a lot of money. At any rate, as costly as this has been, QWL is so worth it for me. I can see the finish line up ahead. I started out at 193.5 and now I'm at 176.00 Only 26 pounds to go and I have won and earned 5 extra weeks on the program. So that should make up for my slow weeks. 8 weeks down with an average of 2.19 per week. I have 10 weeks and 26 pounds to go. I am really excited about the program.

I'm 5 feet one inch, and I used to weigh around 124-126 pounds. I wasn't really over weigth, but I wanted to lose 15 or more pounds, most of my weight was on my butt and thigs and legs, which is really frustrating because buying clothes was always a nightmare. the top will fit, but the bottom was always too tight. so no pant suits. Anyway, I joined the center in florida on June 6. today is July 30. I weigh 111-113 pounds now. I must admit that I have cheated on the diet because I am weak, but I stopped eating at night. and my eating habits have changed tremendously. I've learned to make better choices, most of the times. Anyway, I lost 15 pounds and I feel like I'm sexy again. I'm a mother of three, and I love my body now. All my old clothes fit. at 42, I must say I never thought I would fit in my wedding dress again. I got married 21 years ago. It's been really great. The program works even if you only have a little bit of weight to lose. yes, it's expensive, but can you really put a price on your health and happiness?

Hello Everyone, Well I have been on plan one since June9 now. I have done the plan exactly as I am suppose to. I need only 2 proteins, 4 veggies, 3 fruits, 2 starches, 1 fat serving, 2 supplements and 80 oz of water per day. I have so far lost 6lbs. Oh and I excerise also, 3x weeks (cardio & lite weights) and 1 hour walk on weekends. Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong? The center that I go to have switched me back and forth from plan 1 and plan 2 because I excercise (and if you ask me, my exercising is what's helping my weight lost). While I was under plan 2 I felt like I was over eating and trying to eat all that was on my plate because I was to follow the plan exactly. I told this to the nutricionist and she asked me why am I doing that plan (2). That plan they give it to some one who is like 200lbs and I replied because I am following the other girls instructions under my file. I am really fustrated right about now, I am paying all this money for this diet that is just not working for me and they can't even figure it out, they keep telling me I'm hitting a plato but they can't even get me out of that plato. I don't even want to go to my weekly weigh in because I am scared of the scale now. Everytime I go it feels like such a let down, I know I'm doing this according to plan and I am not seeing the 3-7 lbs aweek as I was told. If only they would have given a 30 or 60 day trail because I am starting to think that this plan is not for everyone and I may be in that percentage that it does not work for. I should of just changed my eating habits and excersied as I am doing now and I would have gotten the same results for FREE or less expensive. You can purchase the supplements for alot less.

I joined an QWLC in Atlanta last week. I had been thinking about joining for about 6 months (I had visited a center in December but didn't join) and I have mixed feelings. Is it hard? It is very hard for me (but getting easier) I am 5'3 and I weighed 140, and want to get down to 120. They promised to take me to 115, so we'll see. It has been really hard for me to lose weight. I work out 5-6 days a week so really I knew that my eating was what had to change. I am surrounded by skinny family members who eat chips, ice cream, cookies, etc... to their heart's content and that has been the worst part about staying on this diet for a week. BUT - I have done it! I am so proud of myself fo resisting all the temptations around me, and I have lost 4 pounds. I am hoping not to stall out, so we will see what happens over the next few weeks. I didn't find the program that expensive. I got a good deal (about$200 for 7 weeks) and they didn't push any products on me other than what they said was necessary (the 2 supplements and the vitamins, which I thought were pretty cheap for a month's supply) The people at my center are really supportive and friendly and always answer all of my questions. I do worry about gaining all the weight back as soon as I go off the diet, but I also find that the diet is saving me money since I have to eat at home more often, and is actually making me feel better since I am eating a better balance of foods and healthier items. Like what has been said before, it is hard but if you stick with it you will generally be successful, I think. No pain no gain! Or in this case, loss...and on a side note I am so glad this forum exists! I had been looking everywhere for feedback on this program and this is a wonderful site!
