Do You Know the Best Diets of 2024?
Quick Weight Loss, founded in Florida, provides individualized weight loss therapy. The program boasts no exercise and you eat the foods you love including the diet program's own line of diet foods and herbal and thermogenic supplements.
Made popular by Rush Limbaugh who in 2009 lost a remarkable amount of weight in a short period of time following a Quick Weight Loss created just for him, this southern Florida company has helped many lose weight.
Currently, the only bricks and mortar Quick Weight Loss Centers are scattered around southern Florida but there is an online program that you can join from anywhere in the country. This home-based program is a six-week program in which you receive support and counseling via email and phone from Quick Weight Loss Center specialists.
Once you have signed up for either program, you work individually with a Quick Weight Loss Center expert in order to create your own customized diet plan.
In general, the Quick Weight Loss plan provides participants a diet that is low calorie (up to 1,500 calories/day). You buy the foods you like to make and supplement with Quick Weight Loss brand's bars, beverages, soups as well as supplement s that are intended to facilitate weight loss.
You can expect to lose three to seven pounds each week while following the Quick Weight Loss Center programs.
- Doctor clearance shows they are being responsible
Helped Rush Limbaugh lose 80 pounds in 2009
Offers an individualized program to weight loss
One-on-one support provides motivation and accountability
- Weight loss claims may be exaggerated
- Required to buy program's special line of foods increases costs
- Herbal supplements and other stimulants are required
- Supplements do not require FDA approval; check with your doctor before taking
- Brick and mortar locations are limited to southern Florida and Texas
- Low calorie diet plan may lead to rebound weight gain
- Diet program rules are not scientifically founded
While all Quick Weight Loss Center diets are custom-designed, there are a few benchmark features that are applied to every participant's diet.
Most diet plans include a low-calorie and low-fat daily eating plan that is comprised of about 1,500 calories a day.
And while the company remains pretty hush-hush about what their diet looks like, a few secrets slipped through the cracks thanks to Rush's public discussion about his experience with Quick Weight Loss Centers.
There are a host of other food rules that you must abide by while following the program such as eating green peppers but not red bell peppers and not combining two different kinds of proteins in one meal. For instance you can have seven ounces of grilled chicken breast but not three ounces of white fish and four ounces of turkey breast in one meal. In addition, alcohol, sugar, refined flours and fried foods are not allowed.
You can also supplement with Quick Weight Loss Centers proprietary foods which can be purchased online or at one of the Center's Florida locations. Such foods include special puddings, shake mixes, nutrition bars, soups and oatmeal.
In addition, you are also encouraged to take Quick Weight Loss Centers own line of dietary supplements like essential fatty acids, herbs and carb blockers, all of which are supposed to facilitate speedy weight loss.
You can engage in moderate exercise while following the Quick Weight Loss Center diet but hard-core exercise is not a strong feature of this plan.
Made popular almost overnight by conservative radio-host Rush Limbaugh who lost 80 pounds in just a few months, Quick Weight Loss Centers is a Florida-based customized diet plan that helps you lose weight quickly with its low-calorie and highly structured eating plan. But it is exactly this stringent plan that lands this diet in the category of countless other plans that take off a lot of weight in a short amount of time and then risks gaining it all back once you are no longer on the plan.
But with this rather mysterious diet plan filled with specific eating rules and special supplements that contain hoodia and ephedra-like stimulants, you might want to think twice about spending the money on Quick Weight Loss Center and instead think about incorporating more natural, practical and long-term strategies for successful weight loss.

I joined QWLC in S. Florida, I needed to do it faster than 1 to 2 pounds a week. It is very expensive. The diet itself is okay, lost 7 pounds in the first few days (water weight, they say fat too, but highly doubt that) so we'll see how the rest goes. Tried to sell me supplements and got annoyed when I wouldn't buy as much as they thought I should. When I wouldn't buy the supplements from the first person, they sent in someone else to talk me into buying things I didn't need or want. It's definitely a high-pressure sales pitch, so be prepared. The diet is like Weight Watchers used to be many years ago before points. Unfortunately, you cannot get your money back.

Like people have said. Buying their supplements is optional. If they keep asking you to buy them, just say "I already have some, or I will buy some later." Most of them will not put much pressure on you at all since they are really there for checking your weight and measures as well as blood pressure. If they notice you are losing weight at an odd pace (too fast or too slow) they generally try to figure out what is going on in a detailed manner. I lost about 80 lbs on this program when I was younger, then went off to college and became irresponsible again and got it back and then some. So I decided to go back. Never a good thing to hear, but I was not mature enough to maintain a healthy diet. It's my fault not theirs. They are good people at my location and I find it rewarding and an enjoyable experience.

Attending QWLC in S.FL. Going into my second week. I too have mixed feelings. To begin, I too did NOT like how they hide the 'extra' costs. I too feel it is unfair that if you pay in full, (yes I did) you do not have atleast a few days to change your mind and get a full refund. It is VERY expensive! If I would have known I would have NOT done the plan. I also do NOT like how they make it seem this is an EASY plan. IT IS NOT! You must ONLY eat what is on the plan and ONLY as much of it as they allow. (it is not much) You have to take the pills otherwise you feel like your going to go crazy!!!! It is not like weight watchers were everything has points. It is VERY restrictive! You must also, weigh, measure and count how many proteins, starches, fats, fruits, veggies per day. AND NOT surpass the daily allowance of each. You also cannot eat some of the supplements after certain times during the day. Which makes it hard for some of us who work crazy hours! That being said ANYONE that thinks it is easy... your highly mistaken. Those people must not work and have the time to do all of this. I have struggled to get into some routine to follow this plan by the book. I have done so, again it is NOT easy. I have not cheated, I have done everything they have told me. So on the other hand IT WORKS. I have lost 6 pounds so far in 1 week. I am still skeptical, maybe that is just water weight??? They have promised me 45 pounds (my goal) in 16 weeks. So, if I have to struggle for 16 weeks, I will because of the money I have spent that I cannot get back !!! If I could I would switch back to Jenny Craig (where I lost 40 pounds in 8 months). Or I would choose Weight Watchers. Those 2 plans are much easier.

Hi, I am an active member of the quick weight loss center in south Flroida. On one hand I'm very angry with them on the other hand I'm am very happy with my weight loss. To sum it up I feel they take advantage of desprete fat people for lot's of money. They don't give you anything, and as far as your opinion is concerned I also feel they are very deceptive. I responded to an ad that said they were cheaper than weight watchers. Well I'm into it for over $4000.00. Part of it is on a credit card they push called Care Credit which is GE money bank at 30% interest. At the same time I am down 85 lbs. My short term memory is not that great but I can basicly tell you how I was sold. I walk in there I was 291 lbs. My heart was beating fast and I was desprete. They guarnteed me 116 lbs weight loss in 39 weeks if I follow there diet. I was interviewed and for some reason just to get into the program it costed $600.00. After that I went to some orentation about there products. Before I went to there oreintation I did read on the reciept that after you go and find out about there products and how their diet works you cannot get your oringanl $600.00 back. I was so desprete that I ingored it. I went for the orientation and they spoke about there bars, pills, soups etc. and you think ok it's not that much in cost. Afterward the orentation they tried to sell me a whole program supply for over $3000.00 I just went numb knowing that I can't even get my $600.00 Back. Well I tried to get out of it by saying I don't have a credit card so they sold me on there credit card saying it's defered interest for 3 months. I personally have a problem with the math I can't think fast in my head but I do believe I laid out something like $1000.00 worth of supplies. In my mind I thought that would last. Hell no. I went through that maybe in a month or two. Well it's approxomitly 7 months now and Im maxed out on my chase card and my care credit card for what pudding, 1 oz of prezels, candy cars packets of soup etc. I also have there pills such as carb blockers, fish oil and there appitite supprestents. Some how or other I was also sold very early on for the platium member ship which I don't even know how much it costed. But that allows me to have a life time member ship at this place. So if I get fat again I can go back for free ( but not for the pills and bars, shakes) I know I must of went through 4 rounds of suppresents at 135 each plus all of the other pills averging about 39.00. plus their bars. I ask them what happens if I buy the stuff at GNC or walmart etc they say I can still get weighed in but they won't guarantee the weight loss. I do look great. and I'm happy about that. they also have what they call a weight mataince program. I ask them to show me it. They won't do that until I reach my goal weight which is 25 lbs lighter then what I am now. Part of me knows this diet and is saying to myself maybe I should just go to weight watchers now. But for some reaosn I'm so afraid to go off this diet. I don't want to gain the weight back. I don't konw how much an affect their products had on my weight loss. Another issue that they don't address is the food addciton problem that I have. I used to goto OA and in OA they stress no sugar, Wheat Flower. The reason for that is because it does trigger a food addict to eat more. The bars the quick weight loss center sells you does have some sugar in them and I'm usually ok. Yes I have bindged on them but I went right back on and took the weight off. The motovator for me is the amount of money I spent. But what happens when I'm off the diet and reached my goal weight. How does Greg Celebrate all ready in my head I"m saying pizza, burgers etc and I know it's wrong. I would also like a diet program that would allow me to eat a little more. I am on the road all day doing service work for customers and their computers and part of the diet plan is not to have deli meat because it has perservatives, and salt. There are days where I go with only one meal because it's very hard to find a restarunt that will sell you pure food like turkey off the frame, fish with no salt, or even a 5.5 ounce steak. I have dlet with some of the owners of these restaurnts and they have agreed to adjust the way they cook it for me but trust me it's few and far. The diet works but it's not an easy diet and the price you pay is a bargin compaird to surgery. However $4000.00 as of now and all they do phyically is weigh you in and ask about the pills you take weigh you and give you a blood pressure test. There are no support groups, They don't address food addiction, and the products they sell you is over priced here is an example of the food prices 6 bags of pretzels $15.00 they are in 1 ounce bags, 6 bags of mini crisps $15.00 again one ounce, Dream bars 6 of them $15.00. Engery boost 39.00 - appatite supprsents 135.00 carb blockers and fish oil $39.00 Pudding 6 packets $15.00 Be aware You can go through this stuff in 1 week the pills you can go though in a month. It looks cheap but you consume a lot. with the carb blockers you take 3 a day fish oil you take 6 a day. so it's a lot. App suppressents you take 2 a day. Over all it works if you work it but at the same time like mom says any diet works if you stick with it. I feel more angry about feeling taken advantage of because of my despiration about my weight. But I'm happy about the weight loss. But I have an issue of some company taking so much profit off someones misury and getting you by being decepitve.

I just started my fourth week today. I am following the plan exactly and not cheating at all. I have only lost six pounds. The first three pounds were during the first three day cleansing period. The second three pounds were during a three day protein break. I pre paid and spent almost $1300 for everything. I am currently about six pounds behind. I wish I had never signed on for such an expensive diet that isn?t working for me. Not only that but the only answer I get when I go in three times a week is that ?this isn?t normal?. They keep saying most people lose the weight. They have not been able to offer a solution for people like me who do not?

I did this plan years ago. Do you still have to eat only meat, lettuce, and oranges for the first three days before starting the diet?

I have to say...I joined a week ago and have lost 7 pounds! Wow! I have tried everything under the sun (WW, Atkins, Cabbage diet, liquid this and that...I exercise-Gosh) Anyhow the staff are wonderful and so supportive. I was total hyped to se 7 pounds gone and I am following to the letter (you are talking to the girl who can lose 5 pounds week 1 and gain 3 of it back in week 2). It is a little tough to wrap your brain around at first but then you get the hang of it. I am so ready to do this once and for all and they can help. I am already learning new habits. Also I have to say for someone who has an ENORMOUS sweet tooth I really have not been craving. If you follow to the letter you can not go wrong. Starting Week 2 tomorrow. SO...is is costly? Yah. Is it worth it? OH YAH!!! I will figure this out one way or the other...And for the question about is Protein bad for you...NO! Keep in mind you will get reagular foods added back in on stabilization. Drink your water and follow your plan and you can not go wrong!

I started a week and 3 days ago and have lost 7 /12 pounds so far. I have to say I am surprised, I was quite skeptical so I went with the bottom level plan. The supplements caught me off guard as well--but I have to say I am QUITE PLEASED.

I have been on this plan now for 6 weeks and only lost 10 pounds. So far this has cost me close to 1200 with all the supplements you have to buy. I don't know, I think I got caught up in all the hype. Some people lose on this program some people like myself don't. However, I am not giving up yet. Invested way too much. We shall see I am supposed to be thirty pounds lighter by the end of May. At this rate I dont have much confidence that that is going to happen.

Just started last week and have felt like I walked into an infomercial from the first phone call. No so happy with the cust serv, but I know it will work. My Mom-in-law and friend both completed the program with great success. They push hard to buy product from them, but fortunately I did know about these sites before hand, but getting them off my back about spending more money at the center looks like it's going to be an endless battle. I'd have to say I would not recommend the River Oaks, TX location at this moment.

I have been on their plan for 2 (of 5) months, but I can already tell I'm not going to reach my goal. I have followed the plan pretty accurately, but my weight loss is closer to 2.5 pounds a week instead of the 3+ they promised. Now, that being said, I enjoy the plan. I feel like I'm eating a lot healthier and establishing habits that will benefit me long term if I keep them in mind as I go forward. I just wish they'd either be frank and make recommendations that would boost my weight loss, or they would have been more accurate with their projection.

wish i would've read this before going to qwlc, Im doing good only been on it for almost 2weeks now and lost 11pounds but man i would've saved so much money going to these other websites to purchase supplments. However, I am happy with them so far they are very supportive, show so much interest in helping me achieve my weight loss and very very curtious, I love the staff.I'm gald I am with them b/c I reached a desperate point in my life where i had to do something and do fast, I still need to loose 72 pounds hopefully in 26 weeks and then i go on their maintance plan to also hopefully show me and help me how to keep the weight off for life!

you can buy the same bars, puddings, drinks, dressings for a lot less at barriatricchoice.com. Regarding the bars, we were already buying other brands bars and they were often more expensive than the price per bar in the box at the quantity price at qwl center. i have kept 45 lbs off from almost 2 yrs ago. I am now going to go for an additional 14 lbs.

I just started the plan. I have been looking online and you can buy some of the suppliments/pills on ebay. I was a little suprised by the hidden cost, but honestly I was expecting something to be hidden. I think that it will be worth it when I am down to 120 LBS in 10 weeks!!!!!

does anyone know where to find the quick boost drinks? It's been a struggle for me to stick to the plan-busy mom of three. Very expensive in my opinion. Really appreciate the recommended websites for products-looking into them.

I have been on the QWLC program for 1 year and have lost 135 pounds. It is an easy plan to follow and suits my situation since I travel on business a lot.
