Do You Know the Best Diets of 2024?
Quick Weight Loss, founded in Florida, provides individualized weight loss therapy. The program boasts no exercise and you eat the foods you love including the diet program's own line of diet foods and herbal and thermogenic supplements.
Made popular by Rush Limbaugh who in 2009 lost a remarkable amount of weight in a short period of time following a Quick Weight Loss created just for him, this southern Florida company has helped many lose weight.
Currently, the only bricks and mortar Quick Weight Loss Centers are scattered around southern Florida but there is an online program that you can join from anywhere in the country. This home-based program is a six-week program in which you receive support and counseling via email and phone from Quick Weight Loss Center specialists.
Once you have signed up for either program, you work individually with a Quick Weight Loss Center expert in order to create your own customized diet plan.
In general, the Quick Weight Loss plan provides participants a diet that is low calorie (up to 1,500 calories/day). You buy the foods you like to make and supplement with Quick Weight Loss brand's bars, beverages, soups as well as supplement s that are intended to facilitate weight loss.
You can expect to lose three to seven pounds each week while following the Quick Weight Loss Center programs.
- Doctor clearance shows they are being responsible
Helped Rush Limbaugh lose 80 pounds in 2009
Offers an individualized program to weight loss
One-on-one support provides motivation and accountability
- Weight loss claims may be exaggerated
- Required to buy program's special line of foods increases costs
- Herbal supplements and other stimulants are required
- Supplements do not require FDA approval; check with your doctor before taking
- Brick and mortar locations are limited to southern Florida and Texas
- Low calorie diet plan may lead to rebound weight gain
- Diet program rules are not scientifically founded
While all Quick Weight Loss Center diets are custom-designed, there are a few benchmark features that are applied to every participant's diet.
Most diet plans include a low-calorie and low-fat daily eating plan that is comprised of about 1,500 calories a day.
And while the company remains pretty hush-hush about what their diet looks like, a few secrets slipped through the cracks thanks to Rush's public discussion about his experience with Quick Weight Loss Centers.
There are a host of other food rules that you must abide by while following the program such as eating green peppers but not red bell peppers and not combining two different kinds of proteins in one meal. For instance you can have seven ounces of grilled chicken breast but not three ounces of white fish and four ounces of turkey breast in one meal. In addition, alcohol, sugar, refined flours and fried foods are not allowed.
You can also supplement with Quick Weight Loss Centers proprietary foods which can be purchased online or at one of the Center's Florida locations. Such foods include special puddings, shake mixes, nutrition bars, soups and oatmeal.
In addition, you are also encouraged to take Quick Weight Loss Centers own line of dietary supplements like essential fatty acids, herbs and carb blockers, all of which are supposed to facilitate speedy weight loss.
You can engage in moderate exercise while following the Quick Weight Loss Center diet but hard-core exercise is not a strong feature of this plan.
Made popular almost overnight by conservative radio-host Rush Limbaugh who lost 80 pounds in just a few months, Quick Weight Loss Centers is a Florida-based customized diet plan that helps you lose weight quickly with its low-calorie and highly structured eating plan. But it is exactly this stringent plan that lands this diet in the category of countless other plans that take off a lot of weight in a short amount of time and then risks gaining it all back once you are no longer on the plan.
But with this rather mysterious diet plan filled with specific eating rules and special supplements that contain hoodia and ephedra-like stimulants, you might want to think twice about spending the money on Quick Weight Loss Center and instead think about incorporating more natural, practical and long-term strategies for successful weight loss.

I have also gone to QWLC about 17 years ago. Will someone tell me how the plan has changed. I weigh 150 and want to get down to 125. Is there someone out there that is willing to give me the diet. I really can't afford to go back.

I am starting this diet this week and my hopes are up. As far as paying money for the pills and food (Bars & Shakes)...well I could still spend that money on foods I don't need and clothes to continue covering my ever growing rear end, OR stop buying foods I don't need, buying extra food that I am over eating, and do something to HELP myself and start buying smaller clothes! NO diet is or should be easy! QWL is about losing weight, being healthy, and doing your body right. I'll post what happens!

Ive been on this plan for 33 days and have lost 21 lbs. I find it easy to follow and the plan pays for itself because I eat out less often.

I just started QWLC program a week ago and lost almost 9 pounds in the first week. I was feeling so angry when I realized about all the hidden costs and stuff that must buy because "each pill/vitamin will help you loose weight". Anyway I am happy though cause this is what I was needing. I need to loose about 65 pounds so you all can imagine that it is very diddicult to do it on your own. If you go to a nutricionist, each time you will be paying aroung 150 bucks. I really recommend this program if you need to loose a lot of weight. If its only 10 or 20 pounds, you can definitely find something cheaper on the market. I also realize that you can buy their supplements on dietdirect.com at 9.99 instead of 15 dollars they want to charge you. I really hopes this is the last diet I will try in my life.

red lady, which bars do you buy? I can't fig out which ones are the same as the QWLC bars? Or do you just use whichever ones you like based on flavor?

I want to thank all of you for being so honest about this plan. I started this plan a week ago and I did lose 3lbs during the 3 day cleaning period. Now I started the diet plan and I have gained a pound. They told me to drink more water. I already drink 5 bottles of 20oz water bottles a day, plus the quick boost drinks and I excercise. I take all of their supplements and vitamins (which by the way are constipating me). I go into the center and all they do is weigh me. They do not measure to see if I have lost any inches and the last time I was there, they did not take a blood pressure check. I am going to stick with the plan, since I cannot get my money back. And hopefully I will lose the lbs that I want to in the time giving. I need to go down to 130-127lbs, right now I'm at 153. I will not let them talk me into buying their supplements anymore after reading the messages posted on here and finding out that I can purchase them cheaper somewhere else. I thank you. Does anyone else feel like the dietry pills are constipating them? Has anyone ever not take them on the plan? Please let me know. I hope thank I can reach my goal by this August.

I have been on plan for 6 wks now, and yes, when i went in if felt like i was being sold a used car, so i didn't join at first, but my co-worker was melting away and i did go back and join. I've been averaging 3.5 per wk. But what no one seems to mention as far as WHY this WORKS is that you stick to it! WHY? because you are so closely monitored. other programs i've tried didn't work because of that 1x wk weigh in...so i would cheat right after the weigh in. That, i believe, is the difference with QWLC. Funny thing is....even the "nutritionists" at the center don't tell you that.

I have been on the plan for 4 months and am down 27 pounds. 27 pounds I have tried everything to lose. The diet works. You can contain costs by not signing up for the maintenance and the other year-long what-ever-they-call-it. Also, I do not take any of their diet pills of any sort. I purchase the bars and other nutrition suppements through DietDirect.com. They have a wider selection of flavors, and you can get them for $8/box, rather than $15. I am working through a Georgia franchise, and the people are wonderful, supportive, and do not "push" products on us.

TO DEE: FYI BEWARE I called in the morning of the 3rd day to cancel, it made me sick. They told me out of the $700. I would ONLY get back $130. So obviously, I did not cancel, and if you read my last post I am still unhappy. Is there anything I can do now?

OK UPDATE... This plan is HORRIBLE! Do NOT join! Bottom line...EXPENSIVE MANY ADDED FEES, SLOWER than promised, NOT for a busy WORKING person! VERY RESTRICTIVE! If you read above I am the girl who they told you can do this plan without veggies. Well I have not eaten any, but I am only down 9 pounds and going on the 8th week! I have followed this thing like an angel. I was drinking too much water 11-15 per day. So I did bring it back to 10 and I lost A pound, but that was 3 weeks ago! I am now stuck again. I am also STARVING, tired, and weak! I went to my doctor on Friday. I showed her my 'journal'. She was furious. Because I do not eat any veggies they have me on 2 of the vitamins per day. (which yes, adds more money to this already expensive plan) Anyway, they have NOT added anymore food! So my calorie intake is only 650-700 per day! My doctor said due to my height and weight I should be on at least a 1200 calorie intake per day. And because I walk everyday (30 min) I should possibly up 1200 to 1300. She also stated, I am also low on my iorn. When I told Quick Weightloss, they said that I sould get an iron PILLfor my iorn. And as far as the calorie intake I would have to eat the veggies and they will check to see what else I can do! I DO NOT EAT VEGGIES! IT IS A PHOBIA, yes I know it sounds crazy, but I swear I HAVE TRIED! I CANNOT DO IT! I was FURIOUS, I spent all this money under false pretenses, and I cannot get any of my money back, and on top of it I have to KEEP spending! JOKE JOKE JOKE, I wish I would have gone to Weight Watchers! At the advice of my doctor I did join Weight Watchers online. I am going to follow my points, and I will also keep attending QWLC. I will not have any of the foods that QWLC restricts. I will also follow their limited foods on the day(s) they also say in their plan. BUT I AM NOT HAPPY! My advice eat like a normal person just with portion control, and go to Weight Watchers! MUCH cheaper, and MUCH easier! Just in 2 days I have lost 2 pounds! :o)

In Florida, there is a three-day cooling off period. If you sign a contract, any contract, you have up to three days to cancel.

I joined QWLC 6 weeks ago and have lost about 7 pounds. I have been very dedicated to following the plan aside from 1 small bag or doritos. The 7 day break was mentioned to me in order to boost my metabolism which is very slow. What is the 7 day protein break exactly because they won't tell me and it is ticking me off.

I was on the program for 22 weeks and I did loose 15 pounds. I would not recommed it to anyone. You are pressured to buy your products up front along with all of their pills. I told them I was on bloodpressure medicine and they said I had to take the metabilizer and they wanted me to take their vitamins. They had me go on a grapefruit diet to speed up my weight loss and I told them that because I was on blood pressure medication I should not eat grapefruit and I was told "Oh it isn't that much". How do they know how much is to much for a person with high blood pressure. When I went to LA Weight Loss which changed their name to Pure Weight Loss and then they went out of business, I was never even asked to take their pills since they knew I was on medications. I did buy the food suppliments and I lost 30 pounds in 22 weeks. Quick Weight Loss did ask for a list of my medications but they never seemed to worry about it when pushing their pills. They were not encouraging enough when you lost a pound they wanted you to loose 2.5 to 4 lbs a week before anything was said. La Weight loss would cheer you on no matter how much weight you lost. They didn't encourage you to excerise which is very important when your trying to loose weight. Thanks for posting this and make sure you research the company before you start, just don't rely on radio commercials to sell you on the center.

Just came back from my first QWLC "Nutritional Class" and I have to laugh; this was not a class but a high-pressure sales pitch where I was told all of the products that I would have to buy and should buy now in bulk to save $$$. When I became annoyed and told my "nutritionist" that there was no way I was purchasng any more of their products, she excused herself and sent in a much tougher salesperson to try to break me. I explained that I was only there to lose 12 pounds very quickly, and I had already lost three in the first three days on the "cleansing" part, and if I divided the amount of pounds by the amount of $$$ they wanted me to spend, it would be over $100 per pound! As it is, I am spending over $50 per pound, but I really couldn't figure out how to drop it as quickly anywhere else as they guarantee me that I will lose it in the next four weeks, meaning the first four weeks of products were included in my $600 sign-up, and then my only obligation legally is to purchase 2 more products at $15 each, so I am done with their products for now. Do NOT let them tell you to sign up for their Care Card! It is a horrible card with outrageous rates! Simply tell them you have terrible credit and can't afford to apply for any more cards, or that you have been a victim of identity theft and can't sign up for any cards. Also tell them you are maxxed out on your other cards, and that you will have to save up and purchase the products later without the discount... They will leave you alone when they realize they can't get blood from a stone, so you really have to lay it on just as thick as they do... But the diet IS working so far, and right now, $50+ a pound is reasonable for me considering my circumstances; you just have to add it up and decide if the cost is worth it for you. I would appreciate it if somebody could post the other names that the QWLC brands are also sold under, and where are the best places to get them? I especially like the Quick Boost and the Gold XTRM, but just on principal I don't want to enforce their sales techniques by buying it from them! Please list where else I can go and what they are called elsewhere! Thanks so much for posting, too!

Luckily, I did my research before going in to the center. If you're not aware of the costs, you will be caught completely off guard and just dive into it without too much thought because they don't give you time for much else. I signed up for the program with my husband and I can honestly say that it's been worth every penny. Although my weight loss is not that dastric because I didn't have all that much too loose, I did it for my husband because he's needing to loose about 60 lbs. First week alone he was down 10 and has lost a total of 40 lbs in 3 months. The plan is easy to follow once you get used to it and you can buy the supplements and pills through other websites at lower prices. I purchased a package of supplements through diet direct and buying in bulk, I spent about $8 a box, compared to the center's $15 per box. I also started buying the carb blockers, efa's and vitamins at a local vitamin store and spend half the money. The only thing I haven't been able to find is their "quick boost" but I don't really think it's necessary for the weight loss although my husband and I did feel a bit hungrier when we didn't use it for a week. Be prepared when you go for your "nutritional class" because that's when they try to make you buy all the products and as someone said earlier, they'll tag team you into buying! Just say you do not need them at the moment because you already have or you'll be buying them later. Stick to your guns, they're good. I do love most of the staff there. The girls are really sweet and super encouraging, although one or two seem super fake. Hope this helps anyone thinking about this diet. Oh, another thing...we went on vacation for a week and did not follow a single step of the diet. My husband gained 8 lbs....but he has lost 9 lbs in 5 days since we've returned. Good luck!

For Tricia: Yes!, you will find the "Quick boost Drinks" cheaper on Ebay! (about $19.99).... For Kitty: Yes, the "Detox Diet" for three days, still the same, but they already include 2 supplements on this diet, but no bars...just puddings or shakes....yes, the meats, the oranges, and 2 shakes or 2 puddings or one shake and one pudding! I'm doing this diet, and I already buy the products from the web "Diet Direct" and "Nashuanutrition.com" , but all the products are the same, but they "change" the names! ....now I buy a box (7 servings of shakes) for $9.99 on dietdirect.com vs. $15.00 (7 servings of shakes) at the QWL Center....compare!!! and good luck!

For Kitty: I forgot to tell you, that you could eat for 3 days (Detox Diet) not only lettuce, meat and oranges...and 2 supplements....you could eat: Unlimited green raw salad vegetables, except peas!, Unlimited proteins(meat, poultry, fish and shellfish), 2 eggs per day or a substitute such as Egg Beaters for Breakfast, Diet Soda (two 12 oz. cans of clear diet soda, no colas), Coffee(2 regulars, 4 decaffeinated), Tea (2 regular, 4 decaffinated) Use Morton Lite Salt - 1/4 to 1/2 t. sprinkled over food. Water (10 8oz. glasses). Proteins: Steak, hamburger, roast, veal, lamb, chicken, turkey, fish, shrimp, lobster and scallops. (Chicken and turkey can be cooked with skin, but absolutely no batters or breading; fish or shellfish can be broiled or basted with butter, oil or margarine). NOTE: During this phase the following are NOT permitted: fruit juices, cooked vegetables, bread, milk, or cheese, deli meats, peas, pasta, pork, and condiments such as mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup. Additional foods will be introduced in the next phase of the program. Remember this "Detox Diet" is just for 3 days....you could loose from 3-6 lbs.... Then...you will start the QWL Center diet, includes, fruits, veggies, bread, eggs, lean meats, supplements, etc.
