Do You Know the Best Diets of 2024?

BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND

Quick Weight Loss, founded in Florida, provides individualized weight loss therapy. The program boasts no exercise and you eat the foods you love including the diet program's own line of diet foods and herbal and thermogenic supplements.

Made popular by Rush Limbaugh who in 2009 lost a remarkable amount of weight in a short period of time following a Quick Weight Loss created just for him, this southern Florida company has helped many lose weight.

Currently, the only bricks and mortar Quick Weight Loss Centers are scattered around southern Florida but there is an online program that you can join from anywhere in the country. This home-based program is a six-week program in which you receive support and counseling via email and phone from Quick Weight Loss Center specialists.

Once you have signed up for either program, you work individually with a Quick Weight Loss Center expert in order to create your own customized diet plan.

In general, the Quick Weight Loss plan provides participants a diet that is low calorie (up to 1,500 calories/day). You buy the foods you like to make and supplement with Quick Weight Loss brand's bars, beverages, soups as well as supplement s that are intended to facilitate weight loss.

You can expect to lose three to seven pounds each week while following the Quick Weight Loss Center programs.

PROPRO
  • Doctor clearance shows they are being responsible
  • Helped Rush Limbaugh lose 80 pounds in 2009

  • Offers an individualized program to weight loss

  • One-on-one support provides motivation and accountability

CONCON
  • Weight loss claims may be exaggerated
  • Required to buy program's special line of foods increases costs
  • Herbal supplements and other stimulants are required
  • Supplements do not require FDA approval; check with your doctor before taking
  • Brick and mortar locations are limited to southern Florida and Texas
  • Low calorie diet plan may lead to rebound weight gain
  • Diet program rules are not scientifically founded
DIET and NUTRITIONDIET and NUTRITION

While all Quick Weight Loss Center diets are custom-designed, there are a few benchmark features that are applied to every participant's diet.

Most diet plans include a low-calorie and low-fat daily eating plan that is comprised of about 1,500 calories a day.

And while the company remains pretty hush-hush about what their diet looks like, a few secrets slipped through the cracks thanks to Rush's public discussion about his experience with Quick Weight Loss Centers.

There are a host of other food rules that you must abide by while following the program such as eating green peppers but not red bell peppers and not combining two different kinds of proteins in one meal. For instance you can have seven ounces of grilled chicken breast but not three ounces of white fish and four ounces of turkey breast in one meal. In addition, alcohol, sugar, refined flours and fried foods are not allowed.

You can also supplement with Quick Weight Loss Centers proprietary foods which can be purchased online or at one of the Center's Florida locations. Such foods include special puddings, shake mixes, nutrition bars, soups and oatmeal.

In addition, you are also encouraged to take Quick Weight Loss Centers own line of dietary supplements like essential fatty acids, herbs and carb blockers, all of which are supposed to facilitate speedy weight loss.

EXERCISEEXERCISE

You can engage in moderate exercise while following the Quick Weight Loss Center diet but hard-core exercise is not a strong feature of this plan.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

Made popular almost overnight by conservative radio-host Rush Limbaugh who lost 80 pounds in just a few months, Quick Weight Loss Centers is a Florida-based customized diet plan that helps you lose weight quickly with its low-calorie and highly structured eating plan. But it is exactly this stringent plan that lands this diet in the category of countless other plans that take off a lot of weight in a short amount of time and then risks gaining it all back once you are no longer on the plan.

But with this rather mysterious diet plan filled with specific eating rules and special supplements that contain hoodia and ephedra-like stimulants, you might want to think twice about spending the money on Quick Weight Loss Center and instead think about incorporating more natural, practical and long-term strategies for successful weight loss.

Hi Kelly,

They block ppl from listing their email address here for some reason. I posted aready, the 3 day detox with the food list for that and also the comprehensive food list you will go by after the 3 days. Just scroll down a bit and you will find it, cut and paste it. For the nutrinal supplements, go to directdirect.com. You can get the multivitamin, the EFA, the card blocker, the hoodia, the protein bars and the pudding shake mixes. The vitamin boost drink you can get at Walgreens I know for sure, it is called Slimquick and it will be were the diet supplements are. After you do the 3 day detox which is all raw greens, protein and 1 orange per day, and lots of water, you will begin the regular diet phase. Make sure you have a good scale, mine has body fat info on it too and trust me it is great to see the numbers going down but even better when you can see the amount of actual fat weight you are losing. By decreasing the amount of carbs, fat and salt you eat, your body goes after the fat stored to produce energy and that is the key here. Lose fat!!
So here is what you will follow after the 3 days:
> You should eat the following each day from your Comprehensive Food List:
> 2 Proteins
> 4 Vegetables
> 3 Fruits
> 2 Starches
> 1 Fat
> 2 Supplements (1 protein bar and 1 pudding/shake powder)
> 1/4 tsp of Mortons Lite Salt
> 80 oz of H2O
> In addition breakfast each morning should be:
> 3/4 cup shredded wheat or all bran cereal
> 8 oz of skim milk
> 1 egg or egg beater
2 Gold (hoodia) a day 1 at breakfast 1 at lunch
2 Quick boost (slimquick vitamin drinks) any time a day (before 7:00 p.m.)
2 EFA??s at each meal 6 a day (the EFA from diet direct you only need 4 per day)
1 carb blocker 20 min prior to Break, lunch, and dinner
1 multi vit at breakfast (the multi vitamin from diet direct you??ll need 2 a day)

If all this comes through, I will then give you item #'s of stuff I purchased through dietdirect based on comparing the ingredients to the stuff they puch on you from their website. :) Good luck, I am down 10lbs at the end of the 3rd week, with 5.6 of them being fat.

Hi everyone-
I have just reached a all time high weight and something has to give. I am reading your reviews and trying to piece together you plan but it is kind of difficult. I really need to loose 25 pounds and need to get started ASAP....if I have to look at myself in christmas pictures I might just be ill. Would anyone be willing to shoot me an email about their plan and how to get these supplements you are talking about at the best price. It all sounds good. I see people posting who are loosing 7 pounds in 2 weeks and so on and I am very anxious to give this a try! I live in the midwest so I dont have access to the company but it sounds like its high presure sales and pretty expensive so I would like to do it the way you guys are. Please email me and put "Kelly here's the weight loss plan" in the subject box. Then hopefully I can spot it in my junk filter. Thank you Thank you Thank you to anyone who is willing to help me!

I liked the weight loss part of it. I lost 37 lbs then 15 shy of my weight loss goal stuck on. I did go to the dentist and they said i had no cavities or any plaque. it is a very healthy diet and i felt great on it. however once the diet phase is over, you enter a maintenance phase and by that time i was burned out on eating the same all the time. i also had to eat seperate from my family. i got really burned out. then i gaine a lot of my weight back. trying to get back on it with no support is very hard. i got the lifetime "MAINTENANCE" but that does not help me in the diet phase. I have to pay for that all over again. when i try to get on it again, the only thing i can suggest to help others in the supplements --they have great 100 calorie packs out there. that can be used. i still lost some weight when i was doing the diet again and using the that as the supplements. mainly its all about self control, cutting back and making right choices and getting out there and doing exercise each day of some form.

Hi Joedirt, so after 8 weeks how are the 3 of you doing on the program? I am in my second week and down 7.5 lbs (4.1 of which is body fat according to my scale). I am doing the program at home and by way of supplementsI only take a multivitamin and and 2 "hoodia" pills, both of which I got from dietdirect after matching the ingredients. The only thing I bought from the rep was the Quick Boost drinks and I like them, but where can you get them cheaper? I looked on diet direct but did not find anything similar. I posted the 3 day detox program and food list for all who have asked for it. That is the only thing to date I have received from my online rep.
Is there more written material that I don't have that could make a bigger difference for me? Would love to know. Thanks

Been on for over 8 Weeks now...and I have some info to share
Quick boost 30.00 - is the same a FRS Energy...and costs between 15.00 and 20.00
dietdirect sells the supplement for much cheaper the crispy 15 is what we eat..the Wondeslim are the same as what they sell in the clinic
nashuanutrition and iherb
3 of us are on the program and the cost of the supplements and Quick boost would run me 180.00 a week if I bought from the clinic...using these websites I am spending 105.00 a week instead...We did NOT put anything on a Credit Card and only paid for the Diet/starter pack...and then bought a few supplements to appease our Sales rep...we have never bought anything from them further ...we are doing well...
This could have cost me well over 4,000 dollars....riperjoe over at yahoo dot com is how I can be reached. I would like to hear more from the ex Employees...

I just wanted to comment on what Dee said about how they are trained to make the clients feel bad about themselves in order to sell products. I just joined a few days ago with my Mom. I want to lose 15 pounds, but I am definitely not considered overweight/fat. My BMI is 24.3, which is still in the healthy range. But the counselor that we met with kept referring to me as overweight. She asked how long I felt that I was overweight, even though I told her I did not consider my weight to be a health issue. When my mom was filling out the questionnaire and it asks who in your family is over weight my mom left it blank. The woman said, well your daughter is overweight! I went in knowing that I was going to join the program but that woman kept trying to beat me down! Honestly! I weighed the same or less than most of the people that worked there! So beware when you go in. It is set up to make you feel depressed (from the mirror by the scale to the unflattering mirror in the office. The diet may work but they definitely seem to do whatever they can to get you to buy more

MiaDolceBelia,

Could you please send me a copy of the plan ( diet and detox) or if anyone else has a copy, could you please send it. I would like to see if it is a diet that I could actually stick to. I went into a center and I

cannot afford to drop that kind of money on something that I can't complete. The sales rep could not even give me an example but she enforced two supplements a day! the boxes are really expensive. I would need a tad bit more info before I pay them.

Hi Marladi, not sure if they are going to blank out my email but here it is: . Would love to chat with you during this process, I have at least 35 lbs to go. I am finding it a lttle hard to eat all the protein, I don't eat fish/seafood so I am very limited in choices, chicken and turkey and red meat 2x a week are my choices. Did you buy all the supplements they recommend? I bought the Hoodia and the multi vitamin only at dietdirect. I also bought some of the protein bars and shakes as well. My only problem so far is the lack of taste....I am a salter, salt on everything!! That was the first thing to go, had to swith to the Lite salt and can only use like 1/2 tsp a day.

I started at QWLC two weeks ago. Because I have intestinal problems they kept me off of the supplements for now. However, since they are high protein and I have problems digesting carbs, I don't think I will have a problem using them. I ordered some supplements from dietdirect.com that arrived today. Since I haven't purchased the supplements from the center, I'm not sure if what I ordered is the same as what you get in the center. My paperwork says that the supplements should provide 15 grams of protein and 4 grams of carbs. The puddings and soups are close, but the bars are a lot higher in carbs and contain sugar. Can someone help me figure out what supplements are the same as the ones you can get in the center?

Been on the "home" program for 7 days now, 3 of those were the detox orange days, so the regular diet days number 4. Weighed myself this a.m and was down exactly 5 lbs. Maybe lost water weight but I'll take it!! I am finding it hard to eat all the food I am supposed to during one day so that is a good thing. Not really sure why you have to eat one of these bars and one of the pudding/shakes everyday, seems like extra calories when you are not really hungry. But, gonna keep following the plan to see how it plays out, got 35 more lbs to go. Would love to chat with someone who is doing it on their own and compare notes if you're out there. :)

I agree with on the fence, I too started the diet in feb of this year and lost about 30 lbs but gained it back because I had to undergo surgery and also had to take prednisone with packs on the pounds. I had the sales pitch and all the crap and decided to go this route again on my own. I started the preparation phase again today on my own and would love an email pal for support. Thanks for the nashua website. I also found another website - direct diets. I was furious with the fact that you can get the products cheaper and not have to put up with all the crap from the sales people.

All of these testimonials were truly interesting. I do know that the diet will work but as someone who worked for this company, I must be honest about the sales training. I was actually ostracized within the co and eventually let go because I took the job thinking it was an introduction to a career in nutrition. Your counselors are strictly sales people taught to memorize scripts and the plan. The rest is guess work that many utilize from having followed the plan themselves. The counselor turn over rate is rediculous because not many people can stand misleading people about the products. Again, the supplements and diet do work but employment depends on how much you up sell each client. What was most disturbing was that in training you are taught to make the client as low as possible (to tears if necessary) to get them to purchase. The Care Credit is the worst possible way to pay for this because most people do gain back on restrictive programs. Suggestions : pay for diet only no matter how much pressure and buy the other supplements as you wish. You do not need two bars a day to lose weights. With good nutrition your body will dictate what it needs daily and two shakes or bars a day is not a necessity. Buyer Beware. Most people never receive refunds.

I agree with ya notsosure in the fact that the cost can get ya with this plan and the salespeople at my location are hard core sales! I just had my 4th baby and am going to start the program back on my own even though I bought the lifetime plan only because I do not want to purchase all the crap they talk ya into. I did find the products online also, plus there are many products within the south beach diet that have the same nutrients almost exactly. I am doing the quick start this week and so far after three days I've lost 3 pounds. I'm trying to get some exercise also, but it's hard with 4 kids age 5 and under. I would love to have an e-mail pal while doing this also! I am shocked they do the care credit, the rates are too high, if you can't afford it, don't let them pressure you!! I've lost and gained with all 4 pregnancies and overall have about 50 pounds to lose, I am so depressed about my weight at this point I have to do it!! Would love to have support!
