Do You Know the Best Diets of 2024?

BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND

Quick Weight Loss, founded in Florida, provides individualized weight loss therapy. The program boasts no exercise and you eat the foods you love including the diet program's own line of diet foods and herbal and thermogenic supplements.

Made popular by Rush Limbaugh who in 2009 lost a remarkable amount of weight in a short period of time following a Quick Weight Loss created just for him, this southern Florida company has helped many lose weight.

Currently, the only bricks and mortar Quick Weight Loss Centers are scattered around southern Florida but there is an online program that you can join from anywhere in the country. This home-based program is a six-week program in which you receive support and counseling via email and phone from Quick Weight Loss Center specialists.

Once you have signed up for either program, you work individually with a Quick Weight Loss Center expert in order to create your own customized diet plan.

In general, the Quick Weight Loss plan provides participants a diet that is low calorie (up to 1,500 calories/day). You buy the foods you like to make and supplement with Quick Weight Loss brand's bars, beverages, soups as well as supplement s that are intended to facilitate weight loss.

You can expect to lose three to seven pounds each week while following the Quick Weight Loss Center programs.

PROPRO
  • Doctor clearance shows they are being responsible
  • Helped Rush Limbaugh lose 80 pounds in 2009

  • Offers an individualized program to weight loss

  • One-on-one support provides motivation and accountability

CONCON
  • Weight loss claims may be exaggerated
  • Required to buy program's special line of foods increases costs
  • Herbal supplements and other stimulants are required
  • Supplements do not require FDA approval; check with your doctor before taking
  • Brick and mortar locations are limited to southern Florida and Texas
  • Low calorie diet plan may lead to rebound weight gain
  • Diet program rules are not scientifically founded
DIET and NUTRITIONDIET and NUTRITION

While all Quick Weight Loss Center diets are custom-designed, there are a few benchmark features that are applied to every participant's diet.

Most diet plans include a low-calorie and low-fat daily eating plan that is comprised of about 1,500 calories a day.

And while the company remains pretty hush-hush about what their diet looks like, a few secrets slipped through the cracks thanks to Rush's public discussion about his experience with Quick Weight Loss Centers.

There are a host of other food rules that you must abide by while following the program such as eating green peppers but not red bell peppers and not combining two different kinds of proteins in one meal. For instance you can have seven ounces of grilled chicken breast but not three ounces of white fish and four ounces of turkey breast in one meal. In addition, alcohol, sugar, refined flours and fried foods are not allowed.

You can also supplement with Quick Weight Loss Centers proprietary foods which can be purchased online or at one of the Center's Florida locations. Such foods include special puddings, shake mixes, nutrition bars, soups and oatmeal.

In addition, you are also encouraged to take Quick Weight Loss Centers own line of dietary supplements like essential fatty acids, herbs and carb blockers, all of which are supposed to facilitate speedy weight loss.

EXERCISEEXERCISE

You can engage in moderate exercise while following the Quick Weight Loss Center diet but hard-core exercise is not a strong feature of this plan.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

Made popular almost overnight by conservative radio-host Rush Limbaugh who lost 80 pounds in just a few months, Quick Weight Loss Centers is a Florida-based customized diet plan that helps you lose weight quickly with its low-calorie and highly structured eating plan. But it is exactly this stringent plan that lands this diet in the category of countless other plans that take off a lot of weight in a short amount of time and then risks gaining it all back once you are no longer on the plan.

But with this rather mysterious diet plan filled with specific eating rules and special supplements that contain hoodia and ephedra-like stimulants, you might want to think twice about spending the money on Quick Weight Loss Center and instead think about incorporating more natural, practical and long-term strategies for successful weight loss.

Well, I went last night and I'm down another 2 ./2 lbs! It sure feels better than the numbers going up, that's for sure!

I'm still having difficulty getting the proteins in because I only eat chicken, turkey and fish. There are days when I wish that I ate steak and shrimp and the like.

Anyway, I'm going to keep at it. It's a very healthy program, so there's nothing really to question.

Every time the numbers on the scale go down it's incentive for me to keep on the program because it does work, but like anything, it only works if you apply yourself.

**down 12lbs and counting....

I have been reading and researching QWLC (this is by far the best site, with the most going on). I am very cautious about even going into one of the centers because I don't have the money to sign up for the plan. I have read through almost 10 pages of posts on here and have gotten some great insight! From all the research I have done on diets and weight loss, this plan seems to be the best, but I am a broke college student...does anyone have any suggestions as to how to do this plan cheaper? I already take a hoodia supplement (tons of research went into that also...), I take Tonalin and fish oil which are both EFA's, a carb blocker and a multi-vit as it is. I drink a protein shake in the morning, with soy milk and some fruit, but am weary of taking in too much protein as extra protein can be stored as fat.

Someone posted the 3 day detox in the forum a while back, and I'm on day 1 of that. I'd like to be ahead of the game if I am going to sign up for this. It would be really great if someone would post the basis of the diet, as in "low-carb" or "low calorie", or just send the diet guidelines to me to review. I have been working out daily for 3 months and have cut my calories to 1000-1200 per day and have not lost ANY weight, so I am extremely interested in any advice at all! It seems like this diet is very strict, but if it works....

And to fitnthin, it sounds like working out would be another reason for the QWLC to "void" their garauntee of losing weight, but we all know that pairing diet and excercise is going to be the most effective way to lose weight, both immediately and long term. I think alot of people want an easy fix, without having to work out, so if you do and enjoy it, you should definitely do it.

I had the opportunity to join the program for an initial 10 weeks on what they call, "The Manager's Special." It is significantly less than than the actual program as it doesn't include stabilization, etc... but I'll worry about that bridge when I get to it.

The first few days on the detox was a serious challenge for me, but I got through it. I didn't really see any big significant weight change as they were promising, but the following week (this past week makes my full first week), I dropped 10 lbs!

I go again tonight to get weighed, so we'll see how things are going. I am having trouble getting all of my food down. I feel like it's going to come out of my ears if I eat anymore and that's only what's required on the plan. The protein is making me uncomfortably full. I can't even finish my salad or get in my two Quick Boost drinks in. I know I have to do better with my water consumption as well.

I buy bare minimum of their supplements to continue to afford the actual program itself.

I take the KLB, but want to buy some Carb Blockers as well. I know I won't get it from them.

Funny thing is there is a GNC right downstairs from them in the shopping center where they're located. I'll be headed there for the Carb Blocker.

I'm curious though - - - and only because I've been reading different weight loss sites around the 'net - - - does anyone know if you can use Biotin supplements or SlimQuick in conjunction with this eating plan?

Biotin is a natural vitamin that supposedly aids in carbohydrate and protein metabolism as well as promote healthy skin and hair. SlimQuick contains the hoodia that everyone's mentioning as well as other metabolizers.

It's designed especially for women and that's what I'm looking for.

Also, does anyone exercise even though they don't ever mention it? I want to exercise to get my weight off quicker, so I'm considering going back to 1/2 hour - 45 minute work-outs.

Thanks and sorry for talking so much, just wanted someone who's considering it to know what to expect and to get some help from "vets" on here....

i also may think about buying lipo 6, which in a strong fat burner for women, instead of purchasing those expensive metabolizers from QWLC. as for the EFA's, you can get those with the same exact ingredients from GNC for $12, multivitamin and mineral for about $20. as for carb blockers, those are already in the lipo 6 i might purchase. you can save so much money on these pills by going elsewhere. you don't even have to get them from QWL. same goes for those protein supplements. they are totally unnecessary when you can get them cheaper at another place

actually doing research about quick weight loss center tells you nothing. their site wont tell you how much you'll be paying to join. a asked them how much it cost over the phone and they wouldn't even tell me. they told me to come in for a consultation. the only thing you'll know the cost of before joining are their pills and protein supplements which tells you on the site. some people say they lost so much weight in 14 weeks but its not working quick enough for me, but then again this is only my second week and maybe my body is different. when i start dropping at least 5 pounds a week i wont complain.

The $695 buys you a 1 yr "membership". It covers the weight loss phase, the stabilazation phase and the maintenance phae (where if you start to gain with back they will put you back on the plan). It covers a certain number of supplements and vitamins. This progam is VERY expensive after all the supplements. I buy the min they require to keep the "guarantee". The rest you can get at nashuanitrition.com. For the pills: I purchase the vitamin and the metabolizer from them. I get the Carb Intercept and EFA's at Viamin Shoppe. I may start purchasing the Quic boost because I cant find a close enough product elsewhere.
I was on this diet before and with minimal cheating, went from size 14 to 5 in 14 weeks. The diet is VERY EXPENSVE but in my opinion worth it. I only gained weight back when i got pregnant and quit smoking and was eating what I wanted. My fault! But I had kept the weight off for a year before that.
It is getting old listening to everyone say they hate this program because of the cost. Fine, then go elsewhere. It like buying a Z3 vs a small sedan. The Z3 gets you there faster and in style...but the sedan will get you there the same. This is the ONLY diet that has worked for me and I spent alot of money on others that could have gone to this one.
Yes, the center is out to make money. BUT the plan does work. So if you didnt do your research before you signed up (like you would buying a car), hen its your onw fault and quit complaining. Use the center to achieve your goals and move on a skinnier person!
Oh, and stay away from the Care Credit card they offer...it has an enormous interest rate!
Good Luck!

Can anyone tell my why the $695? Is that an initication fee? can one join the program for less money? And what if you have already supplements you're taking, will they force you to purchase theirs?

I am no longer going to the center. I refuse to continue to pay for supplements that can be purchased at your local drug store. The diet is common sense. For all those out there thinking about going to QWLC, make sure you bring a friend that attends the consultation AKA SALES PRESSURE MEETING, with you. Take your time and think about it before you sign up, and if you do decide that this program is good for you, do not be afraid to pressure them about the things you want and expect from them. They are merely human after all. And YOU are the customer. You pay for the food on THEIR tables. Don't let them push you around.!!! It's your money, and you work for it just as hard as everyone else these days. Make sure you have a list of questions written down and make sure you get a copy of EVERY paper you sign. You are entitled to it, it has your signature on it. Good Luck Everyone

The consultants rush you into the plan. Ask you how you feel about what you see in the mirror (you are actually sitting facing a mirror), they ask emotional questions then ask you how bad you want to the lose the weight. They dont explain what the diet entails before they ask you for the money. And there are too many (magic) pills. Which are ridiculously expensive. I though since I paid $698 on the first visit that those things would be covered. Nope! you'll be asked to spend $100's more (500-2500)!! Too pricey but I have to stick it out since I already paid. I'm down 8 pounds.

I started the first of January and have lost 20-22 pounds. I find the program very easy to follow but I am always cooking my foods for myself (time consuming). The diet is very nutritional. No processed foods. Proteins, veggies, fruits are the staples of the diet. It can be done without the pill supplements. I only take a multi vitamin. The snacks they sell you can be purchased through Dietsdirect.com for less money. I need to lose 12 more and I couldn't be more happy with my results so far.

i cant tell you that i dislike the program or not since i just got started like two days ago and im only on my preparation phase so i havent even lost weight yet. all i can say is that they are expensive, but cheaper than Jenny Craig, nutrisystem, and definitely a personal trainer. but i will tell you right now, there are some things i dislike about QWLC already:
for one, the first day i went in for the consultation, which is suppose to be free, they were so eager to take my money after informing me about the program, and you may feel really pressured. i ended up being charged $695 that day. i was a little disappointed because i was not expecting it to be so much, but there's no other choice for me to turn to and i definitely cant lose 50 pounds by myself, so i paid it. two, one thing i cant stand the most is that they give you 4 different bottles of pills which will guarantee you lose 5-7 lbs a wee(so they say), but once you run out of those pills you have to buy them yourself. that made me very angry because they already took $695 away from you, why wouldnt they provide you those pills after you run out? and those pills are expensive, like two of the ones i have are like $30, and the xtrm is $135, and they say thats mandatory if you want to lose atleast 3 lbs a week. i cannot freaking afford a $135 bottle of freaking pills. if all these bottles i have work for me, i will let you know this program is worth it, even if it means buying these pills every month, with the dreadful cost.

my main point is: be aware that they are not that cheap and they are not all that fair. if they would just provide you the pills throughout the whole program, that $695 will be worth spending, but its not because you'll be spending more money once you run out. if you cant afford all the pills, get the ones that will atleast help you lose 3 lbs a week. maybe you can even get them somewhere else cheaper with the exact same ingredients, that's what im thinking about.

use you money wisely, and good luck with your decision

I can't really say that I don like this program yet because I just got stated like two days ago and I'm only on my 3 day preparation phase so I haven't evn lost weight. I was charged $695 that day and I was not expecting it to be so much, but since I was so desperate for help, I payed it. What I really hate about this program is that they give you four different bottles of pills that will make you lose 5-7 lbs a week(so they say), but once you run out you have to buy them yourself. I don't think that's fair at all after they got $695 from me already and most of the pills cost like $30, the xtrm which is mandatory is like $135. I can't afford that. All I can say is if all 4 bottles of pills really work for me then I'll tell you they are worth buying even with the dreadful cost. But my main point: be aware that this program is not that cheap. $695 would be worth it if they will provide you those pills even after you run out, but they don't and thts no being fair to you.

This program works fantastic if you work it. They have changed their bars and shakes and I can't find them anywhere else now. And my weight loss is faster this time than when I did this plan years ago. Maybe it is changed? I would definitely compare before you go off and start buying knockoff items on the net. And if you are on the program and not getting results and using other products - well, stop wasting your money second-guessing the program! I am totally happy.
