I followed this diet in 1997 and I lost 70 pounds in 4 months. After the first couple of weeks, I did sneak in a double cheeseburger and a diet coke once in awhile, but by then my metabolism was burning at full-speed and it didn't even register a blip on the radar. As others have mentioned, you do need to be careful when you go off the diet when it comes to fast food, fried foods, carbs, and dairy or you will put weight back on. Its really great to jump start a weight loss plan though and the detox is very good!

Today is day 4 for me and I have lost 2 pounds so far. I think people should use this diet as a jumpstart into a regular fitness and healthy eating routine, not as the answer to losing all the weight.

I am starting day 3 of the diet and have not lost any weight. I have eaten about 3 bowls of the soup day 1 & 2, lots of water and cr juice. I had the baked potato for dinner last night but had no additional veggies, I was on the road, no time. I did eat the fruit day 1. Can you gain weight if you don't eat enough on this diet. My clothes feel tighter.

i started the diet yesterday. I made a wonderfully HUGE pot of the soup and found that during day one (fruits and soup) that i had to p'n'poo continuously throughout the day - to the point where my p was comepletely clear. (i did fall off the wagon though around 9pm last night - i had a mcdonalds dble cheeseburger SORRY i was STARVING and the thought of another bowl of soup killed me! (i had FIVE during the day). However i got up this morning and jumped right back in - with day 2 - veggies and soup - I wish i had some good cooked veggie recipe's as i am really NOT hungry but the more you eat supposedly the more you lose - i had a bag of fresh raw green beans and two bowls of soup. I weigh 150lbs and wanted to get down to 140lbs. I was hoping not to have to go past day 3 - I will let you know!

Ive been on this diet for 3 days. Ive lost 6 pounds. I have no cravings. I started off at 154 and am now down to 148 and still have 4 days to go! However, I am a firm believer in exercise. I usually work out with weights Tue, Thurs, Sat, and an hour of cardio (walking fast, jogging, stationary bike, eliptical etc..) Monday, Wed, Friday. This may have something to do with the weight loss. If you season the soup right, it's actually good! I'm a bit burnt out on fruit and veggies tho :(

Hey girls! I am going to start this diet tomorrow...I will let you know how it works for me. It seems as though you diet to get the weight off, then you just watch your weight from there. This diet is a decent way to jump start a healthier way to lose weight and get off of boxed foods. It does drop the pounds but you will gain them back if you revert to your old eating habits. As with any kind of diet. I did this diet in January of '08 and lost 12 lbs. Of course, like alot of others, I went back to my old way of eating, stopped exercise (and I wasn't a gym bunny) and gained it back. I have restarted, am on day three and have lost 5 lbs. I know at the moment it's mostly water weight, but will be burning off actual unhealthy weight soon. Once day eight arrives, I will be eating alot more healthier than in the past. More veggies, less refined sugars and flours. I am also going to be sticking to a more active lifestyle which includes walking, eliptical, light weights and swimming. And I'm a mom of three who works full time. It just means I get up 45 minutes earlier. It's worth it to be healthier.

I just started the SH diet today. So far so good not getting the crazy cravings I get all the time. Im hoping to lose at least 10-15 lbs. I've created a journal to that I could keep my mind into in, along with a work out schedule. Hip hop abs in the morning and 1-1 1/2 hour walks at night. Wish me luck

I can tell you that I HAVE done this diet. I only did it to day 3, which by that time I had already lost 9 pounds and I was beginning to get sick (I wasn't huge anyway) but it did work!!! for a smaller person like me though wanting to lose a couple pounds, I recommend just doing the first 3 days. after day one, I had lost 5 pounds. and believe me, you don't crave the things you did before. I had no want for caffeine when it was over, and did not overeat, because your stomach shrinks so much you won't be able to hold anything more than a happy meal. And I have never gained the weight back (it's been 2 years)
