Joint Vibrance Ingredients and Side Effects
Collagen Glucosamine Chondroitin Hyaluronic Acid MSM
Boron Boswellia Serrata Turmeric Bromelain Grape seed

Collagen: Collagen is a tricky ingredient to find in a joint health supplement. Collagen is a natural part of the body’s joint health system and is integral to cartilage, synovial fluid, and ligament tissue formation.

However when collagen is ingested it gets broken down in the stomach into its more basic component parts and its proteins are redistributed throughout the entire body. It is safe for human consumption and is moderately beneficial for the body in a general sense, however there are no specific indications for its use in improving joint health.

Glucosamine: A natural component of the body’s synovial fluid and one of the most common ingredients in joint health supplements. It is either derived from shellfish and other natural sources, or it can be manufactured synthetically in a lab.

Unlike collagen, glucosamine actually stimulates cartilage and synovial fluid production. It is considered safe for human consumption and there are no known side effects associated with glucosamine ingestion.

Chondroitin: Another popular joint health supplement due to its role in cartilage production. Chondroitin has been shown to have a beneficial effect on aging and arthritic joints and has also been used in the treatment of:

  • Kashin-Beck disease
  • Bladder inflammation
  • Acid reflux
  • Dry eyes
  • Cataracts
  • Osteoarthritis

Hyaluronic Acid: A substance found in the human body that is helpful in cushioning and lubricating joints. Hyaluronic acid has been used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, in healing cataracts, and as a filler during plastic surgeries. Hyaluronic acid is generally safe and side effect free for most consumers.

MSM: A chemical derived from green plants that is useful as an anti-inflammatory aid. It has been used in the treatment of bursitis, tendonitis, PMS, chronic fatigue, snoring and is thought to help with the body’s production and processing of sulfur. MSM is not thought to be related to any serious side effects.

Boron: An important chemical for the body’s ability to process magnesium, phosphorous, and estrogen. Boron is important for building healthy bones, mental function, and maintaining the body’s PH balance.

Boswellia Serrata: A treatment used in Ayurvedic medicine that is thought to potentially decrease inflammation. Derived from the Indian frankincense tree, boswellia serrata has not been studied in the west for its medicinal value enough to make definitive claims about what its applications may be, however it has been used by some cultures to treat tendonitis, colitis, abdominal pain, asthma, and syphilis. Side effects that could potentially result from boswellia consumption include:

  • Stomach pain
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Rash

Turmeric: Possibly most recognizable to the majority of our readers as the spice that gives curry powder its flavor. Turmeric is similar to boswellia serrata in that it has also been used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat inflammation and related conditions, however there is very little clinical data to back up any of these applications. Side effects that might be related to turmeric could include:

  • Dizziness
  • Upset stomach
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Abnormal heart rhythms
  • Gallbladder problems
  • Diabetes complications

Bromelain: An enzyme derived from the stem of the pineapple fruit that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Little is known about the scientific effects of bromelain, however it has been used in the past to treat conditions like arthritis and ulcerative colitis. Side effects related to bromelain could potentially include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Intestinal discomfort
  • Allergic reactions

Grape Seed: Thought to be high in flavanoids and antioxidants, which can help with immune function and may reduce inflammation. It is possibly effective for improving circulation, however there is very little data to support the other applications that it can be used for. Side effects that could possibly be tied to the consumption of grape seed include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Upset stomach
  • Indigestion
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Cramps
  • Cough
  • Dry mouth
  • Sore throat
  • Infection
  • Headache

Joint Vibrance also uses a number of inactive ingredients, some of which are vegetable derived. Consumers with food sensitivities or that are taking prescription medications should check with their health care providers before taking Joint Vibrance.

Joint Vibrance Quality of Ingredients

Mostly Joint Vibrance’s ingredients fall into one of two categories: traditional joint health supplement ingredients and non-traditional anti-inflammatory herbs.

Glucosamine, chondroitin, boron, HA, and MSM are all proven effective and safe treatments that are traditionally used to help provide cushioning, lubrication and overall joint support.

Grape seed, turmeric, boswellia, and bromelain are all non-traditional herbal treatments that don’t have a lot of science backing up their medicinal claims. More concerning to consumers should be the fact that there are no long-term studies about the effects of these additives when taken on a prolonged daily basis.

The final ingredient is collagen, which raises some issues. Given that collagen is neither directly beneficial to joint health nor effective as an anti-inflammatory or pain reliever, it doesn’t really belong in a joint-related supplement.

One reason that a company might include it in their blend is that they honestly don’t understand how the human body breaks down proteins or builds collagen, which would be highly concerning. The more common reason that supplement companies use collagen is because they are trying to take advantage of consumers’ ignorance about how the body works.

Many consumers will see collagen on the ingredients panel, know that collagen is important for joints, and purchase the supplement without realizing that companies are trying to take advantage of them. It would be irresponsible to speculate about the motivation behind the collagen in Joint Vibrance, however that should always be a concerning sign to consumers.

The Price and Quality of Joint Vibrance

Joint Vibrance is sold through their own website and consumers can expect to pay something close to these values:

  • 1 252-count bottle of Joint Vibrance tablets: $49.95
  • 1 12.1 oz. jar of Joint Vibrance drink mix powder: $49.95
  • Sample of Joint Vibrance: $1.00

It should be noted that Joint Vibrance and most joint health supplements in general will take weeks if not months in order to have any kind of effect. This means it would be unreasonable to expect the sample size of Joint Vibrance to have any kind of positive impact on any given user, however it is possible that they could find out if it will cause any short-term side effects.

Customer Opinions of Joint Vibrance

There are hundreds of complaints about Joint Vibrance online. These reviews include a sample of some of the themes that pop up:

“Smells bad, tastes worse, and does nothing.”

“I used this stuff for years, but they added a new “flavor” to it and nor it tastes horrible and doesn’t seem to work any more.”

“I bought this product thinking that it could be my miracle, but after weeks of gastro-intestinal issues and no improvement in my joints I gave up and tossed the rest of the jar in the trash.”

The most frequent kind of complaint was regarding the effectiveness of Joint Vibrance, however there were nearly as many customers who were dissatisfied with the taste and smell of the drink mix. There seemed to be a reformulation that happened at some point and quite a few customers feel the product not only tastes worse but is now less effective as well.

Conclusion – Does Joint Vibrance Work?

There are some aspects of Joint Vibrance that are good, such as reasonable levels of glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM, and there are some aspects that are highly questionable, such as their inclusion of collagen and the large amount of negative reviews online.

It is possible that Joint Vibrance could be an effective joint health product for any given individual, or it could be a foul-tasting and ineffective waste of money. Given the unreliable nature of many of the entries on the ingredients list, our panel of nutritional experts is unable to recommend Joint Vibrance to our readers at this time.

It appeared to work for me after consuming the pineapple powder drink for at least 24 days. I blended it with orange juice and pineapples. The drink was doable. After hearing of the recall, I returned the poduct for a full refund. Since returning the product and no longer consuming the supplement, I experience more morning stiffness. I am using other joint supplements to relieve knee pain and stiffness. When will the product return to the market?.
