Beneflex is a joint health supplement formulated to help improve flexibility and overall joint wellness. Beneflex is formulated to provide relief from joint pain and inflammation, and their website claims the effects can begin in as little as one week. Their product was developed to benefit athletes, individuals with repetitive motion stress, and those suffering from mild arthritis pain.

Beneflex Ingredients and Side Effects
UC-II Collagen Après-Flex
Hyaluronic Acid Turmeric

Après-Flex: What Beneflex calls their version of boswellia serrata extract. Boswellia has traditionally been used in Ayurvedic medicine and in recent years has become a common additive to joint health supplements because of its ability to reduce inflammation. There are no serious side effects associated with boswellia consumption.

Hyaluronic Acid: One of the main components of the body’s synovial fluid – the substance that keeps joints lubricated and allows them to move pain free. Hyaluronan or HA, as it is also called, has been used in the treatment of cataracts, osteoarthritis, and mouth sores. HA is naturally occurring within the body and there are no known side effects related to its consumption.

Turmeric: A spice that is most famous for giving curry powder its distinctive flavor that has also been used in Ayurvedic treatments. There are very few clinical studies that exist about the medicinal applications of turmeric, however it has shown some anti-inflammatory properties. Some side effects that may be associated with turmeric consumption include:

  • Stomach upset
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Abnormal heart beat
  • Gallbladder problems
  • Bleeding problems

UC-II Collagen: Finding collagen on the label of a joint health supplement is a somewhat complicated issue. Collagen is fundamentally important to joint health, as it’s the main building block of our body’s cartilage. The problem is that ingesting collagen does not necessarily increase your body’s collagen production. Collagen gets broken down in the stomach, like anything else, and while it may be slightly beneficial for overall wellness there is no direct linkage with consuming collagen and improved joint health.

Beneflex Quality of Ingredients

Beneflex has a somewhat limited nutritional palate. It contains two ingredients that our experts rate as highly effective for treating joint discomfort, one ingredient that may or may not be effective, and one ingredient that is known to be ineffective as a joint health treatment.

Hyaluronic acid is strongly recommended by our team for its ability to provide natural help for the body’s cartilage and synovial fluid. Boswellia has shown abilities to fight inflammation and has few drawbacks as an additive, so it is also recommended.

Too little is known about turmeric for our panel to recommend it as an additive. It may be a functional anti-inflammatory agent, however there are a number of side effects that have been linked to it in for short-term consumption, and there is no data available about the safety of long-term consumption.

Collagen is often a warning sign that a supplement or nutrition company is not particularly trustworthy. Since collagen does not really improve collagen health if a supplements company still chooses to use it then one must be forced to conclude that either they don’t have access to that data, or they do and they are ignoring it in an attempt to take advantage of consumers’ ignorance. It is difficult to read into the motivations for why Beneflex still chooses to use collagen as one of their few ingredients, however the implications are not good.

Lastly, some of the most basic additives found in almost all of the effective joint supplements currently on the market are not included in Beneflex’s blend. There is nothing in the pills that actually increases collagen production, benefits skeletal health, or perform any number of other functions that even the cheapest over the counter supplements will usually help with.

The Price and Quality of Beneflex

Despite the limited range of their ingredients, Beneflex is still amongst the most expensive over the counter supplements that you’ll find on the market. They do not sell their product through their own website, however the links that they provide to other online distributors list its price in this range:

  • 1 30-count bottle (one month supply) of Beneflex: $49.99

This means that once shipping and handling is factored in Beneflex costs nearly $2.00 a day – well over the average price for joint health supplements and more in line with what you would expect to pay for a nutritional supplement formulated for extreme athletes or people with serious health conditions.

Customer Opinions of Beneflex

Online reviews of Beneflex are mixed. There are some positive accounts about their effectiveness out there, but there are also far more one- and two-star reviews for Beneflex than most supplements receive. Some common complaints were similar to these:

“Don’t believe their advertising – this product does not work at all, let alone within the seven says they said it would.”

“Did nothing for me. Maybe it would work for others, but I feel like I just wasted a bunch of money.”

“Beneflex’s website says that they have no side effects but within 30 minutes I started feeling short of breath and my heart was beating like crazy. This lasted for hours and I never took it again.”

The most common complaint online was the product’s ineffectiveness, however there were also issues with its cost, the customer service when attempting to receive refunds, and there were multiple accounts of side effects echoing the review above.

Conclusion – Does Beneflex Work?

Given the limited ingredients list and the nature of the responses online, our panel of experts has concluded that Beneflex is probably most effective as a mild anti-inflammatory.

There is nothing to make our team believe that Beneflex can provide cartilage, bone, or overall joint health support. Given its exceptionally high cost and the frequency of reports of negative side effects, they would recommend comparing other brands instead of purchasing Beneflex.

Our experts currently recommend Flexitrinol for overall joint health support. Flexitrinol provides full-spectrum nutritional support and naturally stimulates the body’s ability to repair itself. Click here more to see how Flexitrinol compares to other leading joint health supplement brands.
