Heal N Soothe Ingredients and Side Effects
Proteolytic Enzymes Turmeric Devil’s Claw Mojave Yucca
Rutin Ginger Boswellia Papain

Proteolytic Enzymes: A combination of chemicals in the body that is responsible for breaking down proteins. Proteolytic enzymes are mostly known as anti-inflammatory agents, however they are also an integral part of a number of other biological functions. They have been used in the treatment of a number of conditions, including:

  • Herpes
  • Sinusitis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Pancreatic insufficiency
  • Fibrocystic breast disease
  • Cancer

There are no known negative side effects associated with the consumption of proteolytic enzymes.

Turmeric: The spice that gives curry its flavor and a frequent treatment used in Ayurvedic medicine. Turmeric is thought to be a potent anti-inflammatory agent, however there is very little clinical data about its applications. Some side effects that may be related to turmeric include:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Increased bleeding risk
  • Increased liver enzymes
  • Hypotension
  • Increased menstrual flow

Devil’s Claw: An African herb whose roots have been used medicinally by some cultures. There is very little science behind the effects of devil’s claw, however it is thought to have anti-inflammatory properties.

A significant chunk of the people that try devil’s claw will develop diarrhea, with scientists estimating that the ratio is about one in twelve users. Other less common side effects that are possibly connected to devil’s claw include:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of appetite
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of taste
  • Ringing in ears
  • Menstrual problems

Mojave Yucca: A plant found in the southwestern United States that may have medicinal properties, though little is actually known about how it works. Some say it has anti-inflammatory properties and others have used it as a blood pressure and cholesterol treatment, however there is no clinical data to support this. There are no known side effects related to yucca consumption, but that may just be related to the lack of information about it.

Papain: A derivative of the papaya fruit that is used to make herpes medications. It may also have applications for worms, hay fever, diarrhea, and runny nose. Possible side effects may include:

  • Sore throat
  • Stomach irritation
  • Blisters
  • Severe allergic reaction

Rutin: A citrus bioflavonoid that is also sometimes known as quercetin or sophorin. Rutin is a plant pigment that is found in buckwheat, the Japanese pagoda tree, and the eucalyptus tree. Rutin is thought to aid in the fight against osteoarthritis and may also help with blood circulation. Side effects may possibly include:

  • Rash
  • Flushing
  • Persistent doubt
  • Headache
  • Upset stomach

Ginger: Traditionally used as a flavoring agent and food additive, there is very little scientific information related to the medicinal usage of ginger. It is possible that ginger has applications as an anti-nauseate, however all other medicinal applications are considered speculative. Side effects could possibly include:

  • Heartburn
  • Diarrhea
  • General discomfort
  • Extra menstrual bleeding

Boswellia Extract: A derivative of the Indian frankincense tree that, like many of these ingredients, has shown some applications for treating inflammation, however there is very little science behind it. There may be side effects associated with boswellia, however there is too little data to say conclusively.

Heal N Soothe Quality of Ingredients

Heal N Soothe uses a lot of very similar ingredients in their blend. Most of their additives are unproven treatments used by native cultures that have shown some application for reducing inflammation.

There are no ingredients in Heal N Soothe that is specifically formulated to help improve joint health. None of their blend increases collagen, cartilage, synovial fluid, tendon, ligament, or bone health, and there is very little to suggest that Heal N Soothe could be beneficial for overall health.

There is also a high risk of experiencing either short term or long term side effects related to Heal N Soothe due to how little is known about their ingredients. There are no 5- or 10-year studies available about daily exposure to most of these chemicals so it is impossible to vouch for their safety one way or the other.

The Price and Quality of Heal N Soothe

Heal N Soothe lists several purchasing options on their website:

  • 1 90-count bottle of Heal N Soothe capsules: $65.75
  • 3 90-count bottles of Heal N Soothe capsules: $156.00
  • 6 90-count bottles of Heal N Soothe capsules: $249.00

Given that Heal N Soothe recommends at least three doses a day – and as many as 8-10 – in order to experience results, taking it as indicated is incredibly expensive. Heal N Soothe costs well over two dollars a day, and possibly far more, which is far above average for both joint health supplements and over the counter pain relievers.

The average joint health supplement will retail for about a dollar a day, and sometimes less, and Heal N Soothe does not even provide any kind of joint support or repair. This means that many consumers will feel compelled to add a secondary supplement specifically for glucosamine, chondroitin, and other joint health related ingredients.

Business of Heal N Soothe

Heal N Soothe is a product of The Healthy Back Institute. They list their contact information as:

Phone Number: (800) 216-4908

Address: 2407 S. Congress Ave Ste E 100

Austin, TX 78704

The Healthy Back Institute is not an accredited medical institution and they are not qualified to deliver medical advice. They currently have a 67% negative customer review rating with the Better Business Bureau and have received 29 formal complaints about their business in the last three years. Ripoff Report and The Complaints Board both have extensive lists of complaints against the Healthy Back Institute both regarding their products and their business practices.

There are a huge number of angry people that believe they have been charged fraudulently by the Healthy Back Institute. Promises of free books, trial periods, and easy returns seem to carry a number of hidden stipulations that most customers were unaware of and that result in hidden and ongoing charges to their credit cards.

Customer Opinions of Heal N Soothe

Ignoring the vast amount of complaints about the Healthy Back Institute’s business practices and focusing strictly on customer responses to using Heal N Soothe returns both good and bad results:

“No help for my joint pain, but it did give me crippling stomach cramps that I had to go to the doctor for. I tried to return the rest of the bottle and they refused.”

“I took three pills a day and it did nothing. When I told them about it they said up the dose, so I started taking six a day and still nothing.”

“I bought these for my mom once and she threw them out. Despite this, they continued to bill my credit card until I finally had to cancel it.”

The most frequent complaints were regarding the poor and unethical nature of their customer service, followed by the ineffectiveness of their product.

Conclusion – Does Heal N Soothe Work?

Given the untested nature of their ingredients it is hard to say what, if any, impact Heal N Soothe will have on any given consumer.

It seems to be most effective when taken as a mild pain reliever for chronic inflammation issues. It does not seem to be effective for improving overall joint or bodily health.

Consumers are cautioned about doing business with The Healthy Back Institute due to the high frequency of customers reporting fraudulent or hidden charges and their failure to live up to refund and cancellation policies.

This company’s P & P is to not provide a one time Try -it-Free but it’s designed to rope your into a subscription and continue to charge your credit card and hope you don’t find out Poor Business Practice Ask yourself one question if their product was so good would they really need to do that???

Peter O Holl says:

This product is a total hoax. When taken as directed Heal n Soothe did nothing for joint pain. but caused a painful onset of nausea and stomach discomfort. Stay away from these people and their unproven pills.

Helpful! Thx!

organicnut says:

I take all these ingredients separately and yes, they do work. But it takes time. You aren’t going to see drastic results in one or two days. It would be nice to take all my supplements in one tablet, but given this company’s hideous business practices, I might be inclined to stay away..

Veronica Hall says:

I have had intractable pain in my right shoulder for 7 months or more. Sleeping was very difficult as if I turned over the pain was so bad it would wake me. Unable to get out of bed on occasions. Very limited movement e.g. Not able to raise arm much above waist height, so unable to reach items in kitchen wall cabinets, unable to comb hair unable to even lift cup of tea due to pain. Have been seen by GP, referred to hospital for treatment. Treatment prescribed was physio therapy once a week for 4 weeks. To perform excercises daily at home. By 4 week I really didn’t want to go to Physio Department as pain was too bad, advised to take NSAID medication. Followed advise diligently- both medication and exercise regime. Became very depressed as unable to carry out normal activities without pain. Stopped sleeping in bed due to pain and not being able to get up from bed on occasions. Stopped NSAID’s (Ibruprofen 400mg 2-3times daily) as no benefit and causing severe indigestion. Stopped physiotherapy prescribed exercises as believed it was making my condition worse.
The good news:- taking Heal & Soothe for approximately 10 days started with 3 capsules 3 x daily, now taking 3 capsules twice daily.
PAIN REDUCED
ABLE TO SLEEP IN MY BED
ABLE TO BRUSH MY HAIR
ABLE TO RAISE ARM ABOVE HEAD
ABLE TO PICK UP CUP OF TEA
I have further appointment at hospital on Friday and I intended to insist on a referral to a different consultant. I also have made appointment with my GP following hospital appointment as I was going to request referral for Consultation and go private.
I intend to keep both appointments and I shall take great pleasure in informing the medical personnel that their treatment failed me abysmally and probably made things worse. Also in 6 months I have not been seen by any medical practitioner other than my GP and the Physiotherapist. The only investigative treatment was an X-ray which was normal. Yet the Physiotherapist diagnosed Rotator Cuff problems.
I honestly don’t know what could have been the cause of improvements in my condition if it were not HEAL & SOOTHE! My pain was so bad that I was using heat pads all the time – the one’s that get hot once you open the pack and despite the directions for use advising NOT to apply direct to skin but yo clothing I found this didn’t help and I applied direct to skin,
I also ignored the warning ONLY USE FOR MAXIMUM 8 HOURS IN 24. As I couldn’t cope without it
Thank god I found HEAL &SOOTHE
I had been considering damaging my shoulder badly ie: fracturing it somehow so that the hospital would have to operate and my pain may then be relieved.
10 days and incredible relief having suffered pain for more than six movement from months.
Not pain free yet but shall keep taking HEAL & SOOTHE and I have every confidence that I shall be pain free in time. Also worthy of note is that my painful knee joints are feeling better as well and movement from squatting to clean out wood burner to standing is much easier,
By the way I shall be 68 years young in s couple of months and in good general health and not on any prescribed medications.
So far so good! And I’ve had minimal side effects merely a little nausea,

A. W. says:

This sounds that you have torn tendons; maybe one or two tendons are torn from the rotator cuff. This is very painful and will not heal with pain medication. X-rays will not show anything. You have to get an ultrasound or MRI. I have that too and the surgeon decided he will not operate on shoulders anymore. But that is what is necessary: This can only be fixed by an operation because the tear does not heal from pills, it has to be re-attached to the cuff. Heal-n-Soothe can lighten the pain but will never repair the tear.

Jill K says:

I, also, had pain in both my shoulders and was unable to raise them above waist height. I went to a rheumatologist who wanted to prescribed drugs if over-the-counter drugs didn’t help after two weeks. Didn’t want that. Came upon Heal ‘n Soothe. It took a few months (yeah, months!) starting with 3/day. Increased number of pills from 3 to 6 to 9 to 12. Still no relief. Contacted company and was told I had a good base with the number of pills and to back off; give it time. Sure enough, the pain started to subside. That was over two years ago. I won’t go without Heal ‘n Soothe. It works.

Charlene Straker says:

I want a free bottle, but i have no credit card.Is there no other way a can pay for the shipping?

Anonymous says:

Nope. They’ll only take credit card so they can charge you $10-20 shipping (free right) and continue to automatically ship you new bottles monthly. Save your money. This product and their practices are a sham to bilk you of your $$.

Anonymous says:

i have 3 unopened bottles and am throwing them away after all the bad reports. this is why i hate infomercials, it cost my dad his life with bad products including this one. all he wanted was relief from his bad back.

Queen Bee says:

Can you tell me how to cancel my online credit card purchase. I put on for the free trial.

call and cancel

Sam says:

just call your credit card company and ask them to deny the payment..

Jill Holderman says:

Dial thier number to cancel: (800) 216-4908

Rosemary says:

You will have to change your credit card number, your credit company will happily do this, they are used to these kinds of purchases that you are still being charged for. I cancelled everything , and still they charged me , so I did this to stop then, hope that helps.

Bill D says:

Just call your credit card company and explain the situation and they usually refund your money and if asked will stop the auto payment.

Anonymous says:

Is it available in Nigeria? Cos I don’t av a credit card

Where can I buy here in the Philippines? and how much?

Marvelyn Ashley says:

Sorry for those who are having or have had difficulties with heal. Soothe. I have been taking for over 1 year. This helps with my back pain. Used to take daily, now only have to take when and if needed. My only concern is upon reordering today, they now have a set of Medical questions about blood thinners, blood pressure medications and antibiotics. So for anyone going for the trial or started out on heal n soothe a long time ago and you are on auto shipment, you may want to call in if you have a medical issues. I only order when I am running low

Concerned user says:

Please stay away from this, you will get seriously problems with consuming this! Most stupid scam i’ve seen. Its better to get to your doctor and take actual helping medicine instead of this shit hole

Denise Mutter says:

I read the blurb on Heal n soothe several times before desperation drove me to try the free offer. I was amazed at the almost immediate reduction in arthritic pain!

Initially, the dose recommended rises from six per day to twelve, but after these first days three in the morning and three in the evening seemed sufficient to keep the pain and discomfort at bay.

The big disadvantage was that because of the import duty into the UK, it meant every time I was out when it arrived, I had to go twelve miles to collect it and pay the duty. Roll on Brexit!

Cheap at the price to get my life back, but I have to find a better way to have it sent. Ive cancelled for the moment, hoping to find something similar in England. No luck in Greece yet.

Jill says:

Works great
too bad allergic reaction too it
I would not buy into this due to the allergies.
Others may not be allergic should definitely try it due to it works.

Marie says:

I marked my calendar and this is the time to cancel Heal and Soothe trial period before they put me on a subscription and charge me monthly. But GUESS WHAT! The trial bottle has NOT arrived yet. I intend to call them and cancel, but I may have to “return to sender”, unopened, and when the charge comes up on my credit card, contest it.

Marissa Stevens says:

My husband started taking Heel and Soothe for bone and joint pain , after taking this medication he now suffers from erectile disfunction and has put our relationship in a really bad place ! It has caused extremely stressful times for us and our 25 years together ! MEN , DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT !

LM says:

People, spend that money on anti-inflammatory foods & eat less processed food. Don’t give your money to these scam artists.

Adrian Seresheff says:

I purchased Heal-n-Soothe with the buy one get one free offer after which I noticed another deduction for a third bottle for an autoship purchase which I promptly rang and cancelled. Unfortunately it was too late and the shipment arrived. I tried the product as recommended, upping the anti till I was taking 4 capsules three times a day for a three and a half weeks. After no pain relief I realised this product is not for me.
I rang this morning (28/6/19) to find out what to do like get a return ref number etc but got the run around and had to call back three times only to get this very rude abrupt individual. I would never buy another product of any kind from this company ever again. I just hope they will do the right thing and give me a refund on the two bottles I purchased.

ampenny3 says:

Ok, so I may be in the minority here, but I have used Heal-n-Soothe off & on over the last few years. I use it & then wonder if it is really the reason I am more comfortable. t that point, I try going without it & invariably I get a flare of neck & back pain. This has happened enough times now to tell me that it is the Heal-n-Soothe that is helping prevent my discomfort. I had gotten to where I only used 1 capsule every other day & it kept me steady. Recently, I did a trial of about 2 weeks of not taking it. I noticed a gradual return of back/leg pain & now neck/shoulder pain. I am going to restart it at the every other day schedule & see how long or if it will again reduce the discomfort, like it has in the past when I have done shorter trials off of it. The other products recommended on here have the MSM, glucosamine & chondroitin in them. I have tried products with these things in them & they have all given me stomach trouble, so will not take those even if the reviews are better.
