Ginkgo Biloba St. John’s Wort Glutamine
Phosphatidylserine Bacopa Monnieri Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Ginkgo Biloba: One of the most well-known herbal nootropic supplements in the world. Ginkgo biloba is renowned for its ability to help improve memory function, thinking speed, and attention span.

It has also been shown to help improve circulation, and many of its benefits are enhanced by increased blood flow to the brain. Ginkgo has also been shown to have a number of uses medically, and has been helpful in the treatment of:

  • Anxiety
  • Dementia
  • Glaucoma
  • Peripheral vascular disease
  • Premenstrual syndrome
  • Schizophrenia

St. John’s Wort: An herb that is known by the scientific name of hypericum perforatum. The most common usage of St. John’s wort is as an anti-depressant, however it has also shown some utility as a neurotransmission aid.

St. John’s wort contains both hypercin and hyperforin, two active chemicals that help activate the ion channels that nerve impulses travel down. It can help improve dopamine, serotonin, and epinephrine function in the brain, which can significantly improve mood and subjective well-being. It may also help with the treatment of:

  • Somatization disorder
  • Wounds
  • Herpes
  • Migraines
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Plaque psoriasis

Bacopa Monnieri: One of the most potent herbs for use in nootropic supplements currently known to science. Bacopa has shown a variety of beneficial effects for users that take it regularly, including the regrowth of tissues in the brain.

Dendrites are the ends of the neurons and the jumping-off point for neural impulses traveling across the brain. The longer the dendrites are, the easier it is to transmit thoughts.

Bacopa has been clinically shown to improve users’ memory function and attention span. It is also useful for helping reduce anxiety and depression levels, which can impact subjective well-being. It has been used as part of the treatment for a number of conditions including:

  • Epilepsy
  • Hoarseness
  • Fluid retention
  • Sexual problems
  • Rheumatoid arthritis

It is also thought to be effective for preventing the effects of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and several forms of mental illness.

Glutamine: The most abundant free amino acid in the human body. It is manufactured naturally and plays a role in immune function, digestion, stress reactions, and cellular health.

Glutamine also affects the body’s blood sugar, creatine levels, and ammonia processing. It’s also thought to help improve athletic performance and exercise capacity.

Glutamine is useful as a nootropic aid because of its ability to help maintain the glutamate and GABA neurotransmitters. These are two of the main neurotransmitters responsible for learning and are necessary for proper memory function.

Phosphatidylserine: A phospholipid derived from amino acids that plays a role in the function of the body’s cellular tissue, particularly that found in the brain. Studies have shown that phosphatidylserine is useful for improving cognition, attention span and memory, as well as for helping prevent the decline in cognitive performance that comes with age.

Phosphatidylserine has shown to be effective for helping people with ADD stay focused for longer periods of time. It is also thought to be a precursor to choline, which is another key neurotransmitter.

It has also been shown to help the brain’s mental functioning in times of stress, which has also led to improved performances in testing situations. Phosphatidylserine is safe for the vast majority of users, especially as it is now no longer sourced from animals but manufactured under sterile circumstances.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine: An amino acid that is part of the body’s energy production process. It is also used to increase mitochondrial function in the body’s cells. It may also help with fat burning, blood pressure, and cardiac health.

Carnitine increases blood flow to the brain, which benefits both cognition and long-term mental health. It can also increase alertness and reaction time, as well as countering any of the negative mental effects of fatigue. Multiple studies have shown that L-carnitine has increased learning speed and retention time, as well as helping to guard against the effects of cognitive degradation.

Memotenz Quality of Ingredients

Our review team was very positive about Memotenz’s ingredients list. It does a good job of striking a balance between short-term performance boosting effects and long-term neuroprotection, and it does so without using any low-grade filler ingredients.

Bacopa monnieri is one of our team’s most highly recommended ingredients for a nootropic supplement due to its concrete effects on brain tissue. Ginkgo biloba is also very well respected because of the long clinical history of ginkgo products and their documented effects on memory.

Both ginkgo and bacopa work well in the short term, as does L-Carnitine, however they also become more potent as they are taken regularly. Memotenz’s ingredients are also effective for preventing oxidative damage to the brain and helping to reverse the effects of cognitive decline. It is useful both as a study or work performance aid and a daily neuroprotectant.

Jeff Plunkett says:

I’ve been taking Memotenz for 3 months now. I wouldn’t say it has had a noticeably distinct effect on my day to day lifestyle however I would admit I seem to retain information more quickly and for longer. I will be purchasing again when I have more exams to study for but I would recommend taking even if you are not studying to increase functionality in broader terms.

Sarah Sacca says:

I’ve been studying to get my real estate license while also working my day job, and I was having trouble keeping up. I figured I needed something to help me stay on task, so I started taking Memotenz. I’ve been doing one per day for the last three weeks or so, and it’s already starting to have a major impact on my effectiveness. I’m more alert and focused throughout my days, and I don’t ever seem to get that brain fog that used to happen when I’d get overwhelmed. Also I didn’t expect this, but my basketball game has gotten way better too – I’m more focused and aware on the court than I’ve ever been. Not the most important thing, but cool none the less.

rocco ciavarella says:

I’ve had a pretty bad coffee habit since college, and now that I’m a little older I was looking for something that’s more natural and more effective for mental performance, not just feeling “up.” Memotenz is much better than I thought it would be – though I’ll admit my expectations were pretty low, as stuff like this hasn’t really worked for me in the past. Unlike most other supplements I’ve tried, I could actually notice a boost in my alertness and concentration levels, and I’ve been far more productive at work. I only have a couple cups of coffee a week now, and those are just because I like it not because I need it to get through the day. I haven’t noticed any down side to it, like side effects or addiction or anything – it’s really pretty great.

Michael says:

I’m a computer programmer in a highly competitive department, so being able to focus and stay productive while at work is critical for me. What I feel like Memotenz has done is help me organize my thoughts in a more efficient manner, while also staying alert and energetic throughout the day. I’ve been taking it for just over two weeks, and I feel like I have clearer, more structured thinking. I don’t think it’s some miracle product, but it has been super helpful so far.

Jo BENNETT says:

I’m in my first semester of law school right now and I had really been struggling to keep up. There are so many different meetings, classes, projects, and exams that I was losing track and I wanted something that could help me stay on top of it.

Now I just take one Memotenz with breakfast and keeping up is a breeze. I’ve been more active and engaged in class, I’ve had an easier time retaining the concepts, and it’s helped me keep going through my longer days. I haven’t seen any side effects or downside at all, so this has totally become a necessary feature in my life.

Karley says:

Is it available in Australia?

anonymous says:

After the first week or two that I took Memotenz I thought that it was pretty good, but frankly I’d expected a little more. Their ads said that it could take a few weeks to reach maximum effectiveness, however, so I kept going for another week or so, and I slowly started to realize how much it was starting to affect me. I generally have this huge problem with remembering people’s names, but I realized at one point that I hadn’t made a mistake in days (a huge thing for me). I was remembering things that people told me better and I was also recalling specific facts and figures, which I never used to be able to do.

I’m also usually pretty introverted, but when I’m taking Memotenz I feel more social and outgoing than normal, and I actually have fun talking with people. This might be somewhat of a placebo effect just because I feel more confident knowing that my brain is working better, but also it really does help me listen to people, make connections, and enjoy the process more. Maybe it works for you, maybe it doesn’t, but for me it’s been a game-changer.

Tim Kelly says:

I started taking Memotenz halfway through last semester, and I’m really glad that I did. My grades were slipping and I needed to do something about it, so after seeing one of their ads online I bought a bottle of Memotenz and started taking it every morning before I went to class. My grades immediately started turning around, and I ended the semester with my best GPA so far. Also I don’t know if this is the Memotenz or not, but when I started taking it I also started to lose a lot of weight. My freshmen 15 disappeared and I stopped eating as much junk food as I had been. The customer service rep that I talked to was also super helpful, and he knew a lot about how it worked, which was one of the things that pushed me over the fence. Overall, it worked great for me, their people are nice and knowledgeable, and I saw some benefits I didn’t expect. Thank you for reading my review.

chris t says:

I’ve been experimenting with different nootropic products over the last few years, and some work great while others are total scams. I’ve tried everything from the super expensive stuff from fancy retailers online to the cheap over the counter stuff that’s in every drugstore in the country, and Memotenz is as good or better than any of the other brands that I’ve tried – even ones that cost far more than it does. Their customer service folks are also super helpful and have always been really sweet to me. It’s the best product, at the best price, from the best people.

Yolanda Aquino says:

I just finished nursing school and I don’t know if I would have been able to do it without Memotenz. I was working as a waitress at the time as well, so I was doing some long days and struggling to keep up. I had a lot to remember and a lot to keep organized during the day, but as soon as I started taking Memotenz all that stuff got way easier. Now that I finally have a full-time nursing gig with regular hours I still take Memotenz just because it helps me stay at my best throughout the day.

Paul Smith says:

I’m in my 60s now and I feel like I’ve been in kind of a funk for years. I knew that I wasn’t as sharp as I used to be, and that depressed me even more. I felt like I was in this mental fog where I wasn’t paying attention to anything because I didn’t care. I’ve been taking Memotenz for about a month now, and it really feels like that fog has lifted – I’ve got a clarity back that I didn’t realize was gone, and I feel motivated and excited in ways that I haven’t for years. I’ve cleaned my house and landscaped my lawn, I organized my garage and threw out years’ worth of old junk that I know I don’t need. It’s good to feel like I’m smart and capable again.

k bibb says:

Just ordered it, will update in a few weeks

Marla says:

This is the best nootropic that I’ve tried – and I’ve tried a lot of them. This stuff makes me feel alert, focused and creative for hours, but also It’s gotten more potent as I’ve been taking it. I used to drink 2-3 cups of coffee per day, but since I’ve been using Memotenz it’s down to just 2-3 per week, and just when I’m actually tired. There’s no crash from Memotenz like there is with coffee or other stimulant-based nootropics either. It’s part of my daily ritual now.

Nick says:

How much does it cost?

kevin p says:

Memotenz has been huge for me. It’s helped me take my thinking to the next level and operate with a higher degree of efficiency. My mood is generally better, and my ADD interferes with my daily performance far less since I started using it. It also had some other benefits that I didn’t expect, including the fact that my painting has really taken off since I can stay focused and creative for longer, and I’ve been craving far less junk food than I usually do. I don’t really know why, but I’ll take it! This stuff is just great.

Rob barcellona says:

I’m pretty skeptical about supplements and stuff like this in general, but I’ve actually started to really see a difference in my memory after taking Memotenz. It’s not a miracle pill or anything, but I can just tell that I’m forgetting or losing track of a lot less than I was before I started taking it. My general focus and attention span are better too – again, nothing crazy, I’m just better at listening, staying attentive, and not getting sidetracked during work.

Paul Sinclair says:

To Whom It May Concern:

I would be interested in trying Memotenz for 30 days treatement in order to enhance my memory.
I am in a desperate need of brain enhancement to overcome a huge amount of information I am required to learn for my exam.
I am wondering if this treatement is legal in Canada?
Your help would be highly appreciated.

Aaron J says:

The use of nutritional supplements is an everyday practice for millions of Canadians. In 2015, 45.6% of Canadians aged one year and older (approximately 15.7 million people) used at least one nutritional supplement. About 45% of children aged 1 to 3 years and 4 to 8 years old took nutritional supplements

Larry says:

Memotenz CAN have fantastic results. Just depends on your body chemistry. For me, it has done wonders. I was always walking around in a daze not being able to focus on anything. I felt like I was just observing my life go by. Like someone else was behind the wheel and I was just watching. I was constantly stressed. Not being able to think clearly like I used to. I tried Memotenz. At first I didn’t notice any effects. So I changed the way I took it. I started just mixing it in water and drinking it. The effects we’re subtle. But then I started taking it sublingually (under the tongue and let it dissolve for about 10 min) and the effects we’re so much better. I’m no longer walking around in a Haze and I am no longer getting stressed out over nothing. I can tolerate walking through Walmart again without getting frustrated or stressed. This stuff has greatly improved my overall mood. Memotenz is cheap and worth buying to try. If you try it, start with small doses if you don’t notice much effect or get headaches, then add a choline source. This stuff DOES work if used properly.
