What is it?

Adipessum is a weight loss pill made to help suppress appetite and remove inches off your waist. Though the brand is described as being made with “miracle Chinese capsules”, most of its promotions are in Spanish.

This brand promises to help get rid of water weight and anxiety though its mixture of ancient Chinese ingredients. Finding information on this brand can be difficult, since there are multiple 3rd party retailers that offer very little information on this brand. Though it’s claimed to help produce many benefits that make up a well-rounded weight loss supplement. So is it safe to use? What kinds of effects have customers experienced? You’ll learn the truth behind Adipessum in this review.

Adipessum Ingredients and Side Effects

No supplements facts list is provided, so it’s unknown how much of these ingredients is added. Also, they misspelled lotus leaf as well:

Atractylodes Rhizome Oriental Water Plantain Rhizome Artichoke Kola Nuts Cyamoposis Gum
Astralagus Root Extract Cassia Seed Lotus Leat Alfalfa L-Carnitine

Atractylodes Rhizome: The roots of this plant have been used in Chinese medicine. It’s meant to promote healthy digestion and reduced swelling.

Studies have only shown it to be safe for a short period. Possible side effects are:

  • Dry mouth and a bad taste in the mouth.
  • Nausea.

Web MD confirms the lack of evidence for this ingredient:

“isn’t enough information to know if other atractylodes products are safe”

Not much information exists for this ingredient to know if it truly works. None of the websites explain the purpose or science behind any of these ingredients.

Oriental Water Plantain Rhyzome: This plant is used to treat bladder and kidney diseases.  Though information on this ingredient is limited:

“There isn’t enough information to know how water plantain works”

This is according to Web MD.  They also add:

“Water plantain may be UNSAFE and toxic”

Without much information, it’s unknown if this has any use.

Kola Nuts: Nut taken from the kola tree, which is found in parts of Africa. It’s used to increase energy and boost metabolism. This effect is due to its stimulants that include caffeine.

This can promote side effects that include:

  • Rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, and cardiovascular damage.
  • Insomnia, restlessness, and fatigue.
  • Anxiety, agitation, and feelings of fear.
  • Mood swings, irritability, and depression.
  • Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Incontrollable shakes, spasms, and twitches.

It’s also not advised for long term or heavy use, as it can further increase the risk for side effects.

Cyamoposis Gum: More commonly known as guar gum, this common thickener is made from seeds taken from the guar plant.

It’s used for weight loss since it can suppress appetite. Though it’s advised to always take this with at least 8 ounces of water in order to avoid digestive issues. Side effects can include:

  • Increased flatulence, burping, and bowel movements.
  • Stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea.
  • Reduced vitamin and mineral absorption that can lead to deficiencies.
  • Blockage of the esophagus and throat.

This ingredient can pose a potential choking hazard, especially when not enough water is drank.

Astralagus Root Extract: Herb long used in Chinese medicine that is known as an adaptogen. This means it’s helpful for promoting stress relief during times of tension.

The University of Maryland Medical Center reviewed this ingredient and they mention that:

“People should work with a knowledgeable provider to determine the appropriate dosing”

This is in order to determine one’s own tolerance for this ingredient. Otherwise, it can potentially lead to side effects. It’s advised to dose carefully since everyone’s body responds differently to this.

Cassia Seed: This wild seed grows in parts of China. It was traditionally used to help promote healthy vision.

Not much information exists about this ingredient in terms of real clinical studies.  All the claimed benefits are made without any evidence. Possible side effects may include:

  • Gastrointestinal discomfort.
  • Diarrhea, bathroom issues, and nausea.
  • Gas.

It is advised to take this only with medical supervision due to potential side effects.

Alfalfa: Herb that is used to educe the amount of cholesterol that is absorbed in the gut. This ingredient also has its seeds and sprouts used as food.

Web MD also adds:

“alfalfa seeds long-term is LIKELY UNSAFE”

“may cause reactions that are similar to the autoimmune disease called lupus”

The FDA also released a statement that those with weakened immune systems may experience health complications. This is because it can test the immune system and cause deficiencies.

L-Carnitine: This amino acid is used to help produce energy as well as help with other body processes.

Although it’s useful for helping burn fat, this effect is only possible for those who are deficient. Deficiencies of this amino acid are often rare however.

Possible side effects from unnecessary supplementation can include:

  • Nausea and vomiting.
  • Diarrhea and stomach problems.
  • Heartburn.
  • Seizures.
  • Bad smelling breath, sweat, and urine.

Use of this is not necessary for most, and it’s found in common foods such as nuts, meats, wheat, and certain vegetables. Typically, those who need it would already know that they are deficient.

Adipessum Quality Of Ingredients

adipessumThese ingredients come in unknown quantities, and it’s unknown whether or not they’re made in a GMP certified facility.

This means that the company might be solely responsible for producing this ingredient, and they don’t make Adipessum in a FDA backed facility.

The additives offered are either understudied, such as cassia seed, atractylodes rhizome, and oriental water plantain rhizome.

L-Carnitine is not necessary for most people either, as deficiencies are rare.

The cyamoposis gum is a common thicker that requires water in order to avoid a potential choking hazard. The overall quality is poor, since many of these ingredients are either unnecessary, potentially dangerous, or not yet proven to work.

The Price and Quality of Adipessum

The cheapest price available is $29.99 for a one-month supply.

Though because of the lack of a supplements facts list, it’s unknown how much of each ingredient is included. They fail to add any information on the science of these ingredients either.

Without much more knowledge, it’s impossible for even a medical professional to know if this would be safe for one to take.

This means the overall quality of this is extremely poor. You won’t know what you’re putting into your body, and it’s unknown if this formula is made fresh or if batches are dated.

Business of Adipessum

Though there’s no official website for this product, there is a image of their supplement which provides information. It claims to be operated by the Health Advance Supplements company that’s based in the US.

No website or information exists for this company. It’s unknown how they operate or if they offer money back returns.

All sales are made only via 3rd party manufacturers. So it’s unknown if batches of this are still fresh or made by the manufacturers.

One facebook profile claims to make this brand, but their website sells many discontinued supplements.

Customer Opinions of Adipessum

Reviews for this brand are scattered on many forums and random websites. Here’s what some people have had to say:

“it is unclear which of the ingredients are (for weight loss)”

“shaky and a bit anxious”

“you do have to drink a lot, a lot of water”

“you will get a feeling of throwing up”

There were also a lot of good reviews but only on sites that sell this brand. One of these sites appeared to have fake reviews, since many of the positive opinions exaggerated many benefits.

The people who had negative things to say mention a large amount of side effects. This includes digestive issues, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping.

Some of these ingredients have been shown to be potentially toxic as well. There’s a lot of problems with the lack of information provided .You won’t know what you’re getting with this product, and it’s unknown who makes it.
