What is it?

Mini Thins are weight loss tablets made to help produce a thermogenic and energy stimulating effect. It’s claimed to provide “Hi Speed Energy & Enhanced Stamina”.

The intended benefits of this are to increase energy, produce fat burning ,and to help suppress appetite. It’s said to help provide an effect unlike any other diet supplement. Some of these claimed benefits are an enhanced metabolism for quicker calorie burning. It’s mean to help dieters lose weight easier, without any of the hunger pains that can make it a chore to lose weight. Are these claims actually real? What have others experienced? In this Mini Thins  review you’ll learn the fascinating truth about this supplement.

Mini Thins Ingredients and Side Effects

Here are the ingredients to the new Mini Thins formula:

Caffeine Anhydrous Bitter Orange Peel Extract Asian Ginseng Extract Ginger Root Extract Green Tea Extract
Kola Nut Extract Rhodiola Rosea Extract White Willow Bark Extract Dicalcium Phosphate Microcrystalline Cellulose
Gelatin Magnesium Stearate Silicon Dioxide Red # 3 Titanium Dioxide
Red # 40 Yellow 5 Aluminum Lake

Caffeine Anhydrous: Dehydrated form of caffeine added for a stimulant boost. There’s around 205 mg added, which at the maximum dosage of 3 a day amounts to 615 mg.

The Mayo Clinic advises to only get a maximum of 4o0 mg  a day in order to avoid possible side effects. Side effects that may include:

  • Rapid heart rate, agitation, and high blood pressure.
  • Stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular damage.
  • Anxiety, mood swings, and depression.
  • Insomnia, fatigue, and restlessness.

Much of caffeine’s positive effects are also reduced to nothing except sleep loss with repeat use. The body will create a tolerance to these effects, making the only benefit being sleep loss.

Bitter Orange Peel Extract: Stimulant plant extract used to increase energy, suppress appetite, and increase metabolism.

Web MD adds how it’s not a safe ingredient:

“POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken as a supplement for a medial purpose such as weight loss”

“when taken with stimulants such as caffeine… increases the risk for high blood pressure, fainting, heart attack, stroke ,and other severe side effects”

Since Mini Thins does have caffeine in it, this may increase the likelihood of suffering from severe side effects.

When combining both caffeine and bitter orange, there’s actually a multiplied effect that may also trigger unwanted side effects.

Asian Ginseng Extract: Traditional Asian herb used to reduce stress, improve brain health, and to increase memory formations.

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health mentions:

“research results to date do not conclusively support health claims associated with this herb”

In certain people this ingredient may cause severe allergic reactions.

Green Tea Extract: Common tea used due to its caffeine and antioxidants.

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health has expresses concern over this ingredient:

“have been some case reports of liver problems in people taking green tea extracts”

They also mention the failing of any positive weight loss results:

“not enough reliable data to determine whether green tea can aid in weight loss”

Possible side effects are similar to the one’s listed in the Caffeine Anhydrous section.

Kola Nut Extract: This seed is grown in parts of Africa, it’s used due to its natural stimulant effects that comes from its caffeine.

Web MD has also expressed concern over this ingredient:

“Taking cola nut by mouth in very large doses is LIKELY UNSAFE”

Possible side effects from this include:

  • Anxiety, mood swings, and paranoia.
  • Rapid heart rate, agitation, and cardiovascular damage.
  • Headaches, ringing in the ears, and migraine headaches.
  • Jitters, muscle spasm, and cold sweats.

It’s recommended to watch the intake of this ingredient, since repeat use can raise the risk for side effects.

White Willow Bark Extract: Bark from the willow tree that’s used due to its aspirin like effects.  Possible side effects can include:

  • Upset stomach and nausea.
  • Allergic reactions such as itching and rash.
  • Digestive issues.

In some people this may cause stomach bleeding, as well as serious allergic reactions.

Red # 3, Red # 40, Yellow 4 Aluminum Lake: Food colorings that have no nutritional value. They’re only added to help give this a certain color.

Possible side effects from these ingredients include:

  • Allergic reactions.
  • Hyperactivity.
  • DNA damage that can lead to cancer.
  • The Center for Science in the Public Interest also adds:

“RED 40… may accelerate the appearance of immune system tumors in mice”

“Yellow 5… was not adequately tested in mice…. It may be contaminated with several cancer-causing chemicals”

They also add since there’s no nutritional benefit to these ingredients, there’s no reason why they should be added. The Center for Science in the Public Interest is currently petitioning the FDA to help ban these food colorings.

Mini Thins Quality Of Ingredients

Mini ThinsThe ingredients added to these are commonly featured in other weight loss supplements. There’s no evidence that this would fare any better than other brands. Also, there’s a heavy use of artificial food colorings that may produce unwanted side effects.

Stimulants at this rate are not advised, due to the lack of benefits with repeat use. There’s no evidence that this brand would be safe to use repeatedly, nor that it would produce beneficial weight loss effects.

Many of the combinations of these ingredients have been shown in some studies to be potentially harmful, and even fatal. It’s also advised not to take this brand too late in the day, as it may trigger insomnia.

The Price and Quality of Mini Thins

The official website sells a 24 count bottle for $14.99. This makes it a cheap weight loss brand. However, no money back return is offered.

Since the majority of these ingredients are added for a stimulant effect, there are many possible side effects that may occur. Also, relying on stimulants for long-term weight loss is not recommended, as the body can quickly develop a tolerance.

This brand has many common ingredients that the average weight loss supplement already has. There’s no evidence from the manufactures that this blend would do any better. It’s because of all these reasons, that this is a poor mixture of ingredients.

The additives may potentially cause serious side effects, clinical studies have shown that some of these additives alone may cause symptoms.

Business of Mini Thins

The creators of this brand are BDI Pharmaceuticals. The new owners of this brand are called DBI Distribution, you can reach them below:

Phone Number: (800) 428-2352

Address: 9700 North Michigan Road

Carmel, Indiana 46032

The FDA sent a warning letter to the original company for the following:

“Significant adverse reactions lined to the use of “Mini Thin” tablets as a weight loss drug have been reported”

The original formula for this brand had the now banned ingredient ephedrine.

It appears that BDI Pharmaceuticals no longer sells this brand, as there’s no official product website from the,, and the company website does not list his as one of their supplements.

DBI Distribution sells a new reformulated version of this supplement. They fail to provide a nutrition facts list, so it’s unknown at what strength each ingredient is added in.

They also never explain if a money back return policy is allowed.

Both versions are available online, the now banned Mini Thins, and the new formula.  The newer formula features limited information as to its intended use.

Customer Opinions of Mini Thins

Finding reviews on this brand can be difficult, as the new version isn’t well known. Here are a few of the customer experiences provided online:

“does absolutely nothing for you”

“THESE ARE NOTHING BUT CAFFEINE”

“they did absolutely nothing”

“they are ok, but not strong enough for me”

The most common complaint was about a lack of any noticeable change at all. People mentioned it was a waste of money, and that they didn’t lose weight, have increased energy, nor did they have their appetite suppressed.

Since no money back return policy is offered, people had to spend money to no effect.

Conclusion – Does Mini Thins Work?

When considering whether or not to purchase Mini Thins, it’s important to look at all the supporting evidence. Claims are made about the benefits of this, but users have experienced a total lack of weight loss benefits. The types of ingredients added are common stimulants that may produce unwanted side effects. There’s also no money back or safety guarantee.

Amanda Anaya says:

I’ve been on mini things for 4 months I started for the energy but learned it was for weight loss as well it suppresses my appetite , I was 179-184lbs my weight is now down to 135 lbs and I feel great! Every one’s body works different mine just happens to achieve what I wanted to without really trying and I only take half a pill. But now after the end of month 4 im getting night time cold sweats. So I’m going to have to stop them sadly.

Roger Lastname says:

Take 1 or 2 of the Mini Thins (with Ephedrazine) and 1 or 2 Caffeine pills (200mg caffeine) and I’m ready to go. I use the Mini Thins for energy and not weight loss/appetite control, but I can see how the Mini Thins can help in that regard. I miss the old formula with the Ephedrine cause that stuff REALLY worked for energy/weight loss
