 What is it?

PhenTabz is a weight loss brand made to suppess appetite via it’s clinically designed ingredients. It’s claimed that the effects in this brand were once only available through prescriptions, but new pharmacological research has made it available for anyone.

It’s intended to burn fat and raise metabolism using its stimulant ingredients. It claims to help people safely lose weight every day, while getting rid of body fat and not just water weight. Increased energy and reduced appetite are also some of the claimed benefits. So is PhenTabz truly an effective solution for weight loss? Is this stimulant formula safe to use? In this review you’ll learn the truth about what this supplement truly has to offer.

PhenTabz Ingredients and Side Effects

The company fails to list the official ingredients on their website. Customers who uploaded images of the supplements facts list show that the ingredients are:

7-Methyltheophylline Methylhexaneamine Octopamine

7-Methyltheophylline: The chemical name for caffeine. Since the ingredients are provided in a proprietary formula, it’s unknown how much is added.

Taking unknown amunts of caffeine can be potentially dangerous, especially when mixed alongside other stimulants which is the case with PhenTabz.

Though caffeine does improve energy and metabolism, these effects are limited to a short time use. Examine.com mentions:

“Habitual caffeine use leads to tolerance, which dulls several of caffeine’s effects… often to the point where the only benefit a user experiences is caffeine’s anti-sleep effect”

It’s required to cycle this ingredient in order to experience any benefits. However, in terms of weight loss, it’s not a particularly potent ingredient. It may also produce unwanted symptoms that include:

  • Rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular damage.
  • Insomnia, restlessness, and fatigue.
  • Diarrhea, stomach problems, and nausea.
  • Mood swings, anxiety, and paranoia.
  • Jitters, cold sweats, and muscle spasms.

The daily advised limit for most people is around 400 mg, it’s unknown how much caffeine is added to PhenTabz. Since certain people have more sensitivity to this ingredient, it’s important to know how much is added.

Methylhexaneamine: Known as DMAA, this ingredient is not allowed in supplements and the FDA has banned it due to the posisiblity for damaging health effects.

The FDA has this to say:

“found illegally in some ditary supplements”

“especially in combination with other ingredients such as caffeine, can be a health risk to consumers”

“can elevated blood pressure and lead to cardiovascular problems ranging from shortness of breath and tightening in the chest to heart attack”

This is why it’s no longer allowed in US based supplements. This ingredient has also been baned in major sporting organiaitons. When athletes use it, it shows up as amphetamine in drug tests.

5 deaths have also been reported as a result of this ingredient. Possible side effects can be fatal and they include

  • Increased blood pressure, stroke, and heart attack.
  • Stroke, anxiety, and rapid heart rate.
  • Death and cardiovasucar damage.

Due to the high risk factor for serious health issues, it’s often advised to not take this ingredient under any circumstances.

There is no information about how much of this would be taken to have a safe effect.  Research for this ingredient is no longer done, since it’s widely banned.

Octopamine:  This is most commonly known as bitter orange. This stimulant stimulates the central nervous system, and increase metabolism and energy.

It squeezes blood vessels, raises heart rate, and increase blood pressure. Web MD also mentions that this ingredient is:

“POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken as a supplement for a medical purpose such as weight loss”

Possible side effects are many and they can include:

  • High blood pressure, fainting, and stroke.
  • Rapid heart rate, heart attack, and increased risk for cardiovascular symptoms.
  • Migraine headaches and ringing in the ears.
  • Death.

The possibility for side effects is increased when it’s mixed alongside caffeine. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health mentions:

“There have been case reports of fainting, heart attack, and stroke in healthy people using bitter orange supplements alone or combined with caffeine”

The possibility for multiplied effects is also possible when mixing caffeine and bitter orange together. No studies are available to show what kind of an effect it may have when combined with DMAA.

PhenTabz Quality of Ingredients

PhenTabzPhenTabz combines a banned ingredient, a cheap stimulant in caffeine, and a potentially dangerous additive in bitter orange together. Each of these alone can potentially cause side effects. Without knowing the full amount of each, it’s impossible to properly dose this brand according to one’s own needs.

This blend contains DMAA which is not allowed in supplements, so it’s unknown how this brand is still being sold. The FDA has concluded that this ingredient can be life threatening and damaging to overall health.

Due to the possibility of dangerous side effects, the kinds of ingredients found in this brand are not long-term solutions for weight loss. It may even cause death.

No information is available to show what these ingredients might do to the body, when they are mixed together. The makers fail to provide any information about how they tested this supplement, if they tested it at all.

The Price and Quality of PhenTabz

A one month supply sells for $69, when purchased directly from the manufacturers.  The official website does not state how much of each ingredient is added, so it’s impossible to determine if it’s added in a safe or effective amount.

This is key information needed to know if these stimulants would be safe to use, since every body  type has a different tolerance level for stimulants. Due to the possibility for severe side effects, and the fact that there’s a banned stimulant which cannot be used in the US, these ingredients are poor.

Not enough information is provided about this brands exact ingredient strength to know whether or not it would be safe. The fact it has a banned ingredient makes this a potentially dangerous supplement.

The company has failed to respond. It’s also unclear what the connection is between Lexium International and Gentech Enterprises.

“This is the worst product I have ever used”

Though people do mention they felt an increase in energy, they also add that this was uncomfortable, and that it leads to many side effects. Some symptoms customers experienced include anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, headaches, cold sweats, jitters, rapid heart rate, stomach cramps, and many other issues.

These are all common side effects that can be experienced when using stimulants. Many people also added that they failed to lose any weight, and that they couldn’t continue taking this brand due to its stimulant effects.
