What is it?

Xenadrine is a weight loss pill brand made to produce results using a scientifically studied ingredient for significant results. It claims that one study showed a 10.95 pound reduction of weight in 60 days using this key ingredient.

Other intended benefits are increased energy and metabolism, and they provide a commercial showing people who have lost over 20 pounds. Over 9 million bottles of this have been sold according to the website. It even comes with a blue coated capsule meant to provide quick effects. So is Xenadrine truly an effective weight loss supplement? Is it safe to use? In this comprehensive review you’ll learn everything you need to know about this brnad.

Xenadrine Ingredients and Side Effects

Here are the ingredients to their Xenadrine Ultimate Weight Loss Formua:

Robusta Coffe Bean Extract (standardized to 45% chlorogenic acids) Caffeine Anhydrous Yohimbe Bark Extract Garcinia Fruit Extract (standardized to 50% hydroxycitric acid)
L-theanine Spearmint Leaf Extract Autumn Olive Fruit Extract Ashwagandha Root and Leaf Extract

Robusta Coffee Bean Extract: More commonly known as green coffee bean. These are coffee beans which are immature and not roasted.  This is meant to preserve its natural compounds.

Though it’s used for weight loss, Examine.com adds:

“seems weakly to moderately effective on these parameters”

“does not appear to be as potent as some other supplements”

The study used by Xenadrine showing the benefits of this ingredient were funded by a company who make a patented version of green coffee bean. Therefore, there’s a possibility for bias.  It also was given to people on a:

“bland low calorie diet”

It’s believed that the reason for its effects is due to the caffeine. This can potentially lead to side effects that include:

  • Restlesness and anxiety.
  • Rapid heart rate, jitters, and muscle spasms.
  • Difficulty breathing, ringing in the ears, and nausea.
  • Vomiting and stomach issues.

There’s a lack of information on whether or not the only effects possible are due to the caffeine.

Caffeine Anhydrous: Dehydrated version of caffeine added to supplements since it’s easier to absorb than regular fcaffeine. It increases energy, provides mental focus, and can help raise metabolism.

Caffeine requires cycling in order to keep its positive effects, otherwise it can lead to tolerance which reduces it to only sleep loss. A full serving provides 400 mg of caffeine, which is the advised maximum limit. Though since there are other stimulants are added to this blend, it’s unknown what kind of an effect it may have on health.

Possible side effects may include:

  • Insomnia, fatigue, and restlessness.
  • Rapid heart rate, anxiety, and cardiovascular problems.
  • Headaches, ringing in the ears, and migraines.
  • Mood swings, depression, and irratibility.

Since not everyone has the same tolerance for caffeine, it’s advised to slowly introduce this ingredient to prevent any serious side effects.

Yohimbe Bark Extract: A bark extract taken from an evergreen tree which is used to raise energy, increase metabolism, and improve blood flow.  Yohimbe is known to have a high risk for potentially casing anxiety, and a lack of weight loss results when taken on a full stomach.

Web MD also adds:

“Yohimbe, taken by mouth, is POSSIBLY UNSAFE”

“has been linked to reports of serious side effects”

These can include symptoms that include:

  • Rapid heart rate, stroke, and heart attack.
  • Difficulty breathing, pain in the chest, and hyperventilation.
  • Vomiting, ill feelings, and agitation.
  • Kidney failure and seizures.

There have also been case reports od people dying from taking this ingredient by itself. When combined with other stimulants like the ones found in Xenadrine, this may potentially increase the risk factor for side effects.

Certain people may also develop an allergic reaction to this. It may cause swelling, inflammation, rash, and difficulty breathing.

Garcinia Fruit Extract: A fruit found in parts of Asia, it’s a potent weight loss ingredient when found in the right amounts. Xenadrine adds an extract containing 50% hydroxycitric acid, which is underwhelming since brands containing more of this have shown better weight loss effects.

Spearmint Leaf Extract: This herb is used to help soothe the stomach.

Ashwagandha Root and Leaf Extract: Plant extract that is used in Ayurvedic medicine as a way to soothe the mind, and to provide a calming effect on the body.

Large amounts of it can cause:

  • Upset stomach and nausea.
  • Diarrhea and vomiting.

Web MD also adds:

“The long-term safety of Ashwagandha is not known”

Due to the lack of information on its long term effects, it’s unknown what it might do with repeat use.

Xenadrine Quality of Ingredients

XenadrineThough it’s made with all natural ingredients, additives like green coffee, yohimbe, and caffeine may produce unwanted side effects.  It may potentially cause symptoms even when there are taken on their own.

The added garcinia cambogia is a good weight loss ingredient, but there’s only 50% hydroxycitric acid, which isn’t as strong as other more potent types of HCA.

There’s a possibility for serious side effects when using this much caffeine, and that’s why the quality of ingredients is poor. Caffeine can easily be replaced with foods, though it’s not advised due to the possibility for side effects. There’s also no benefit to taking caffeine for long periods. The effects of this are limited to just sleep loss when used repeatedly.

The Price and Quality of Xenadrine

No direct sales are offered, but the company does list different 3rd party retailers which sell their supplements. Xenadrine Ultimate Weight Loss sells for $17.97 for a 120 capsule supply in most stores.

Though it seems inexpensive, a major part of this supplement is the added caffeine. They add a few ingredients into a proprietary blend, but many of these can be found cheaper elsewhere.

As you’ll see in the “Customer Opinions of Xenadrine” section, many people have described it as being just a caffeine pill.

Business of Xenadrine

The company is owned by Iovate Health Sciences International Inc. They can be reached using the following customer service contact information:

Address: 381 North Service Road West

Oakville, ON Canada L6M OH4

They fail to add an email or phone number on the official website. The Xenadrine brand had previous owners which were subject to a massive FTC lawsuit. They were found guilty of making unproven weight loss and health claims.

A clinical study into a Xenadrine brand conducted by Yale University School of Medicine foiund it to have:

“unreasonable risk of illness or injury”

The new owners also had issues with the FTC, they were required to pay $5.5 million for:

“making deceptive health claims”

The FDA also sent them a notice about one of their weight loss products:

“liver toxicity associated with the use of multiple versions of the dietary supplement”

The FDA concluded that the ingredients used in their weight loss supplements could be life threatening.

The manufacturers currently have 6 complaints on their Better Busines Bureua page:

“All I wanted… was a refund, still waiting on it”

“I cannot find any information”

“Product has failed to deliver on any of the advertised effects”

People had trouble trying to reach the company, since they only offer an address on the Xenadrine website.

Customer Opinions of Xenadrine

Here are a few select reviews listed on their Amazon.com page:

“I felt crazy and all frazzled all day”

“I was jittery for about an hour or two after taing it”

“great if you need a bit of an energy boost… It’s really nothing more than that. Just a caffeine pill”

“gives me the jitters and pounding heart more than anything”

Many people who took it say it gave them energy, but they also add that it didn’t do anything else. There were major complaints that this brand is nothing but a caffeine pill, which could be replaced with coffee or tea.

There were also issues with side effects that included rapid heart rate, jitters, insomnia, mood swings, anxiety, headaches, and severe dehydration.

Conclusion – Does Xenadrine Work?

Before making a final decision on Xenadrine, it’s important to look at how customers have reviewed it, and whether or not the ingredients are added in a safe amount. A full serving provides 400 mg of caffeine, which is the advised maximum limit for safety. Many users have felt that this brand is simply a caffeine pill, which can be replaced with coffee or tea. There have also been issues with side effects from multiple people.

A stimulant can only produce effects for so long before it needs to be cycled. A much better, wholesome approach to weight loss is possible using the 2024 supplement of the year called Sletrokor.

Not only does this supplement contain natural plant botanicals, but testimonials are available from people who’ve lost significant amounts of weight without side effects. This is because its proprietary formula is added in select amounts for real weight loss.

You can even try Sletrokor risk free, using their 30-day money back return. This ironclad deal allows customers to try this brand, and if you don’t like it, returns are offered no questions asked.
