Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 Ingredients and Side Effects

According to the product label, Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 is made exclusively from a variety of probiotic strains. Here’s a bit more information on how probiotics work, and what you’ll find in this specific product:

Lactobacillus

Lactobacillus: Lactobacillus is a type of bacteria, though there are many strains that fall into this category. Generally speaking, lactobacillus is a “friendly” bacteria present in our digestive tracts.

So-called “good” bacteria help us break down food and absorb the nutrients we take in. They also help us fight off “bad” bacteria that cause illnesses or diarrhea.

This bacterium is used to treat things like diarrhea, even infectious types of diarrhea like traveler’s diarrhea, as well s diarrhea caused by antibiotics (which may wipe out a lot of good bacteria found in the gut).

Lactobacillus is primarily used to treat conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, vaginal infections and UTIs, the common cold and more.

Lactobacillus may also help with lactose intolerance, Lyme disease, acne and high cholesterol.

Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 Quality of Ingredients

Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 only contains strains of the lactobacillus variety. Yes, there are several different strains of lactobacillus, which offer a range of health benefits from hormone support to digestion and immune support, and maybe even some relief for the lactose intolerant.

It’s unclear why Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 opted to leave other probiotic bacteria like Bifidobacterium out of the formula, but they may be missing out on some diversity that you can find in other probiotic supplements.

In the context of discussing this product’s use as a menopause relief supplement, the benefits Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 can provide may be secondary to getting hormones under control.

During menopause, women may experience some changes in vaginal pH, leading to dryness or infection. Probiotics may be able to offer some extra support, as any change in the body can deplete our natural reserves of “good bacteria.”

In the end, this could be a good product, but we’d suggest looking elsewhere for a menopause product if you’re looking for something that can improve things like night sweats and hot flashes.

The Price and Quality of Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10

Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 is listed on the official website, but the maker of this product, Nature’s Bounty does not actually sell directly to consumers. Rather, they act as a distributor selling only to third-party retailers.

This product may be purchased though Amazon, who is currently offering Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 at $11.87 per 60 count container. Users who are Prime members may also take advantage of free shipping.

Users may also find this product at CVS, Walgreens, Vitacost and more, though the price ranges from $11.75 to $23 at the highest end of the spectrum.

We’re not sure whether we’d consider Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 a good value. This product is relatively affordable, as compared to other probiotic solutions on the market, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best choice. It’s clear that this doesn’t do a ton for vaginal health concerns, and even less for menopause symptoms.

Business of Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10

Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 is made by the natural supplements company, Nature’s Bounty. Here’s a bit more information on this company:

Nature’s Bounty is a well-established maker of natural supplements designed to address issues like weight control, women’s health, sleep, stress and beauty.

The company doesn’t really lay out how they got started or why, but they do mention a commitment to quality, natural products and so on. They also don’t list an address or phone number on their website — only a form in case someone needs to get in touch.

Across their various products, actual scientific data or even anything beyond a short sentence or two, are missing — leaving some consumers without much information about the supplement their considering.

This company doesn’t provide users with much information about what probiotics do or who should take them. Most people have some idea that probiotics have an effect in the digestive system, but it’s nice to have something to read before making a buying decision.

While Nature’s Bounty only sells their products to third-party retailers they do offer a store locator. The fact that this product is available from so many reputable sellers like Amazon, CVS and more leads us to believe this is a good brand that consumers can trust.

Customer Opinions of Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10

Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 does have mostly positive reviews, but there was a sizeable chunk of past users who were not entirely satisfied with the results they got from taking this supplement. Below, we’ve listed some of the feedback we found:

“Could really tell the difference even after only a week or so of use. This product, along with some changes to my diet, has really helped me overcome my digestive problems — no gas or diarrhea, this is great!”

“Tried Nature’s Bounty several times over the past few months, and every time I started taking this I felt gassy, bloated or got diarrhea—precisely what this is supposed to treat. Maybe I got a bad batch?”

“Mu doctor recommended I try this product after ongoing stomach problems. I’ve been taking this witgh digestive enzymes and have seen great results. My stomach looks nice and flat and I feel a lot better.”

“I mean, this product is pretty good, given the low price point, but I’d recommend investing a bit more cash in something better. This didn’t help with my IBS issues the way other supplements have.”

Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 was really only reviewed by people looking for a way to deal with issues like IBS, diarrhea, gas or other chronic digestive issues. There’s no mention of anyone using this for yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis.

There are other probiotics created with women’s health concerns in mind. Because this product contains only lactobacillus strains, rather than a broader spectrum of bacteria, this product is likely only a good option for those suffering from stomach problems.

Even those consumers using this product to improve their digestive system did not have overwhelmingly positive reviews—there was some variation in efficacy from user to user.

It may also help with immune system health, but there were no reviewers that mentioned that was their reason for buying this product.

Based on the information we found, it’s clear that this product does very little to alleviate menopausal symptoms, and we’d recommend that our reader look at other products for best results.

Conclusion – Does Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 Work?

Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 may well be a great choice if you’re on the hunt for a solid probiotic. This product got some pretty good reviews and offers 10 different strains of lactobacillus in every dose.

We have seen other probiotics that include more diversity in terms of bacteria, but this product seems especially effective in helping users dealing primarily with digestive issues.

We didn’t come across too many users with vaginal issues they were attempting to treat with probiotics, so this may not be the perfect solution if that’s what you’re after. Additionally, it’s unlikely to offer any unique benefit to menopausal women.

Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 clearly has some good health benefits, as probiotics generally do, so users looking to improve their all-around health might do really well with this product.

For menopausal women, it’s a good idea to try something containing ingredients with vaginal health benefits, but primarily those that focus on hormone support.

In evaluating a number of competitors’ products, we’ve found that Femmetrinol can best help users achieve relief from the most uncomfortable menopause symptoms women have to deal with.

Femmetrinol is produced in a GMP-certified facility and takes extra precautions to ensure consumers get a safe product that delivers all advertised benefits. Click here for the full ingredient profile of Femmetrinol.

Diane Frey says:

I’ve purchased your Acidophilus Probiotic for sometime now without a problem, however the last bottle I purchased was defective. When I opened the bottle some of the pills where crushed and in pieces and a lot of them were powdered at the bottom, which shorted the amount of pills in side. I’m saying a lot of pills, about a full teaspoon and a half plus all the broken pills;
Disappointed

Jeff says:

Does Nature’s Bounty Probiotic 10 have to be refrigerated after I open it and start using it? I have been doing that, works pretty good, but just wanted to know if that’s necessary……………thanks.
