VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories Ingredients and Side Effects

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories contains several herbs that aim to boost libido, as well as a few items known for their effect on menopause. Here’s a look at what’s inside:

Short chain fructo-oligosaccharides Lactic Acid

Short chain fructo-oligosaccharides: Found in foods like Jerusalem artichokes and more, fructo-oligosaccharides are typically used as a prebiotic — a substance that probiotics (good bacteria essential for gut and vaginal health) feed on.

The presence of prebiotics, which remain undigested in the body, allows probiotics to grow and thrive.

Lactic Acid: Lactic acid promotes an acidic environment for the body’s flora, killing off bad bacteria, but allowing good bacteria to flourish. Lactic acid is thought to improve vaginal pH, eliminating odor and staving off yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis (BV).

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories Quality of Ingredients

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories contains lactic acid and prebiotics listed above, which definitely have some key health benefits for the vaginal area. However, users should be aware that there are some inactive ingredeints that some consumer advocacy groups may take issue with.

This product contains methylparaben, a preservative you’ll find in a number of cosmetics, which have been liked to health issues like eye and skin damage, as well as breast cancer. It’s not yet known how powerful the link between methylparaben and breast cancer is, but it is thought to exacerbate the growth of tumors.

PEGs on the other hand, have less of a reputation in the health and wellness scene, but some consumer health groups have expressed concerns due to the ingredient’s ethylene oxide content. Ethylene oxide was used in nerve gases used in the first World War and has been linked to leukemia and other cancers.

We’re not entirely sure whether VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories carries any significant risk to consumers, but users should be aware of the contents of this product before using. Even though it’s a suppository, inserted into the vagina, rather than taken orally, the body still absorbs the contents of the product.

The Price and Quality of VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories is sold on the official product webpage, but users can find this on the parent company’s site, shop.lakeconsumer.com for $6.99 for a box containing six suppositories.

The official product website offers $2 off per box by using a downloadable coupon for use in stores. Users can find this product at a number of popular stores like Albertson’s, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target and more.

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories is also sold on Amazon for $6.99, though you can save a bit if you decide to subscribe and save.

It seems as though this product is relatively affordable, which may be a significant selling point for users looking for freshness at a low price. However, we’re not sure this product provides any meaningful benefits — beyond potentially clearing up embarrassing odors. It doesn’t cure BV or yeast infections and it doesn’t seem to provide a long lasting moisturizing effect on vaginal cells either.

Business of VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories is made and sold by a company known as Lake Consumer Products. Here’s a bit of background information on the people behind this product:

Email:  [email protected]

Phone:  800-558-6614

Address: 1 Pharmacal Way

Jackson, WI 53037

Lake Consumer Products is a subsidiary of the Wisconsin Pharmacal Company, which has been in place since 1896. Lake Consumer Products specializes specifically in over-the-counter health products, which are distributed across multiple large national grocery stores and pharmacy chains.

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories does have a dedicated website, which operates outside of the Lake Consumer Products site. The VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories site looks nice, but hardly offers a product description that goes beyond laying out some selling points without explaining the science behind the product.

While we wish there was more information about prebiotics and the importance of balancing the vagina’s pH, this company does do a good job explaining things like how often the product should be used, whether it can be used during menstruation and so on.

Customer Opinions of VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories is widely available for purchase through several different channels, so there’s no shortage of feedback for consumers looking to learn more from first-hand experiences. Here’s a look at what people had to say after using this product:

“This product is an essential part of my bathroom lineup. Great for keeping things fresh down there or in case of any changes in odor or whatever. I always have these on hand. They’re cheap, so why not?”

“I like these suppositories, they do work, but be warned — you might have to keep taking them. Every time I stop, my infection comes back. Luckily they’re not too expensive, but would rather be done with it.”

“Struggled with BV for as long as I can remember and have tried every kind of product there is; probiotics, suppositories, antibiotics. This product fights off BV at the first sign. I always keep these around just in case”

“VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories are a life saver. Had BV forever and tried everything — my BV had such a bad odor it was bothering my husband and I was concerned others would take notice.”

VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories doesn’t ever say on the website this product is a cure for bacterial vaginosis (BV), but many of the users reported this was super effective for those who had chronic infections.

Most users had a positive experience with this product, so it’s likely effective, but we didn’t get a sense of who the main demographic is. The site claims this product may be effective for menopausal women, though we didn’t see any reviews from women who mentioned whether they were in menopause or nowhere near it.

That being said, many women get frequent BV outbreaks during menopause and could benefit from a product that could stave off any infections or at the very least, get rid of the vaginal odor that many women experience during this stage in life.

Conclusion – Does VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories Work?

Based on the reviews we read regarding the efficacy of VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories, we’re not sure we’d recommend this for most menopausal users, though it’s clearly a valuable health tool for many people who have dealt with chronic BV, odor or other vaginal concerns.

Most of the reviews we came across suggested that VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories is effective and did not cause any adverse effects. It’s affordable, widely available and seems to help nip burgeoning BV infections in the bud.

But, we’re not sure we totally approve of the ingredient profile of VH Essentials Prebiotic Vaginal Suppositories. This product contains parabens and PEGs, which may be linked to some serious conditions like certain cancers like breast cancer or leukemia.

In conclusion, it’s easy to see why this might be a good product for women of all ages with ongoing vaginal issues, and perhaps, the link to any potential diseases pales in comparison to being able to eliminate embarrassing odors or discomfort.

On the other hand, we do feel that consumers should be aware of what they are putting in their bodies, and from there, weigh the pros and cons.

After reviewing every type of menopause product, we’ve learned Femmetrinol is the best product for helping alleviate major menopausal issues. Botanicals such as wild yam, damiana and black cohosh help bring balance to the body, reducing instances of hot flashes and night sweats, as well as the emotional effects of this life transition.

Femmetrinol is made from a blend of safe and effective herbal ingredients, all clinically tested in an FDA certified lab. Click here to learn how Femmetrinol can help you take control of your symptoms.

Christy says:

I loooove this product! Ever since going menopausal I have had vaginal dryness and very strong odor. So glad I found these! My doctor now recommends them to his other patients. I use one suppository before bed (and wear a pad) about 3-5x a week. It works quickly and has got rid of some horrible odor that even my doctor and modern medicine could not fix. I wouldn’t be without them!
