Lux Derma Eye Cream Ingredients and Side Effects

We found the ingredient list for Lux Derma Eye Cream posted on a blog, so keep in mind that this list may not be entirely accurate. While it would be nice to get a full ingredient label from the company themselves, here’s a look at what we believe is present in this particular blend:

Retinol Vitamin E
Niacinamide

Retinol: Retinol is a form of vitamin A used in a number of skincare applications, from acne care to erasing wrinkles and evening out skin tone. Retinol promotes cell turnover, which gives the skin a younger, improved appearance.

Niacinamide:
Niacinamide is a type of vitamin B3. It is used to help treat uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, dullness and fine lines. This ingredient works by building compounds of cholesterol and fatty acids, which help strengthen the skin.

Vitamin E:
A fat soluble vitamin, this ingredient both moisturizes and functions as an antioxidant that helps block free radical damage, keeping skin looking youthful by reducing wrinkles and fine lines.

Lux Derma Eye Cream Quality of Ingredients

Lux Derma Eye Cream could truly contain anything. As mentioned above, the list of ingredients we’ve found was posted on a blog with no image of an official label.

If it does really contain retinol and vitamin E, then perhaps there are some benefits associated with this cream. But, this list of three active ingredients seems a bit short—as though there are some important elements missing from the blend.

In short, it makes little sense to review the ingredients, as this company (Coal Cosmetics) is known for being deceptive—operating a fine print marketing scheme designed to keep people on the hook for expensive products.

Eliminate dark circles for good. Here’s a look at the best eye creams for treating tired eyes, hyperpigmentation, and more.

EDITOR’S TIP: Combine this product with a proven eye cream such as Kremovage for better results.

The Price and Quality of Lux Derma Eye Cream

Lux Derma Eye Cream is available through a free trial offer, found on a few different websites designed to promote this product. Unfortunately, consumers will not be able to find this product for sale through a traditional e-commerce model—instead, when the free trial comes to an end, users are enrolled in an automatic monthly billing cycle.

We’re not sure what the official monthly cost to consumers is, but some past users have reported the amount is close to $100 for a bottle containing about 0.5 ounces of product.

Users are expected to cancel within 14 days, should they not be satisfied with the product, otherwise it just keeps coming. Many people have complained about this practice, claiming that they were unaware of any agreement. Yes, there is fine print, but it’s really easy to miss—and the company that makes this product knows it.

Sure, this process may technically be legal, but it’s still deceptive—preying on consumers who get sucked into a product that sounds too good to be true.

What’s more is, $100 is a lot for a product you can’t learn anything about. We don’t know if the product descriptions are accurate, or if there are ingredients present that consumers may object to.

Business of Lux Derma Eye Serum

Lux Derma Eye Serum has multiple websites, but none list a company name or any information that gives us a clue how to get in touch with someone.

But, we’ve seen information pointing to a company called Coal Cosmetics, a CA-based manufacturer that has been linked to a number of free trial schemes. Here is the background information we found courtesy of a disgruntled consumer:

Phone: 800-958-5410

Address: 5404 Whitsett Ave # 128
Valley Village, CA 91607-1615

Coal Cosmetics is linked to several complaints spanning a wide range of products. This company has tricked consumers into signing up for free trial offers—relying on fine print traps to get consumers to pay $80-100 on a monthly basis.

Lux Derma Eye Serum and many other products that follow this business model are not exactly created with the customer’s best interests in mind. These products come with a vague description of ingredients, like antioxidants and peptides, along with claims that the product is better than Botox and will restore your youthful appearance in just a matter of weeks.

Coal Cosmetics and the Lux Derma sub-brand both have numerous complaints against them on the Better Business Bureau website, all echoing the same frustrations—trapped in a monthly billing cycle, unresponsive customer service reps and more.

Here are some examples of the feedback we encountered:

“Saw an ad for free samples in exchange for a $4.95 shipping fee. Two weeks later, I’m charged $89 for a product I didn’t order. The rep says their system only allows discounts and they can’t give me a refund.”

“Received Lux Derma after ordering samples of another product. A couple weeks later was charged for both products and was only granted a 35% refund after complaining.”

“Cancelled free trial within the two-week timeframe and still was charged. Product arrived with no return address and I couldn’t figure out how to return it. Customer service hung up on me.”

The comments go on like this for several pages. Clearly Coal Cosmetics is operating a morally questionable marketing scheme and consumers should avoid getting involved with this company.

Customer Opinions of Lux Derma Eye Serum

Lux Derma Eye Serum was created to prey on consumers. There are no documented benefits associated with its use, only complaints about the terrible business practices of Coal Cosmetics.

It’s pretty telling that there are no reviews posted on the web regarding the ingredients or quality of the serum, but pages and pages of complaints regarding abuse on the part of this company.

With that in mind, we believe that this product is not worth the trouble of dealing with customer service reps that reportedly offer discounted rates on payments, rather than refunds. Unhappy consumers are forced to deal with an uncooperative company—losing money and time in the process.

We don’t know if this product contains active ingredients at all—nor does it matter. Consumers are on the hook for a product that doesn’t work—and even if it does—is likely not worth the $90 monthly payments.

Conclusion – Does Lux Derma Eye Serum Work?

Lux Derma Eye Serum unfortunately, is a scam, plain and simple. Coal Cosmetics has made it their business to prey on consumers who fall for their marketing language or who misread the fine print.

Our advice to consumers is, stay far away from any product that doesn’t offer a clear pricing structure, an ingredient label or a platform where reviewers can share their thoughts on a particular product. In the case of Lux Derma Eye Serum, there were many mentions across the web from people who got caught in an ongoing payment cycle, but none mentioned the quality of the product.

If a well-known product has no recorded reviews of how it felt on the skin, whether it reduced the appearance of wrinkles and dark circles or anything else it claims to do, it’s safe to assume it’s not very good.

Lux Derma Eye Serum exists for the sheer purpose of taking advantage of people. It’s a good idea to keep looking for a product that has reviews posted by real people, preferably one made by a real company with a proven track record.

Kremovage is our favorite eye cream for a number of reasons. This cream contains several plant extracts–from cucumber to green tea–that rejuvenate and protect cells. It also features potent antiaging elements, ocean-based retinol, squalane, and a blend of peptides–each with their own role in helping you look younger.

Kremovage was designed to improve the appearance of users looking for an under eye solution that actually works. Tested in a certified lab, this product is sure to exceed consumer expectations. Click here for the full ingredient list, along with the key benefits of using Kremovage.
