Redefine Eye Cream Ingredients and Side Effects

Redefine Eye Cream contains a variety of ingredients used to create a more awake, brilliant look. Here’s a look at the active components of this formula:

Mica Macadamia Oil Gingko Biloba
Peptides Caffeine Honey

Mica: Mica is a mineral that is often used in skin care or cosmetics due to its shimmering effect. In eye creams, for example, it works to offset the appearance of under eye circles.

In some cases, mica may irritate the eyes.

Peptides: Peptides work to penetrate the top layer of the skin, sending a signal to skin cells to produce more collagen. An increase in collagen production works to smooth wrinkles and firm up skin, creating a more youthful appearance.

Macadamia Oil: Macadamia oil is lightweight and easily absorbed by the skin. Rich in omega-9s, this ingredient has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin—reducing puffiness and adding moisture.

Caffeine: Caffeine constricts the blood vessels around the eye to reduce redness. It’s a good ingredient for people with rosacea or sensitive skin. It aids in circulation and helps reduce excess fluid in the skin, making it a powerful tool in treating puffy eyes.

Honey: Honey works to protect the skin against environmental damage due to its high antioxidant content. It also hydrates the skin, helping maintain moisture and elasticity.

Gingko Biloba: Gingko biloba is known for its antioxidants and antiaging potential. Gingko is thought to prevent and treat fine lines and wrinkles with use.

Redefine Eye Cream Quality of Ingredients

Redefine Eye Cream contains some good stuff. Caffeine is known for its ability to minimize puffiness around the eyes—showing that its ability to induce wakefulness works on a topical level, too.

Peptides of course are a critical component of many eye creams—providing many of the same benefits as the collagen-producing retinols, minus the potential for redness and irritation.

Based on our look at the ingredient profile, it looks like this product has some potential to reduce fine lines and help users look more awake.

Those with sensitive skin may find the presence of mica and titanium dioxide slightly irritating, but the rest of the formula—macadamia oil, peptides, etc. may offset the risk of a bad reaction.

Also, this product may not be the best choice for those consumers committed to keeping a clean ingredient profile. This product does contain polyurethane—an ingredient with a low hazard risk according to the EWG.

The Price and Quality of Redefine Eye Cream

Redefine Eye Cream is sold directly from the Rodan + Fields, at $62 per 0.5 oz. container. Preferred customers can subscribe and save 10% on all orders, but it’s worth mentioning, sales are not open to the general public.

The Rodan + Fields website functions as a way for the company’s consultants to replenish their supplies. Potential consumers who are not consultants must have a consultant provide them with a code to pass along savings.

Aside from finding a consultant, Redefine Eye Cream may be purchased from Amazon and eBay by third-party sellers. We’ve found that on average, this product goes for around $70 per jar.

Rodan + Fields’ business model is set up to encourage the use of a consultant to place an order. The company does not authorize sales through channels like Amazon, but it can be tricky to regulate online sales.

Overall, this product seems a bit overpriced, and dealing with a consultant may prove to be more trouble than it’s worth.

Additionally, buying from Amazon may come with some risks. Many of the comments posted online suggested that there’s been a problem with fake products making the rounds on the platform.

Redefine Eye Cream is part of a larger line of anti-aging products made by Rodan + Fields. Rodan + Fields is kind of a modern update on the Avon lady or the Mary Kay sales rep—the company relies on independent consultants to sell their wares, often on Facebook and Instagram.

Potential shoppers can buy the products through the Rodan + Fields website, but must first be referred by a consultant who provides a code.

Consultants are part of a multilevel marketing program and not only sell products to friends, acquaintances and more, but recruit others to join the team. The system operates in the same manner as their predecessors—Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc.—offering trips, cars and other incentives to encourage sales.

The Rodan + Fields product line was developed by two doctors, who first developed the line of Proactiv acne products.

Overall, the company seems legitimate—especially when considering the fact that this brand is part of a multilevel marketing program.

It’s hard to get a good sense of whether consumers are getting a good value. There’s not much to

Redefine Eye Cream, or any of the other products in this skin care line—the formulas look pretty good, but seem a bit overpriced.

That said, the seemingly high rates may contribute to supporting this company’s large independent sales force.

Customer Opinions of Redefine Eye Cream

Redefine Eye Cream had mixed reviews. Many people mentioned this did have some positive effects, but we didn’t see any comments that suggested people were seeing these dramatic results with use.

Here’s a look at some of the comments people left online:

“What’s great about this product is that it goes on smooth and doesn’t irritate skin and it’s not greasy. Really nice stuff!”

“I’m quite pleased with this product. Been using this for about two years and have seen some great results. I know it’s a little bit spendy, but I feel like its worth the cost.”

“I don’t think this product is better than anything else available on the market. I can’t really say much about it, I’m in my 50s and have some deep wrinkles. Maybe it’s better for younger people.”

“This is great. I have such sensitive skin and this has been a real godsend. It moisturizes, removes lines and doesn’t cause breakouts. Just fantastic.”

Reviews were all over the place, but it seems that people either loved the product or hated it. A lot of the negative comments were directed at Amazon sellers who may not be legitimate Rodan + Fields consultants.

Additionally, many of the reviewers mentioned those product was great for dealing with puffy or tired eyes. It’s likely it’s just not the antiaging product it claims to be.

Conclusion – Does Redefine Eye Cream Work?

Redefine Eye Cream seems like a decent product. The ingredient profile contains some potent ingredients, but we’re not sure we can fully endorse this product.

For one, the business model may be a deterrent for some potential customers. It doesn’t appear to be a scam, and the founders of Rodan + Fields do have a great deal of expertise in the skincare space. But, we can imagine dealing with high-pressure consultants may not appeal to someone who just wants to order an eye cream and be done with it.

Though purely anecdotal, there are several articles circulating about this company and their consultants—often customers are recruited to be consultants themselves or pressured into buying a whole line of skincare products for best results.

Second, this product isn’t cheap. The price listed on the website is $62, but that’s the wholesale price, so end consumers can expect to pay more.

The formula does not justify the high costs, either. While we’ve come across many peptide-heavy creams, there are several options far more affordable than this one.

Redefine Eye Cream might work for some people, but our takeaway is, there are likely better products out there—ones that can be purchased in a more straightforward manner.

Kremovage, no doubt, is our top pick for eye creams that take on the signs of aging. This product is rich in antioxidants, hydrates and plumps skin, while reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and puffy eyes.

Kremovage was formulated in a certified lab. From end to end, this product has been tested for quality, safety and satisfaction—ensuring consumers get the best antiaging product each time they place an order. Click this link to order Kremovage—and start looking younger ASAP.

One Response to Redefine Eye Cream Review

KJohnson says:

I bought this product with high expectations. The first night I tried it, I woke up with swollen, red eyes and my eyes were burning and itching all the next day. I have really dry eyes so this product is a no go for me. There is nothing on the website warning you about this possibility so I am pretty bummed. I now will no longer buy anything that goes on or around my eye areas.
