Complexion MD Ingredients and Side Effects

Key ingredients in Complexion MD:

Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 Palmitoyl Pentapeptide Palmitoyl Oligopeptide
Glycerin Hyaluronic Acid Retinyl Palmitate
Shea Butter Aloe Vera Vitamin C

Acetyl Hexapeptide-3: More commonly known as Argireline, this peptide compound is used in anti-aging products to reduce the facial contractions that lead to fine lines and wrinkles.  Some studies have suggested that over time, it can break down the muscle tissue that naturally firms the skin, causing skin to sag.

Palmitoyl Pentapeptide: Also known as Matrixyl, this anti-aging ingredient promotes collagen production and skin healing.  Studies have shown it to provide more long-term results than many other commonly used anti-aging ingredients.

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide: A fragment of collagen, this chain of amino acids can help to promote the production of healthy collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid, and glycosaminoglycans, resulting in smoother, more radiant skin.

Glycerin: A natural humectant that can either be derived from plant oils or synthetically made.  Draws water from the air into the skin, and forms a protective layer over skin to lock in the moisture.

Hyaluronic Acid: A natural glycosaminoglycan with exceptional skin moisturizing and healing abilities.  It fills gaps between collagen and elastin, replaces lost moisture, and hydrates the skin.

Retinyl Palmitate: A combination of retinol (Vitamin A) and the naturally occurring palmitic fatty acid, it is used in skin care as an antioxidant with restorative and healing properties.

Shea Butter: Moisturizer extracted from the nut of the shea tree, this triglyceride resembles the chemistry and structure of skin’s natural lipids, helping shore up the natural protective barrier of the skin.  It also helps promote healing and soothing.

Aloe Vera Extract: Aloe vera has been long known for its nutrient-rich source of hydration.  It soothes skin and contains the potent antioxidant power of Vitamins A, C, and E to help protect skin from damage.

Vitamin C: Also known as Ascorbic Acid, this powerful antioxidant aids in the neutralization of free radicals and helps protect against oxidative stress.

Complexion MD Quality of Ingredients

Only the active ingredients are listed on the Complexion MD product page, which should be a concern to anyone interested in the quality of their skin care products and what nutrients they provide.

The formula includes several ingredients that are proven to treat underlying causes of premature aging.  There are also powerful antioxidants and natural emollients that will help moisturize, promote cell regeneration, and protect the skin from sun damage and other environmental factors.

Without a full list, however, it is impossible for consumers to determine how it will work for their individual skin type.

Another concern is that some ingredients may not perform as well as the product claims. The initial benefits of Argireline, for example, may encourage users to keep using it, but there is some research suggesting that prolonged use may have reverse effects.  Over time, it can actually start to destroy the muscle tissue that naturally provides firmness, causing skin to lose its elasticity and sag.

Inactive ingredients include silicone-based substances that serve as emollients, humectants, and texture enhancers.  While most are harmless, synthetic humectants moisturize only the surface of the skin.  They are unable to attract moisture like natural humectants do, so they cannot hydrate to the deeper layers.  It moisturizes instantly, but over time it can lead to drier skin.

Complexion MD claims it is ideal for all skin types, but not all skin types react the same way to certain ingredients.  Before using this or any skin care product, one should always check with a specialist to discuss the possible risks associated with your skin care regimen.

The Price and Quality of Complexion MD

Complexion MD is very expensive compared to other products with similar ingredients.  The cost for a single 1-ounce jar is $99.95 plus $7.95 shipping.

There are bulk packages available for savings up to 20%, but they are still very expensive.  Bulk purchases also require enrollment into the replenishment service.  Unless users already know what they are getting, several hundred dollars is a huge commitment.

A free trial is offered for users who would like to try it before buying, however, a credit card must be provided to cover the shipping charges.  Once the trial is over after a period of 15 days, the discounted cost of $89.95 will be charged to the credit card on file.

Customers should pay attention to the small print to avoid unwanted charges, as they are also automatically enrolled into the replenishment service until it is canceled.  The responsibility to cancel is on the customer.

There are no clinical trials available, and there is very limited information on the formula and how it works.  It contains some proven anti-aging ingredients, but the long-term effects are unknown.

Taking all of these concerns into consideration, along with the lack of a full ingredient list, there is no way to be sure consumers are getting full value.

There are many complaints, however, about the Complexion MD brand.  Among the biggest disappointments cited by customers:

  • Deceptive marketing practices.
  • Expensive products that do not work.
  • The infamous “free trial.”
  • Unauthorized charges.
  • Rude or unresponsive customer service.

Like many other online skin care companies, a free trial is offered.  Customers are not required to sign up for the trial to purchase products, though many have complained that the terms were unclear, causing them to inadvertently enroll into the trial as well as the replenishment service.

Customer Opinions of Complexion MD

Until you try a product for yourself, you won’t know how it works for your individual skin type.  Fortunately, there are online reviews available for consumers to make informed decisions.  The online customer reviews of Complexion MD are generally negative.

“This is the second time I’ve fallen for this trick.  This site was a little more professional and informative, so I thought it was legit.  Nope.  Don’t be like me.”

“I bought it all, hook, line, and sinker.  I am still kicking myself.  I wish I hadn’t, but since I did, I just wish it WORKED.”

“For what it is, it’s fine.  Nothing can vanish wrinkles, which is what people expect, I think.  This cream is no miracle, but it does make my skin very smooth.”

The results of any skin care product depend on individual skin type, allergies, proper application, and many other contributing factors. Please be aware of this when researching skin care products based on customer opinions.

Conclusion – Does Complexion MD Work?

Complexion MD claims its clinically-proven formula begins working within seconds of application, penetrating deep into the skin and healing at the cellular level.  The cream promises to stimulate cell renewal and boost natural collagen production to firm, lift, and revitalize skin, making users look decades younger.

There is not enough evidence, however, to prove it performs as advertised, and the vague formulation details as well as the lack of a full ingredient list is a letdown to consumers.  For such an expensive product, legitimate clinical results, a comprehensive list of ingredients, and a truly risk-free trial would prove its value more than deceptive sales tactics.

Our expert reviewers researched and compared many proven age-defying products and agree: Kremotex is the best overall.

Its fast-acting ingredients boost collagen production, and essential antioxidants and vitamins promote cell regeneration, reversing the effects of aging and skin damage.  Many positive testimonials on their website, along with amazing before and after transformation photos show why Kremotex was voted the best anti-aging cream of 2024.

Susie Crabtree says:

In checking my bank statements, I have been charged $1.95, $4.95 and $89.95 for a cream. I’ve never ordered a cream from this company nor did I receive anything. Due to a chemical burn on my face, I cannot use facial creams. They burn and cause pain. I use a wash and toner prescribed by my doctor. I called the company today to find out what is going on. Rude. Supervisor not at her desk. They claim I ordered it and it was delivered. Refuse to refund money. I have called my credit union and they are checking it out. Will also contact post office. Will file a complaint with FL officials and Federal Trade Commission. I would avoid this company. Sounds like they are thieves.

Gaspard Kanyemera says:

I want to buy complexion MD, but if it doesn’t take off wrinkles, let me know; due to save money and to look for another efficiency product.

Pat lane says:

I tried the fee trial. The wording of the offer was very deceptive. Now I am stuck with a hefty $90 charge on my credit card. I have tried calling to complain but they were not very helpful. I feel like I have been conned. And I don’t even like the product. Totally devious company.

Irene says:

This is a scam! Do not agree to the free trial! It is not free, they take your credit card for shipping and charge you 89.95 15 days later. The trial is free for 15 days but they send you a 30 day supply of product, you will be charged unless you send it back, and you have to pay to ship it back! Total SCAM!!!

Debbie Tate says:

I ordered the complexion MD and my aquallure. I called 13 days before my trial ended they agreed to cancel my order and that I would not be billed any other charges. It wasn’t but a few hours later they charged me for items I didn’t even get and now they don’t want to refund my money. I have turned them over to my bank as fraud and I am contacting the Better Business Bureau this is not the way you do business it’s specially when I have emails confirming that I would not be charged. I do not understand why I got charged the 89.99 when I haven’t received any product other than the trial size. Buyer beware

Vanelle Wilson says:

I was sucked in as well. This product is worthless to the consumer but a money maker for the company. You can get this at Amazon for 29.95 if you insist on trying it. Don’t fall for the free trial scam or you will see a 89.95 charge to your card. They are very hard to contact as well.

Carol Rajala says:

Cant believe I fell for this one – I even looked for verbiage that stated a charge (other than the trial shipping fee) would be applied to my credit card and/or other shipments would automatically applied to my credit care!
Have they been reported to the BBB???
On return, a stocking fee of $10 as well as the postage to send to me and to send back is deducted from refund.
UCK.

Anonymous says:

This is a HUGE scam they say free trail then less than one month later I was charged 89.95 without my consent and will not give you your money back they offered me a 50% refund plus restocking fee in essence you won’t get your money back at all don’t be like me and a lot of other people I’ve read on the internet and get ripped off oh yea it doesn’t get rid of your wrinkles also BIG SCAM!!!!

Antonie Slikker says:

Yes, thank you. I just received the $99.00 packet of Complexion MD. I have not opened a box yet. I see in the comparibles of several creams, which you offered that there is a “money back guarantee” on the Complexion MD. However, I do not see this guarantee on my receipt! If I want to send it back, will they take my call, I wonder? So I ask you instead. Then I would be able to invest in the Kremotex and have peace of mind!!! Thank you for responding AND the review!!!!
