What is it?

Perricone MD is a full range of anti-aging skin care products designed as non-invasive solutions to the effects of aging, and said to be suitable for all skin types.  The many products claim to dramatically reduce fine lines and wrinkles, firm and lift skin, balance uneven skin tone, reduce pore size, and smooth skin imperfections.

The developer of Perricone MD, Dr. Nicholas Perricone, has many patents for his unique formulas, and they all center around his belief that the signs of aging are caused and accelerated by inflammation. He has written several books on the subject, and created his skin care lines based on this theory.  All his formulas promise to deliver personalized results for every skin type.

Our team of review experts have researched and tested many different anti-aging skin treatments, and have named Kremotex as the best option.  All-natural and made with apple stem cells, shea butter, and other natural ingredients at the forefront of anti-aging science, users are praising its immediate and dramatic results.

Perricone MD Ingredients and Side Effects

Active ingredients in several Perricone MD products believed to provide anti-aging benefits:

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide 3 Dimethyl MEA (DMAE) Acetyl Hexapeptide 8 Dimethicone
Alpha Lipoic Acid Eggshell Membrane Salmon Egg Enzyme Copper

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide 3: Synthetic peptide that suppresses production of interleukins, the chemical messengers responsible for triggering inflammatory response.

Dimethyl MEA (DMAE): An amine believed to contain anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties, and also used to adjust the pH balance in some products.

Acetyl Hexapeptide 8: Synthetic peptide compound used to reduce the facial contractions that lead to fine lines and wrinkles.

Dimethicone: Silicone based, organic polymer that forms a barrier on the skin, sealing in moisture. It is also easily spreadable, and leaves skin silky and smooth to the touch.

Alpha Lipoic Acid: Natural fatty acid and antioxidant said to refine the texture of the skin, minimize fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce enlarged pores.

Eggshell Membrane: Extracted from unfertilized eggs, the eggshell contains an ideal matrix of nutrients to nourish and rejuvenate the skin.

Salmon Egg Enzyme: Exfoliates skin without abrasion. Also helps brighten the skin around the eyes, reducing puffiness.

Copper: Said to promote healing and natural radiance.

Perricone MD Quality of Ingredients

Perricone MD lists all its ingredients on the website, which is good news for those who take an active interest in the products they apply to their skin.  All the proprietary formulas combine many natural and synthetic ingredients linked to anti-aging science.  As an alternative to painful and expensive surgical procedures, Perricone MD may be the ideal product for consumers interested in fighting the visible effects of aging.

There are concerns, however, about some of the ingredients, and they should be considered before committing to purchase, as all products have very high price points.  Despite claims that Perricone MD is ideal for all skin types, not all skin types react the same way to certain ingredients:

“Within hours of applying, I was itchy all over the application area.  By the next day, I had little blisters spread all over my neck and face.”

Additionally, some ingredients may not perform as well as the product claims. The ingredient Dimethyl MAE (DMAE), for example, has produced conflicting results.  Its initial inflammatory benefits encourage customers to keep using it, but some research suggests that prolonged use may have reverse effects.  Over time, DMAE can actually start to destroy skin cells that promote healthy collagen production.

Before using Perricone MD, or any skin care product, one should always check with a specialist to discuss the possible risks associated with the ingredients.

The Price and Quality of Perricone MD

The products under the Perricone MD brand are not cheap.  The cost and quantity of product varies, but consumers should expect to pay between $50-$75 for 1-2 ounces of product.  Depending on frequency of use, this amount can last up to 2 months.

There were mixed customer opinions regarding the value.  Many thought it worked fine, but did not see any dramatic changes:

“I didn’t see any difference in my skin. It didn’t give me a rash, but it’s definitely not the miracle product they claim.  At the price I paid, it should be.”

Another customer gave Perricone MD many opportunities to satisfy their skin care needs, but simply did not feel any product offered was worth the cost:

“I have tried almost every Perricone product, hoping to find the perfect fit for my oily skin. None worked half as well as my $23 moisturizer.”

Business of Perricone MD

The manufacturer of Perricone MD is NV Perricone LLC.  Their contact info is:

Phone:   1-888-823-7837

Address:  NV Perricone LLC

600 Montgomery St, Suite 2500

San Francisco, CA 94111

Email:    [email protected]

There are over 70 documented complaints against NV Perricone LLC through the Better Business Bureau and other watchdog sites. Like many other skin care companies, their “replenishment service” is the reason for many of the customer complaints.  Unlike some companies, however, you must select this option when you place the order, rather than missing the terms in fine print and inadvertently subscribing to the service.

Still, some customers have had negative experiences with the service, and then again with customer service when trying to correct their issues:

“They very clearly have no intention of improving the refund/return process. They just want to keep sending useless products and billing customers for it.”

“They misrepresented themselves and their product and charged my card WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION.”

“I canceled this product subscription several times. After repeatedly calling and speaking to rude customer service reps, they indicated to me the only way to stop the collections process is to pay up.”

 Customer Opinions of Perricone MD

The customer reviews of Perricone MD range from nothing but positive to not at all satisfied.  Many negative customer opinions stem from their complicated returns process, misleading advertising, and poor customer service, but most negative opinions state that the product simply does not do what it promises, and it is not worth the high price.

Not all skin care products perform the same for all skin, so until you try it for yourself, you won’t know how it works for you and your individual skin type.  Fortunately, there are online reviews available, allowing consumers to make informed decisions.

Perricone MD is the best out there according to some customers who believe the products are worth every penny:

“Perricone MD products are the best I have ever used. I’ve been using them for over a year and see incredible differences.  I love it and hope they make it forever.”

“I don’t know if these products work everybody, and I know they are not cheap, but they have worked for my skin when nothing else has.”

But for every positive review, it seems there was a negative review to counter.  A common issue for many was the smell, which was bad enough to turn many users off the Cold Plasma line:

“I used this Perricone cream and the smell made me gag. It did not work at all, aside from activating my gag reflex. I will never buy this cream or this brand again.”

“I tried using this product three times and just couldn’t keep going beyond that. My face smelled like a dead fish.”

It is no wonder the reviews for Perricone MD are mixed, since the efficacy of any skin care product depends on individual skin type, allergies, proper application, and many other contributing factors.

Conclusion – Does Perricone MD Work?

Not only does Perricone MD promise to address all 10 signs of aging, it also claims science-backed research and precise technology for individualized results.  Until the alleged results of “5 years of research” is published, however, or at least made publicly available in summarized form, our review experts cannot recommend Perricone MD products.

Perricone MD without a doubt works wonders for many pleased customers, but the negative and neutral reviews cannot be ignored.  Any anti-aging treatment should be viewed as an investment, and investing in unproven products is unwise.

Our expert reviewers researched and compared many age-defying products and agree: Kremotex is the best overall.

Its fast-acting ingredients boost collagen production, and essential antioxidants and vitamins promote cell regeneration, reversing the effects of aging and skin damage.  Many positive testimonials on their website, along with amazing before and after transformation photos show why Kremotex was voted the best anti-aging cream of 2024.

I saw the ad on TV and thought I’d try it. It was, of course, a very expensive gimmick. They said they’d give me a 30 day supply for around $50, then ship me a 90 day supply for $150, averaging out to be about $50 per month. Well, the 30 day supply arrived and I didn’t love or hate the product, so I thought I’d go ahead with the 90 day supply to see if I could see more results if I used it longer. So 35 days after my 1st initial call, I got my 2nd package, and the bottles were twice the size of the 30 days supply. So I really only got a 60 day supply, not a 90 day supply, but I was charged for a 90 day supply. I called to complain, and as was the case when I initially called and when I tried to cancel after the first 30 days and got talked into trying the 90 day subscription, I spoke with a representative I could BARELY understand. I told her my issue with being charged more for less, and it’s like she couldn’t grasp the concept. I was then on the phone 12 minutes repeating to her over and over that I would like to cancel. In doing so, my credit card was charged the full $150 for my “90 day supply” that was only twice as large as a 30 day supply. Biggest rip off ever. I get better ‘results’ from crap you can buy at walmart. The face cream dried out my face and the neck cream had a weird texture, like lose green stools, and it turns to rubber on your face so if you rub your neck after, like with a make-up powder puff thing, the cream will leave little things behind like rubber cement. I won’t be able to cancel my subscription until I receive an email in 24-48 hours and answer that. Considering I repeated the spelling of my first and last name no less than 5 times and they still got it wrong, I’m guessing I won’t get the email and will have to spend another 15 minutes on the phone asking for it, and I’m also guessing this problem will continue until I’ve at least been billed another $150 for my next 90 day supply.

Very similar thing happened to me — I thought I was buying a 49.95 jar of stuff and the woman on the phone was very hard to understand as she kept asking me to say “yes” to more and more money. I received the box and wanted to return the entire thing untouched but after after two calls to cancel an order that turned out to actually be a subscription I still have receive no email plus the return address the text on the front of the invoice said to use was different from the return address given to me on the second call.

Michelle petts says:

This product literally STINKS TERRIBLE OF FISH!! I think that it does not deliver on its promise of youthful skin I used it for several months holding out hope that I would see drastic results- not!
I would rather see a dermatologist and pay for Botox or Juvederm at least then I can see the dramatic results that Perricone claims it does. Spend your money wisely and avoid this skin care regimen. I was even told that they changed the formulation, I am sending my unused purchase back to the manufacturer.

Mary Trainor says:

I totally agree with their poor customer service. I was trying to resolve an issue in which I returned the product within the stated 60 days. I continued to get billed for it. The customer service supervisor said the only way to stop the harassement was to pay the balance due. I told her that I had returned the product and she said it didn’t matter. Then she hung up on me. When I called back again to try to speak to someone, I was told I was on the list of people that customer service was not to speak to unless I was giving them a payment.
I am in the process of having the Attorney General of my state step in to resolve the issue. I have also contacted the credit bureaus to put a disclaimer on my reports so my credit is not damaged. All this over $39.00.

Debbie Witter says:

Absolute garbage. Used it for three months and it made no difference to lines and wrinkles. Really tired of products that don’t do what they claim. Waste of money.

zoe says:

I actually like perricone md. I also like its fish oil supplement. i bought its fish oil for my parents and recommended it to many friends. About the cream and treatment. I’ve used the finish moisturizer and overnight treatment. i can literally feel the cream is grabbing my skin to make it tightened. but i didn’t subscribe, i only bought it when i saw discount.

maria says:

I have been using perrricone products for 6 months with wonderful results! My skin felt great and I had people telling me my skin looked great! After 5 months of use my eyes started to itch and swell. I was hoping it was eye makeup I was using, laundry detergent I was using on my face cloths. I emailed perricone multiple times about my issues and concerns and they asked me to send them batch numbers, and told me the product might need time to work. Another month gone by continued use of perricone, my whole face itches and burn marks around my eyes. I haven’t used it in two weeks and, although the itching and burning have subsided, my wrinkles are worse then they were 6 months ago. I thought I had found a great product. I have been in touch with perricone in hopes of some kind of explanation.

Sharon Lewis says:

Purchased in January and now in April the eyelid lift is irritating my eyelids to the point of serious discomfort with redness and itching.

Helen Zaprzala says:

I ordered the trial for $50 and was charged $89, then I was automatically sent another month supply and charged $89 again. I called to complain that I never agreed to a subscription and they said they would cancel the next month and that I could return the product for a refund. Well I was just charged again $89. This is very unethical practice. I will be putting in a complaint with the BBB.

Canceled order but continued to ship! I called again and was told yes I had canceled but not on the date I had given. I ask for a printout of all the shipments and payments made but never received a response. They turned me over to a collection agency, I then ask them for a printout but they never responded. I do recommend to doing business with this company!
