Palmettoplex is a blend of natural ingredients that are designed to help impact the size and functionality of the prostate gland. The prostate swells as men age, leading many men to start experiencing urinary issues like overactive bladder, weak or inconsistent urine streams, and pain or discomfort in the prostate, pelvic floor, and genitalia.

Palmettoplex is also formulated to help regulate men’s hormone production and processing, which may have some benefits for sexual performance, immune function, and even skin and hair health. They also say that it can help men improve the health of the prostate in the long term by decreasing its rate of growth and potentially helping to prevent the formation of precancerous cells.

There are no prostate support supplements that our panel has reviewed that have performed better than Prostatrinex. It has the best ingredients selection that they have found, and it has received excellent feedback from both its former users and other professionals within the industry. How Does Palmettoplex Work?

Palmettoplex has a somewhat limited ingredients list. As their name implies, Palmettoplex is based primarily off of a large dose of saw palmetto, one of the most effective herbal ingredients for prostate health known to science. They use several different versions of the ingredients, including both a powdered version and an extract derived from their berries.

Saw palmetto berries are seldom eaten raw on their own, as they are not thought to have a pleasant taste, smell, or texture by most consumers. They are, however, rich in a number of very useful chemical compounds that can help to soothe prostate irritation, promote healthy urine function, and possibly even shrink or slow the growth of the prostate.

Saw palmetto contains a variety of plant-based phytosterols, including the potent beta-sitosterol, that have been shown to have a significant impact on urinary function. It also contains a variety of soothing and anti-inflammatory ingredients like fatty acids, antioxidants, and other basic core nutrients.

Other helpful additives in their mix include tomato powder and pygeum, both of which have also been shown to help slow the rate of prostate growth. They also feature stinging nettle in their proprietary blend, which may not impact the prostate directly but which is considered particularly helpful for stimulating healthy urinary function.

There is also an unlisted amount of bovine prostate extract included in Palmettoplex’s proprietary blend, which is not considered to be a particularly effective additive for prostate health and wellness. There is very little scientific study that has been dedicated to analyzing the effects of bovine prostate on human prostate function, although initial studies seem to show that it may be able to slightly increase the zinc concentrations in men’s prostates.

Zinc has been shown to be helpful for prostate health, wellness, and functionality, and so Palmettoplex also includes an additional 7.5mg of zinc in their blend. This is actually a relatively small ammount of zinc, as most effective prostate health supplements tend to include at least 4-5 times this quantity.

Other than zinc, Palmettoplex completely neglects all other essential trace elements, vitamins, and nutrients that are traditionally used to support core prostate health. Our panel of experts recommend that any prostate health supplement that they use contain at least a minimal dose of copper, selenium, vitamin B6, and vitamin E.

These are the fundamental nutrients that the prostate needs in order to function normally, and if they are neglected it can lead to irritation in the prostate and possibly help to accelerate prostate growth. The root of many men’s prostate issues stems from a lack of basic nutrition, which means that a product like Palmettoplex will not be able to provide them the support they need in order to improve their condition.

Potential Benefits of Palmettoplex

The lack of basic core nutrients mentioned above lowers the potential impact that Palmettoplex can have on any individual user. Men that have serious nutritional deficiencies at the root of their prostate issues may see no change, and all other users may not see either the full short-term or long-term impact that they expect.

That aside, their large dose of saw palmetto alone has the potential to at least improve the symptoms of many men’s prostate issues, if not actually shrinking the size of the prostate itself. These improvements could take the form of stronger, more consistent urine streams, more complete voiding of the bladder, and less pain and irritation in the prostate and its surrounding region.

Their minimal dose of zinc may also provide some slight long term benefits for reducing the risks of developing prostate cancer, however our experts would generally prefer to see more zinc in a prostate health product than the 7.5mg found in Palmettoplex.

Are There Side Effects of Palmettoplex?

The most concerning ingredient that is used in Palmettoplex is bovine prostate extract, which is not only questionably effective, but it has also not been shown to be reliably safe for human consumption. There is very little data about the safety and effectiveness of ingesting bovine prostate extracts in either the short or the long term.

One of the concerns that our team had about this is that consuming animal products, especially organ tissue, can potentially lead to contracting animal-borne illnesses from these substances. Mad cow disease is the best known and most concerning illness that could possibly be transmitted by consuming bovine byproducts, but they have also been potentially linked to hormone fluctuations, abnormal liver function tests, and decreased red blood cells, as well as more mild side effects like nausea, diarrhea, and flushing.

Our team of experts do not recommend any bovine byproducts for use in prostate health supplements, even bovine prostate extract. Beyond this, our team has very few worries about the safety of the ingredients in Palmettoplex, although it is always possible that any given user could experience mild negative reactions, including allergic responses. It is advised that people with specific food and medicinal sensitivities consult with their health care provider before beginning to take Palmettoplex.

How to Buy Palmettoplex

Palmettoplex is widely available in both physical stores across the United States and through a variety of dealers online. Here are the prices for Palmettoplex as quoted on Amazon.com:

  • 1, 150-count bottle (50-day supply) of Palmettoplex capsules: $89.76

This price is somewhat more expensive than the average prostate health supplement. It does not, however, use any ingredients that are considered expensive or rare other than the bovine prostate extracts. It is possible that that is the reason that Palmettoplex is more expensive than most other products of this nature, however it is difficult to say specifically.

Our Recommendation

Palmettoplex has several things about its ingredients blend that our team complemented, and there seems to be a reasonable chance that it can have some kind of impact on men’s prostate enlargement and prostate enlargement symptoms. They have a large dose of saw palmetto, which is further supported by tomato and pygeum bark extracts, that could help men reduce the frequency and the insistence of their urinary urges and improve the quality of their urinary performance.

It also completely neglects the vast majority of core nutrients like key vitamins and essential trace elements. There is no copper, selenium, vitamin B6 or vitamin E, and there is less than a quarter of the dosage of zinc that our team recommends.

That severely limits the usefulness of Palmettoplex, which may need to be supplemented with a secondary core health blend if users want to get the level of support that’s needed for optimal prostate functionality. Given that Palmettoplex is already one of the more expensive prostate health supplements on the market, this might make it too expensive for many users.

Ultimately, there are more effective prostate health products that do not cost as much as Palmettoplex and that do not include bovine prostate or other animal byproducts in their blends. Our team encourages our users to seek alternative options to Palmettoplex.

Prostatrinex is one of the brands that is more effective than Palmettoplex by nearly every metric. Our team of health and wellness experts encourages all of our readers that are looking for prostate relief to try it first to see if it can be beneficial for their needs.

Prostatrinex uses saw palmetto as their lead ingredient – as most effective over the counter prostate supplements do – however they also support it with the most powerful blend of secondary ingredients on the market today.
