What is it?

PureFem Probiotics is a vaginal suppository containing two strains of probiotics aimed at preventing yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis. This product is meant to be taken in 4-8 day cycles, in order to restore the balance of vaginal flora.

PureFem Probiotics is made from two strains of bacteria—which according to the makers of this product convert lactose into lactic acid in the vagina, changing the pH. The ovules work to create an acidic environment, one in which bad bacteria has a hard time surviving.

Femmetrinol is our favorite feminine support products. Rather than treating symptoms on a case-by-case basis, this product uses a blend of herbs to take on the full range of menopausal concerns from hot flashes to night sweats, as well as vaginal dryness that breeds infection. PureFem Probiotics Ingredients and Side Effects

PureFem Probiotics is made from a blend of just two bacterial strains. Both ingredients are known for their ability to help women maintain a healthy vaginal environment, and their direct entry by suppository may help hasten the process. Here’s a quick look inside the product:

Lactobacillus Rhamnosus   Lactobacillus Gasseri

Lactobacillus Rhamnosus: This strain of bacteria naturally exists inside the body, namely, in the stomach and intestines. R. rhamnosus is used to help treat a range of conditions, from diarrhea, bloating and gas to bacterial vaginosis, immune deficiency and vaginal odor, yeast infections and more.

Some people believe that lactobacillus rhamnosus may also be used to treat cold sores, UTIs and cold and flu symptoms, though more research is needed to confirm whether or not this is the case.

Lactobacillus Gasseri: A probiotic strain commonly found in human breast milk. L. gasseri is used thought to help improve weight loss efforts in obese or overweight adults by improving metabolism.

Like other probiotic strains, L. gasseri can treat diarrhea and digestive issues and may have a positive effect on allergies and asthma.

Additional benefits include lowered cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as increased immune function and reduced inflammation.

PureFem Probiotics Quality of Ingredients

PureFem Probiotics is made from just the two types of probiotics outlined above, as well as some inactive binding ingredients used to keep the ovules in place. This suppository has fairly positive reviews, though we did have to do a bit of digging to find them.

PureFem Probiotics are certain to deliver health benefits to just about anyone using them — bacterial vaginosis or not. These probiotics have a long list of health benefits associated with them, digestion, immune health, potential relief from seasonal allergies, the list goes on.

We don’t see any issues with this supplement, aside from the fact that it might not prevent future BV outbreaks in women who are currently going through menopause. In this case, infections are caused by dryness and changing pH—symptoms caused by a loss of hormones in the body.

The Price and Quality of PureFem Probiotics

PureFem Probiotics is pretty hard to find for sale. At first glance, it’s unclear if this product simply isn’t marketed all that well, or if consumers can safely assume that it has been discontinued.

But, after a bit more research, we found that this product is sold in Canada only—meaning customers in the US and elsewhere may found themselves out of luck.

We were able to find this product for sale on Amazon Canada—for $29.99 CAD. It doesn’t appear to be sold anywhere else, aside from eBay where the price range is $30-300. It’s been pulled from the US Amazon site, and is not sold directly from the manufacturer.

There are so many products on the market similar to PureFem Probiotics that it’s not necessarily going to be worth it for consumers outside of Canada to try and track this down.

Business of PureFem Probiotics

PureFem Probiotics is made by a Canadian pharmaceutical company known as Aralez Pharmaceuticals. Their contact information is listed below:

Phone: 866-391-4503

Email: [email protected]

PureFem Probiotics, as we’ve mentioned above was somewhat difficult to track down. The company that makes this product appears to only sell to Canadian consumers—whether that’s through Amazon or smaller pharmacies.

Initially, we were wary of recommending this product due to the lack of information available to consumers in the US—but it does look like this is a reputable company, and PureFem Probiotics do have some positive reviews on the books.

Yet, the official Aralez Pharmaceuticals website isn’t especially informative. The site offers about two lines of description, and from there mentions this product is not meant for sale outside of Canada.

We never get a sense of who, exactly should use this, what the ingredients are or how much it’s supposed to cost. It’s also not clear if PureFem Probiotics is intended to be an over-the-counter product, or if it’s available in Canada by prescription only.

Customer Opinions of PureFem Probiotics

PureFem Probiotics has been removed from its original Amazon listing, but Amazon Canada is hosting the reviews from the now-defunct page. Here’s a look at what some users had to say about their experience with this supplement:

“Works pretty good, but you have to purchase the applicator separately, which honestly, just doesn’t make sense. It’s already kind of overpriced and definitely should just make things easy for shoppers.”

“I was getting UTIs on a regular basis for over a year. The doctor tried to put me on HRT, because I’m going through menopause, but I didn’t feel comfortable. This product is pretty good—does the job.”

“PureFem Probiotics is great  for clearing up itching dryness,  burning, odor, everything. It only comes with one applicator, and you do need to wash it with each use. Other than that, it’s pretty fantastic.”

“I had bacterial vaginosis for about 3 months, took antibiotics and a few other treatments before taking a chance on PurFem. It cleared this up pretty quickly. I’d for sure recommend this to a friend.”

Based on the reviews, this product seems like it works as advertised. Canadian customers may do well with this product, but those outside of the region should be wary—as sales are not authorized by the manufacturer and consumers may get counterfeit or expired product.

We liked that there were some menopausal users that discussed their experience with PureFem Probiotics. Based on the few anecdotes that mentioned hormone-related dryness, BV and yeast infections, this probiotic appears to have helped with those symptoms.

It’s just worth pointing out, that addressing the hormone issue is likely the best long term solution for recurring BV in menopausal women. But, hormone-balancing supplements may take some time to kick in and a probiotic suppository could bring some instant relief in the meantime.

Conclusion – Does PureFem Probiotics Work?

PureFem Probiotics does have several good reviews—people who mentioned this helped them with chronic yeast infections or BV, as well as some comments posted by menopausal women experiencing vaginal issues after a loss of hormones. Generally speaking, this product looks pretty good.

However, there are a few issues. First of all, it is really difficult to find this product for sale—we found it on Amazon Canada, but it’s been removed from the US version of the site. We also had some difficulties finding this product anywhere else online. It’s unclear if they have an official website, or if it’s sold on any other channels.

With that being said, it’s certainly easy to see why we cannot recommend this product (to anyone outside of Canada), despite the fact that PureFem Probiotics has some good reviews. The makers of this product prohibit sale outside of the country, and users who are able to track the product down may be getting something nearing the expiration date.

It’s also worth mentioning that menopausal women can likely benefit from these types of suppositories, but they are a short term fix. In menopause, hormones are at the root of vaginal concerns like BV, yeast infections, discharge, odor and more. For this reason, it’s wise to address the hormones at fault, too.

We’ve looked at so many different types of vaginal care products, menopause supplements and more. Femmetrinol stands out for its ability to help even hormones—addressing dryness, odor and frequent vaginal infections, as well as the more common menopause symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats.

Femmetrinol was created in a certified lab setting, and continues to be produced under stringent GMP standards. Click this link here to learn more about how Femmetrinol can improve your live during menopause.
