Invigor8 is a meal replacement shake made with high protein that is said to aid digestion, brain health, the immune system, and assist in the reduction of body fat. This shake comes in 3 distinct flavors and they add how it’s low on the glycemic index, gluten free, soy free, and made with grass fed whey protein.

They also add that the ingredients included are all healthy and natural. A list on the official website mentions how they eliminate the use of soy, refined sugar, heavy metals, and certain cheap binders. This invigor8 review will highlight what one can expect. Our review experts have noted that the best meal replacement for weight loss was 18Shake. The following are added to their French vanilla flavor according to the Invigor8 nutritional facts:

Xylitol Stevia Extract 100% Grass Fed Whey Chlorella Alfalfa
Bovine Colostrum Chicory Root Extract (Inulin) Lactobacillus Acidophilus Amylase Lactase
Bromelain Papain Lipase Vinpocetine L-Theanine
Bacopa Kale Coconut Oil Chia Seed Oil Bifidobacterium Bifidum

Xylitol: Sugar alcohol used as an alternative sweetener and it is often extracted from things like birch wood. This will not lead to tooth decay as regular sugar can, and it can also reduce bacteria in the saliva. In really high amounts it can cause things such as:

  • Gas, diarrhea and stomach cramps.

The top 10 list has a complete ranked profile of the most beneficial meal replacement shakes reviewed by our experts.

Chlorella: Algae found in fresh water that is used as a superfood due to its wide array of nutrients. This has to have broken cell walls in order for it to be properly digested by the body.  Web MD has added that there are common side effects which may include:

  • Allergic reactions, gas, and nausea.
  • Diarrhea, flatulence, and stomach cramping.

Vinpocetine: A compound which can be extracted from the periwinkle plant that has been used to support healthy blood flow and protect brain cells from injury.  It has a possibility for symptoms including:

  • Nervousness, sleep issues, and flushing within the face.

Bifidobacterium Bifidum: Bacteria found in the intestines which are used to ferment things like cheese and yogurt. It is a healthy kind of bacteria that can alleviate constipation and promote healthier bowels. In some it can potentially lead to side effects as described by Web MD:

  • Gas, bloating, and upset stomach.

Bovine Colostrum: This fluid is released by human and mammal’s breast after childbirth and it contains a richer amount of vitamins, protein, fats, and much more nutrients. This may contribute to symptoms including:

  • Nausea, abnormal liver, and a loss of red blood cells.

Chicory Root Extract (Inulin): A natural plant that has been used to provide a laxative effect and which can improve digestion.

Lipase: Natural enzyme that is found within the pancreas. It helps to breakdown fats so the intestines can absorb them. It is often not needed in any additional amounts in otherwise healthy people. This may cause side effects such as:

  • Upset stomach, nausea, and increased risk for cystic fibrosis symptoms.

Bacopa:  This herb is used as a nootropic which can help boost brain chemicals that support memory, thinking, and learning. It has also been used as a way to protect cells from early onset Alzheimer’s. It is commonly added to nootropic supplements and it has research that shows it can boost brain health.

Invigor8 offers 21 grams per serving which is no doubt a good amount. The added enzymes aren’t really needed as the human body creates these to improve digestion naturally; they are often only required for people with medical conditions.

It is good that they add stevia and xylitol, both are healthy alternative sweeteners which do not lead to metabolism disorders like sugar can potentially have.

The calories in this shake are a bit high at 170 per serving, which for some can be an excess amount that may make weight loss more difficult. Furthermore, the micronutrient content is low and they only mention calcium and iron. It’s unknown if there is an adequate of vitamin D, manganese, vitamin E, and much more. They do reveal that there is 0% vitamin A and vitamin C however.

Because of these lacking nutrients it’s difficult to consider this a true meal replacement shake, as a meal replacement is meant to substitute a heavy caloric meal with a reduced calorie yet nutrient rich food source. This may require one to have to supplement with a multi-vitamin to make up for the lacking nutrients.

When purchased direct from the official website, a bottle offering 15 servings sells for $59.95. They conveniently mention that this equals to $4 per serving. It is somewhat pricy when you consider the fact that it is lacking in many vitamins and minerals. The added enzymes are also not essential, and therefore only serve to increase the price unnecessarily.

This does have a lot of additions within it that are meant to increase this shakes ability to nourish the body, but as far as it being a true meal replacement it is lacking. For example, Web MD has said when looking for a proper meal replacement that it should contain:

“a third of daily vitamins and minerals”

This is sorely lacking as some nutrients are at 0%. Because of this it means the overall quality is lacking as a whole.

It also appears that Invigor8 samples do not exist.

Xylitol is 100x more toxic to dogs than chocolate, a tiny amount can put a great dane into convulsions. I wish products like these that contain xylitol had warning labels to prevent a lot of heartache, dogs are always sneaking a bite or a lick of their owners’ food, just licking the residue in your shake cup can kill your dog. People who use this product, please be careful and prevent your pets from exposure to this product.
