Svetle Protein Shake is a liquid meal replacement offered in 5 different flavors using only organic plant based protein. The flavors include spied chai, cappuccino, banana crème, French vanilla and chocolate.

The convenient bottles can be taken on the go, and they recommend it for people needing a quick source of protein. This is supposedly effective at providing a reliable source of energy which is metabolized for a longer time. There’s a total of 5 grams of fiber, 11 grams of organic protein, and all without gluten or dairy. The meal replacement shake we most recommend for filling protein and for weight loss support is 18Shake. Not only are the ingredients natural and wholesome, but it can reduce appetite for hours while providing important nutrients. Svetle Protein Shake Ingredients and Side Effects

The ingredients to their French vanilla include:

Organic Soymilk Organic Rice Syrup Solids Organic Dried Cane Syrup Organic Inulin Natural Flavors
Vitamin A Palmitate Vitamin D2 Vitamin B12 Vitamin E Vitamin B2
Calcium Carbonate Zinc Organic Acacia Gum Organic Guar Gum Xanthan Gum
Sea Salt Organic Stevia Organic Vanilla Extract

Organic Soymilk: A plant based drink that is made from the processing of soybeans. This is often GMO, but the version added to Svetle is organic. Soymilk is often substituted by vegans or people who are lactose intolerant.

Although described as a milk, this is not technically any kind of milk based drink.

Even though this is often low in calories and rich in protein, there is ongoing debate on whether or not eating soy is healthy. Too much can potentially lead to a high amount of estrogens which can affect hormones. A study published but the department of Food Science and Human Nutrition in Illinois says that soy:

“stimulates… human breast cancer”

Organic Rice Syrup Solids: Processed form of rice which provides an easy to use sweetener. This is often used due to it being free of gluten and because it’s hypoallergenic.

Organic Dried Cane Syrup: A dehydrated form of sugar cane which is a less processed sweetener. Like any other sugar source however, the amount use should be regulated to prevent weight gain and other related problems.

Organic Inulin: A kind of starch found in food which is not digested and instead is useful for improving the growth of healthy bacteria. Overuse of it can potentially lead to digestive complications.

Organic Acacia Gum: A common processed thickener which is extracted from a tree known as acacia. This can make ingredients stick together and it acts as a natural binder. It can also regulate appetite and make a person feel full. The amount must be regulated to prevent potential digestive related side effects.

Organic Guar Gum: A thickener from the guar plant which can reduce appetite and support weight loss. This can also have laxative like effects and when overused, can potentially cause:

  • Diarrhea, nausea, and gas.

Organic Stevia: A sweetener taken from a natural plant which can make food taste rich, while not having the same possible impact as regular sugar. This is used as an alternative sweetener which will not affect weight, tooth decay, metabolism, and overall health.

This is often used by diabetics who want to sweeten their foods without the rapid dips in blood sugar.

Svetle Protein Shake Quality of Ingredients

The good thing about this shake brand is that they offer many flavors, stevia is added, the fiber is high, and there are many nutrients. The bad is that the sugar is far too high, the calories are too much, and some of the ingredients shouldn’t have been added.

The two questionable sweeteners include rice syrup solids and dried cane syrup. Sugar of any kind should be limited as much as possible if the goal is weight loss. Not only can it spike blood sugar levels, leading to low energy and sudden hunger, but it can also contribute to metabolism issues. This then can affect total weight gain, and it should be avoided at all costs.

The other problem is that all the protein comes from soy which may not sit right with all users’ digestion. The soy is non-GMO which is an improvement over regular soy, but something rich like whey protein would have been a much better substitute.

The carbohydrates are also quite high at 21 grams per serving.

The Price and Quality of Svetle Protein Shake

You can expect to pay a slightly different price depending on where you get it from. Currently on amazon an 11 ounce pack of 12 sells for $25.57. The price seems too high for the heavy amounts of calories and sugar added to it.

It’s good that they added a lot of nutrients to it, and organic soy is much better than GMO soy, but still, this is still not a good way to lose weight. Some weight loss meal replacement shakes have less than half the amount of calories, with 5 grams less sugar. Too much sugar and calories can be a heavy contributor to weight gain, and it’s truly unnecessary to add so much in a shake anyways.

The protein is decent at 11 grams per serving, but it could have been a bit more to support the high cost.

For some this was too much, making it seem like an overly sugar like flavor profile. Because of this some questioned whether or not this could be used for dieting.

Another problem some had was the consistency as there were complications related to the chalkiness. The different flavors were criticized as well, as some felt that flavors like banana were artificial tasting.
